This guy contacted me through a social network site and has been being very nice. We've just been talking as friends until I told him to call me, so we could talk in person. Said he was in Thailand on business and had to wait on his us line to charge up. That's when I googled the number. This is the original number though 646-801-5457.

I also received a text to buy an item from Craigslist I'm sure its a scam and wants my Paypal account.

Asked to buy Craigslist item using a business check. Does seem right. Wont pay cash!

Left a message on my unlisted landline about the "...item you have on Craigslist...". I don't  have anything listed on Craigslist and wouldn't list my home phone even if I did.

He responded to two seperate ads for two seperate bikes I had for sale. Insisted on a Paypal account. I told him I didnt have one and he could send a money order or cashiers check. He insisted that Paypal would be quicker and I told him that Paypal wouldnt release the money right away and if he is looking for quick, then send it Western Union. He got a little pissy....lol. He claims to have his own private shipping company that will charge him $1050 to come pick them up. I asked him why he would buy two bikes that were cheaper than the shipping expenses. I continued to mess with him until he got real pissy. hehehe. Jerk Face.

got call on sunday i won publishing warehouse (scam) eastern accent ! (scam) wanted E mail address(scam) 9-1-13

i figured it was a scam i reply back to them with "cash only" and i googled the number and sure enough im not the only one. what a jack a** loser.

Tried the same with me, even offered to send money first if I gave my PayPal. I told him to give me his and I would invoice the item he "wanted to buy"...that shut him up immediately. Be smart; be safe, people! :-)

I just received a call from 646 801 5179 stating that he was a lawyer named jensen and also about a pay day loan but the name of the loan he was mentioning wasn't someone I knew.  And was saying that owed a lot of money and that i just need to go to walmart to get a green dot card.  I'm glad i googled the number because every time I asked for information he wouldn't give it to me.

This just happened to my friend, he was asking 1900$ for his truck on Kijiji and this guy email him saying he would pay him 3500$ but he needed to open a paypal account .. Glad I looked out on Google!

yuppers! just received the same deal here last nite bout my bike for sale.. seemed a little sketchy so typed in the number here and bam!! thanks to all of you for the help!! I got the johnsbillatt email and heard back from him at 3:18 AM so must be from somewhere along the east coast..

This number also is responsible for falsifying claims of legal suit on behalf of a payday loan company. He tries to get your bank account number by using whatever info he does have to verify his story. He's a dumb foul mouthed tool. I've reported him to the FTC and the police. Nothing will probably come out of it. Hut I've been harassing the s*** outta him :/.

yeah he did the same thing too this was his exact txt:

"I've viewed your Ad listed on craiglist, still available for sale/pls send me your best price to my personal email jonsbill84@att.net"

The potential buyer for my car wants to me to setup my account on Paypal so he can pay me
he is not going to be available to pick up the car so, he is going to ask he agent to do it for him...

The only thing I have to say to that is:

This chump called my saying the US government had awarded me a grant by drawing my name. Called him out on it. Stupid guy running a scam lot in Manhattan. Everybody should call and pester him in return. Number is the same as listed here: 646-801-5179.
