I GOT A CALL FROM AN INDIAN SPEAKING FELLOW NAMED GET THIS THIS JIM HENSON
I ASK IF KNEW THE MUPPET GUY HAD HIS SAME NAME HE DIDNT KNOW .......THIS IS SUCH A SCAM

Got this phone call about my computer being infected and it needing to be corrected.. the next words out of my mouth were.. "I'm employed as a cyber security expert with a DOD security clearance.. do you really want to try this bull**** with me?"

I had them call me today from 646 884-8561. The guy, "John," said he wanted to talk to me about my Windows computer. I asked him to take me off of his list (assuming it was a "normal" telemarketer). I also told him that I didn't have windows on my computer. He asked what kind of computer I had. I said "Linux," at which point he hung up on me...

It's a scam.  These crooks are trying to gain access and control over your computers so that they can infect it with a nasty virus (when they say they are trying to "clean" it).  

Hang up.  Add them to your phone's address book under SCAM or block the calls if you can.  They are spoofing multiple numbers, so you will have to do this more than once.  Do not bother speaking to them.  

Immediately report all scam and illegal telemarketing calls that you receive to www.donotcall.gov.

Woman with heavy accent called from 646-884-9561;  said she was concerned about problem with Windows system on my computer.  Told her we were not having problems and hung up.

646-884-9561 called me too, several times.  The last time the guy got angry with me because I told him I thought the whole thing was a big scam and that he was a crook.  I finally hung up on his little tirade and have not had another call back.  Yet.........

Got a call today from a guy with an Indian accent asking me if my computer was slow to start up. Said he was with Windows and they were contacting all Windows OS users about complaints they had been getting. I asked him how he got my number because my computer was over 10 years old and it not registered to my new address or my phone number and he told me it didn't matter and that I needed to do what he told me to do on the computer to fix the problem. He told me to press the ctrl and R buttons on my keyboard and type in eventvwr in the box. I then told him that he was not getting control of my computer and hung up on him. No call backs as of yet.

Got call from this number- 646-884-9561. No one answered. How can we block this strange number?

Got a call from this number today & was in a hurry, so I didn't check caller ID.  I just answered & said hello after that the phone started ringing in my ear.  I hung up!  Never called back.

I got such a call today. I told him I didn't own a computer and hung up.

Also received a call from a male with an Indian accent referring to me by my last name, saying he had received an "error report" from my computer. I immediately hung up! Caller ID was NWYRCYZN01   NY      ***SCAM***

They called. I didn't answer. They hung up after 4 rings.

Yes this Number is a scam to get into your PC. They are now useing the program Join Me and will have you download it to your PC. After that they will be able to see your screen and get your Information. Never let someone on the phone trick you. Even if they say they are from Comcast or any other service. you have the phone number to your services. call them and make sure the call is from them.

I just got a call about 20 minutes ago from a man I could NOT understand but sorry bc I am not believing anyone over the phone like that saying my computer has a virus, I hung up on him immediately!!  He called from 646-884-9561

Just got a phone call about 30 minutes ago asking do I have a computer. I said: Yes I have a computer.
The lady on the phone had a very thick accent that I had a hard time understanding what she was saying went on to tell me that a virus was going around and she was going to help me get rid of it. Well I got rid of her and hung up. the number she was calling from was :646-884-9561.

Just rec'd a call from this number.  India accent, man named 'Roger'.  Said he was calling about  my Windows computer.  Needed to correct an error.  I told him that I had a tech and to remove me from his list.  SCAM

I have EasyFilter - for those of you that only use cell phones (Android) I highly recommend it.  This call went straight to spam but I check every number to make sure I'm not missing something important.  I've also reported the number.

I just got my second call from them today. I have finally gotten caller ID in the past couple of weeks, so now I can see who it is that is calling me. I am also on the NO CALL LIST here in USA. Doesn't keep them from calling in India, though. :(

Indian guy said he was a tech rep to fix my PC.
Knew it was a scam, so I just hung up.

receive calls from this number, but never have talked w/anyone--hang up before they get on line.  Decided to look up number to see who was calling & came to this site.

Received a called from that number with some foreign speaking woman.  I asked her to spell her name she said Shoulin.i I asked her to spell the name of the comapny, she spelled ESOLEIDING. Told be to go to start-up and do several things.. I let her go on for aboue a minute and I can,t write what my comment was to her.  She hung up on me! SCAM  SCAM  SCAM!

I also received a call say that my computer had download a virus. I ask a guy which computer. I have 5 computers which computer. He told me the one I use the most. I got a call at work from a guy with Indian accent telling me my computor has a virus.  Told him not interested and he said was not sales call.  Took 3 phone numbers from him and found this to be a scam.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent calling himself
"Austin" saying he had received an "error report" from my computer.  He wanted me to go to a website called www.logmein123, so he could "walk me through it."  I got suspicious and hung up.

I got the same phone call from a guy with an Indian accent.  He gets very frustrated when you don't do what he wants.  I've never known of a company that would call and just immediately start barking orders at you.  Then on top of that they want to fix it for free!  BULLSHISH!  If you get this call, hang up immediately or at least disconnect your computer.  ONe thing he said to me was that he was not able to get into my computer.  Thank goodness I had the sense to disconnect.  Who knows what they can access by being on the phone line with you.

Received a call from onlinepc care and unfortunately they sounded like they were legal.  I wish I had been more savvy about this call-have read where many people got taken in by hearing that they had a virus on their computer.

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.
