Hi, I also got a call yesterday from this number...I haven't answered as I was really suspicious...as I live in Hungary, Europe and rarely get a phone call from the US:) I have some friends there but we usually speak by Skype or Facebook.

Getting call from a guy that says he is Martin Ackermann offering investment opportunities. The calling number comes up as  +6466583167 he says he is calling from NY.  It shows on my phone that the call is coming from NZ. Anyone else getting calls from this number.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!... Don't fall for it!... Yes, they are bold and rude... But come on they have thick Indian accents... and American names??? My husband called the FBI and FTC and reported them. If the police has arrest warrants for us, they know where we live, they won't "call" us and warn us in advance! They will eventually get caught... Please everyone call and report their activities and their numbers to help them get caught soon!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I received a call from this phone number (646)658-3167 at my home earlier this evening. The caller did not identify himself, but spoke with an Indian accent and asked to speak with my daughter. I informed him that he was speaking to her mother and demanded he identify himself and state what his call was in reference to. All I got from him was a garbled message about "legal matter", "attorney" and this (?) going to court if she doesn't respond. We had extensive problems with similar calls last year, and I believe this may be the same "game". At that time, I demanded the caller FAX any and all documentation they had to me immediately. Needless to say, no FAX arrived, but the calls did cease. This time I, again, demanded documents be FAXed and am waiting to see if anything actually shows up, or if the calls cease.

My husband just got a call from Attorney James Parks (yeah that's an American name and he's not American) stating that if he doesn't call them back they will have the Sheriff at our home and gave our address and gave the last four of his ssn #.  Of course my husband freaks and calls me and I told him it was a scam.  He called them back and basically told the guy he was living in America and needed to learn how to speak our language.  

Couple of helpful things I've learned from an attorney:

#1 America does NOT have a debtors jail
#2 They have to take you to court to be able to arrest you
#3 Always turn them into the better business bureau

Make them pay for lying to people

IT'S A SCAM

I received also a call from this Shawn Woods at 646-658-3167 on 8/9/12, I called back and was transferred to an Officer James Anderson, ext 757, informing that they were from Financial Crime Enforcement Network verifying officer and that I had an outstanding debt, and that by 3:00pm next day they would send information to my state court house.  They stated that they were from the State of New York. When talking with Officer Anderson, he wanted to know how I wanted to take care of this debt 685.  He said I had to make a deposit with a credit card 200.00 and 2 installments of $242.00, I asked for the creditors phone number - 205-717-2609 they said it was USCash Advance and they have over 2000 different accounts.  When Calling 205-717-2609 I received a lady's voice said that department was close - after hours. They couldn't give me any information.  This officer wanted me to fax the next day from my work fax to 206-984-2980 a letter of intent to pay and (206 belongs to a Seattle, Wa number, (205 is Alabama number, and (646 area code is New York mobile number. The funny thing is the $200 is tied to an Arrow Productions in Ahaheim, CA - a publishing company.

This is a scam people.  This guy is in India at a call center. He got your name from a list and is trying to extort money from you.  Dont but it.  Talk to him as long as you can keep him on the line to run up their charges.

Received two calls in a row from 646-658-3167. The person said he was officer Andy Black.  He claimed that there was a legal complaint against my social security number and that Financial Crime Inforcement Network was ready to prosecute me and that I should have a lawyer.
I recognized right away that this is a scam operation. This person used an American name and spoke with a heavy India accent!!!  No way, is this person legitimate.  Called the Attorney Generals office of Consumer Protection and filed a complaint against these people.  Also, I am filing a complaint with the local police just to have a paper trail for the FTC in case they need more documentation.  Then after that I am calling the local radio/tv station in Pittsburgh to get it on the news.
These people are calling my work place and won't let up.  I keep my boss informed.  If you google search this phone number, there are a series of complaints against this number.

Man claiming to be law enforcement. Saying my husband would b arrested n then calling my husbands employer. They now have vital info on our selfsame. I believe we could b victims of fraud.

We received this same call today about my husband.  Heavy Indian accent very rude. Said my husband would b arrested. My husband told him he knew it was a scam and demmnded his supervisors name n badge number. They kept hanging up. The call came thru on phone from an emergency 911 caller. Ugh then they also contacted my husbands employer he had message from them. This is awful.  I will b going to bank and other places to protect our Accra n find out whht can b done.

I have recieved three calls from this number today the man on the other end is claiming to be officer Drake and that I am being accused of an internet crime associated with my social security number he is demanding that I call him back today.......Again a very heavy Indian accent but a very american name!

Said he was gonna trace my number and have the police come and arrest me. I repeated, "Please take this number off of your call list and don't call her any more." He hung up.

Caller ID simply shows New York NY.

all of this just happened to me this morning at my job i had to leave work i didnt know what to do smh now that im home and know this is a scam i want to know how this is going to be handled and to get these guys because stuff like this i could have lost my job they have all my personal info too Officer Shawn Woods left a message for me at work to call him once i got in

OMG....I checked a vm at work and someone name sean woods saying their is a warrant and I got charges...i got scared and called the number yesterday evening and a guy sean woods said the same thing what u all said..i was so scared that I wrote down making payment plans n putting money on a prepaid card topay today...but glad I search this number n read all ur comments...now I know its a scam and Thank GOD I didnt do it..I took a big load off my shoulders...thank u Jesus

I just received the same kind of call from this number. Please, if you have received a call from this number, call the FTC and report it! I have their number if you can't find it. You can go onto www.FTC.gov and read all about this scam. These guys are rude and they will bully and swear at you! They have a strong accent and are actually in the middle east somewhere, not Buffalo New York like they say. They need to be stopped! I got two names of Officer Sean Woods and Andy Lawson. I hope this helps people because I know I was so worked up when I received this call until I found this website showing others have been experiencing the same problem with these b*****ds.

This man who said he is Officer ?? is annoying and sounds like he is not even from this country. He called my cell number and then my work number, when I told him to NOT call my work again he kept telling me to listen listen, I hung up on him. Then he called right back and I told him that if he does not stop calling my work I will call the authorities; I said I already received a message on my cell phone he then was harrassing me asking me what my cell number was. I again said stop calling my work or I will call the authorities! I then hung up and he did not call back....YET!

They called me, and when I asked for specifics, the guy got nervous he hung up

Hey they call me everyday at least 5 times, they say im going to be arrested within 30 mins every time they called if i dont return there calls... Im still here as well. If you have this same problem go to the police station and file a report because they are known to be stealing peoples personal identification in other countries and DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYMORE INFORMATION other then what they already know... They are 100% scam and are in a third party for identity theft.

Hi, they have been calling my mom, at her work & on her phone. Stating that if she doesn't call back then the cops will come to our house & come get her. He said his name his shaan woods with an Indian accent. Which I do not believe his name is woods. If this number call again let it go to voice mail so Mr. woods can leave a message.
