These people called and asked for my daughter. When I told them I was her mother and this was my phone, they said the call was regarding her student loans. I know this was a scam for the following two reasons:
1. She had already worked out her student loans and
2. She NEVER uses the house phone number!!!!! She only uses her cell phone number for any business and/or other things.

They have called several times since the beginning of April and the last two times were today April 12 at 10:50 am and 8:22 am. I don't even waste my time answering the phone and of course, no message is left!!!! No name of the company

Get calls from this number asking for my son. I told them he hasn't lived here in 15 years and doesn't have a loan.  They asked if I had a number they could call.  I told them to call 866 905-8941,  They thanked me and hung up.  It would have been a very interesting call to listen to, because that's one of the other numbers they use.

This number has called days in a row and several times a day this is harassment and they should be reported to the FICA and attorney generals- don't have any student loans .

They call here many times a day,  even my brother's house,  it's not me.   Tried to call back but can't get them to answer.   So aggravating on so many levels and now different states and people.   So embarrassing to call my brother's family when none of us have debt.   Idiots.  

They have now called three times today no message This is harassement and I do not even know who they are

My call log on my private cell phone has received at least 15 calls from this company a day.. A sometimes they leave a message ,most of the time they don't.... I have never had a student loan... It's harassment in every sense of the word ....

Have received multiple, harassing calls. Finally answered, they were looking for someone else, I demanded that they take my number off...Suspect this company, I wouldn't make payment arrangements through them at all, but check with the loan holder.

I was deeply concerned about receiving phone calls from this number until I googled the number, found the company name and website (student assistance corporation, I guess they call themselves), and saw this message ON their "about us" link:

"Student Assistance Corporation (SAC) is a national leader in providing default prevention services.... For more than 20 years, SAC has been helping the nation's leading student loan guarantors avert millions of dollars in student loan defaults.

We credit our success to dedicated employees, strong management, and extensive field experience. In addition, we view emerging technologies and continuing education for our staff as valuable tools for helping our customers. "

I immediately threw these calls into the "fuhgitabouddit" bucket when I saw the following sentence:

"Information...is found on our parent company's Web site, www.salliemae.com."

So they're affiliated with Sallie Mae, the biggest PITA in the student loan arena. What is more, I paid off my sallie mae loans over two years ago.

I was just reading this thread and they called. I decided to answer for a change and I heard someone with an Asian accent say a couple words in the background and then they hung up. This is a scam call. I've had this phone number for 15 years and have never had a student loan. They couldn't have got my phone number from any legitimate source.

One call every hour beginning at 8 am

I receive phone calls from this number 3-5 times per day.  When I answer, it is a recording asking me to leave a message. It never says who it is.  Please block this number from calling my phone.

They call about a student loan. I am retired and paid off the last of my student loans 30 years ago. They leave a number to call but they talk so fast that they are gone before I can write it down.

They are calling my job on the main multi-line system, then hanging up before I even finish my greeting because I don't say "Hello," I say the greeting I use to answer the phone! I don't even know how they have this number because it's not on my loan profile!

These people at 800-335-9188 call at least four times a day, every day for over two months.  I need them to stop calling my number.  My home phone is 505-833-2192

I don't answer calls I don't recognize. Have my landline forwarded to my cell for caller ID. If I don't recognize the #, I hit 'IGNORE'. If they really want to speak to me they can leave a message but, no message left. Just started yesterday. I will continue to hit 'IGNORE' until they stop or leave a message.

My 11 year old daughter just received a phone for her birthday and this number calls her all the time.  It is very frustrating for her and us.  They call at 7:30am and wake her up every morning!

They have been calling for months as early as 9am and late as 853pm. They are showing on my caller ID.Keeping track of all dates for reference.

These people have been calling me for weeks to collect a student loan for someone whose name I don't remember. I personally have no student loans. They don't realize that they're calling a business and when I called them this morning the man on the phone was extremely rude to ME when it is his company that has been harassing me. He hung up on me, so I called back and the next person I talked to promptly removed my phone number.

People should not be allowed to "do business" this way.

Just told me I owe for a student loan from 1972. I was born in 1975. They don't think anything is strange about this at all.

Are you also getting calls from USA Funds? All of a sudden, I'm getting multiple calls from this number and USA Funds. My student loans are current with Direct Loans, so they must be looking for someone else. Also, i've read the other comments. The fact that the call hangs up when you answer suggests that they get paid to CALL you, not for you to answer. These companies have to "prove" attempts to contact the borrower, not "prove" actual contact or to resolve a debt. It is more profitable to pretend they actually tried to resolve debt (not really) and send the borrower into default instead of REALLY trying to resolve the debt. I feel sorry for the person who they are really trying to contact, because they could say "we tried 100 times to call this person and they were uncooperative." I mean, they could look up my number and realize i am not the person they are looking for.

I found this when I entered the number. They call multiple times a day, never leave a message, until today when they said they were calling about a student loan. I do know that that some student loan people were looking for some guy who has the same last name, some years back, and I kept telling them I was NOT Jason, and knew no Jasons with my last name. Every few months, I would get another Jason call. My husband (different last name) has a student loan he's current on and paying, so maybe it's both Jason and my husband's current loan? These folks are insanely annoying. Is nothing to be done?
