Crook. Ripping people off!!! His story was the same as those above. I told his to go jump off a bridge!! Ignore anything from this number!!

Also have a car on craiglist,  they offered to buy it but said they needed my full address zipcode so they could calculate how much it would cost to ship it cause he wasn't able to come see it due to work. I knew something was up so I found this website, forwarded it to his number which has an IP address linked to it, and alerted Federal authorities.

Also got a text from this number concerning an item I had on craigslist. He was trying to convince me to open a paypal account so he could transfer the funds. This has to be a scammer!!!!

Same as above - Craigslist add - received text - wants my address so he can send cashiers check.  Red flag went up so I started searching and found this site.  Thanks for confirming my suspisions.

caller sent me to requests to buy with bank of america certified check posted by fedex, will arrange a private company to collect, obviously a scammer. I clearly stated items descriptions and NO checks. He asked condition and wants to pay with a check. dumbass.

was contacted about my truck on craigslist.a guy told me he wanted to send me a certified check and  to wait for the check to clear  then  he would have me ship the truck to him. he wanted my truck badly.I thought that was somewhat suspicious because my truck is not very rare.It is a 1978 ford F-250 Why would someone in  NY. not be able to find a truck that's not rare? anyway I got several texts from the guy saying how badly he wanted  to have this truck in particular.so i just typed this number into the computer and found how this is a scam i'm glad i didn't fall for this scam. don't anyone else fall for this scam either.

Texter has sent several text messages, seems very suspicious. Wants to mail out payment in the form of Certified Check drawn on Bank of America sent via Fedex or USPS. They will handle the shipment themselves by hiring a private shipping company. Pure bullcrap!

I'm in California and just posted a ring on Craig's list and this same New York number started texting me saying he would send me a certified check and have a courier pick it up, etc.  Very suspicious.  I will not deal with him.  Don't know what he's up to, but it can't be good.

Sounds like the Overpayment Scam.

The way it works, the scammer offers to pay full price for the item plus a shipping fee.  He sends you a cashiers check for the whole amount.  You are to wire the shipping fee to a shipper specified by the the buyer.  You deposit the check.  Under US banking regulations the bank must credit the amount of the check into your account in 5 business days.  So 5 days later you see the money in your account and wire transfer the shipping fee.  A wired money transfer clears immediately.  Days or week later the buyer's check bounces.  Your bank demands the whole amount back, including the shipping fee.  The buyer vanishes.

They buyer and his buddy keep the shipping fee.  You are out the shipping fee plus whatever your bank charges for depositing a bad check.

Got a text from 6468011547 , also wants to buy a car from me that I listed on craigslist.

The number is a new york number but I'm several states away.

Claims to want to buy my vehicle I have on Craigslist. Text messages are all I have received at this point. Party does not have good English grammer, therefore I am suspicious.
