Calls, hangs up, says nothing after you say hello.

You have been carefully selected to participate in a short 30 second research survey pertaining to our nations debt crisis and for participating you will receive a free 2 day cruise for two people to the Bahamas curtesy of one of our supporters. Gratuities and a small port tax will apply. To begin the survey, please press 1 now. To decline the survey and be removed from our list press 9. Thank you."
I pressed '1'. The first question was recited. After me _not_ responding after about 3 seconds, they repeated the question. Again, no response from me, and a 3rd stating of the question. After the 4th attempt, they hung up.
So, at least I, by walking away from the telephone for 4 minutes, prevented them from scamming somebody else.

Hi:
Our phone number here at the cottage (on a party line rotary phone which does not allow me to access their automated response line, 1 to participate, 2 to decline and 9 to have the number removed from the call list). I don't know what the incoming number is as we obviously don't have call display. Bell cannot access the number as well to have the number removed. Maybe you can have more success. Area code 613-472-5044. The announcement comes in as "Hi, this is Anne, blah blah Concerns on Canada's growing debt crisis......participate in survery.....2 days in the Bahama's....." Can you stop these people? Good luck.

Does anyone believe their opinions are worth a cruise?!?! No doubt they need a credit card for the taxes and tips and you'll never get a cruise. Google "Ann from Political Opinions" and you'll get plenty of hits regarding this scam.
Other notes: Area code 647 is for South Central Ontario, but the caller id is probably spoofed.

The CEO is Mr Jody Schnarr
They rent Bell numbers and do auto calls for surveys and debt reduction etc--ALL SCAMS!!!!
They have many numbers and call from all over the country
Complain everytime you get one of these annoying calls

This number belongs to FIBERNETICS CORP Toronto and another office in Cambridge Ontario

Spend a little bit of effort, and find out who owns the exchange.
Every time you get a spam call from that exchane, use THEIR toll free line to call and complain.
Sooner or later they will tire of the complaints and deal with the spammer.
TO write a short note an go away - is both useless and meaning less.
You have to go after te service providers for these jerks.
