I received a call from them. They stated that legal action was being taken against me and that I needed to contact them. I traced the number to NY but I live CA. Called back machine just says put in extension but not Company Name.

These same ppl have been calling me all day saying the samething they have my email address and say they have my social security who are these ppl the man claims to be an officer john smith who is this and what should i do?

Hey...... these people calling from INDIA, CHINA and other countries. where many many call centers are running for getting money from USA and UK citizens... ITS ALL SCAM... for running there business.

How it runs..........(for debt collection)

(A.) some people tries to get loan online on fack sites but could not succeed and their personal detail reached to site owners. which is sold by them to call centers at $4 to $6 / Person detail.

(B.) Some people really took loans and could not paid it back. so your information is provided to that call centers.

SO what actually they (Call Centers) do...

1. First they get all your detail from banks and some crooks. include: your name, social security number, address, employment detail, 2 refrences and a detail of any lumsum amount between 100$ to 300$.

2. they have USA UK number for their own (only for displaying).. they calls through various softwares (like: icall) by using headphones.

3. They makes a write up for leaving msg. like:-
"this message is intended for Mr. john.  john the very second you receive this msg i need you or your retained attorney to call me back. the issue at hand is extremely time sensetive. my name is ..........., and i am calling from financial accountability association, my call back no. is 123456789, i am repeating this for you john 123456789, john don't disregard this msg and call me on my number back. if i don't get any call from you or from your attorney........ wish you good luck,
take care"

4. If you pick up phones... they threatens you by saying... that federal govt is falling lawsuit against you and your social security number. and try to remembrazed you that you took a pay day loan and never paid it back...They knows that you people living on loans itself, so it is very easy to threaten you that such company falling lawsuit against you for your unpaid loan( which actually not that loan which you took before) They usually ask for the amount more than they get in their list like.... near by 1245$ or according to clients voice (afraid or nervous)

5. they can tell u that they have sent u various mails to inform you but u never replied.

how to avoid them...

1. Say that you have an attorney. ( they can ask bankruptcy or criminal attorney) if u tell criminal they will say it won't work and ask for bankruptcy attorney. if you say bankruptcy they will say it won't work and ask for criminal attorney. give any number by saying "call to my attorney" they won't call.
2. Say that u know : Its ALL SCAM .......... they will hung up.
3. say that that is not my social security number... they will never call.
4. Ask for date of the loan taken...... they can't help you or can give u any fack date.( by which u can come to know about scam)

this  is not a scam
its my personal experience because when i got a call from this dept i just abused them very much
and then i just  told them to provide me with each and every documents and the shocking thing
was that they send me each and every thing at my email address and my billin address..
they are very geniune people bcz i abused them very much but they did send my case to the
county court.thanks for not sending my case and sorry for doubting on ur integrity good bye and have a great day.

No message just hangup.

I got a call from this number as well. Greatest conversation ever. After I threatened the guys life, his accent changed and he told me to go  f%ck myself.  I told him to take my name off the list , in which case he responds " I will never take your number off the f#ckin list". I turned the tables on them, and called their number back 10 times one day saying this is officer ryan , and I have your social security #.

This man says his name is Patrick Wilson. I couldnt understand anything else. Heavy foreign accent. Called again from a 760 number. Reported it too. Says he is from the state of California.

If you're going to try to run your FILTHY SCAM on here at least learn our language LOL

this is a legal dept and i have checked up in the internet
i was thinkin it to be scam but they send me every documents at my email address
and to  my billing address and they are very good officers
because first time when i get a call from them i abused them but then also they did not
send my case to the court house.......they work with me very nicest way

Hey I had the same people call me. They said he worked for the department of fruad and Had some case number

my co-worker received phone call asking for me, caller stated  he is officer john smith. an that i had a lawsuit out against me. that i needed to call him now. he was giving her information she didn't need to know if this was a real call. and demanded she give out my cell #  or other contact information. if this was a lawsuit against me. they would had this information and mailed papers from the court house. be careful , this man is foreign heavy accent and wants to so call strong arm you.

I received the same exact message from Mr. Wilson. There is only an answering machine when I called back no id information for a greeting either. This must be a scam.

I recv'd a message from Patrick Wilson stating he was from the Dept of New York & they were collecting on a debt..When I returned the call,I asked to speak to Patrick Wilson by name.The man on the other end stated he was Mr Wilson. He asked me to grab a pen and paper to write down the information that he was giving me.He gave me a different name. He stated that his name was Matthew Roderick, Sr. Supervisor. When I asked the name of the company he was calling from, he would not disclose the information,but wanted me to pay a debt in the amount of $550 or a civil warrant would be issued and I would then have to pay $5000. I told him what he could do with his warrant and that I would see him in court.This has to be a scam. When my husband called them,they were deffensive and hung up on him.

I got a call from these people threatening to call the police on me

I do not know who this is, they are claiming to be from some legal department with the last 4 digits of my Social Security number
