This number called, I answered. It was an (Asian-sounding) woman. She asked if I spoke Spanish...I said, Spanish no. She said Bye-Bye & hung up.

I have filed a formal complaint with the CRTC/National Do Not Call List after 3 calls from this number within 50 minutes tonight. Same nonsense about speaking Spanish based upon our surname. I'm sick of this.

I can not understand who will buy any service or whatever they are selling as a result of their harassment.
But they are proliferating, thanks to the incompetence of our government, incapable of enforcing the Do Not Call registry. And also thanks to the idiots that will go along and feed them buying their scams.

Once again, I got a call from some telecommunications company asking if I spoke Spanish to offer services....and once again as I said maybe, they hung up.....So I CALLED them ;) and asked to have my number removed!!! Guess what was there response? They hung up on me over and over again hehehehe

I have received numerous calls from this number as well. They are definietely latino scammers. After seeing the numerous posts from other phone victims, I do not understand why the authorities are not doing something about it. With todays technologie we should be able to trace the number to an owner and have them disconnected and charge them with phone harassment.
My advice to those who keep getting these calls, call your phone provider and have them blocked. Phone company's will block the caller and you shouldn;t receive these annoying calls anymore.

The number listed above calls our house at least 3 times per day. The woman speaks only in spanish and keep hanging up on us, I call back asking them not to call here again, but before I can finish my thoughts she hangs up.

The tables have turned on Nuevo Telecom (aka Culture Communications)! I have done a bit of research and here's what I want to share with all:
Nuevo Telecom is really "Culture Communications" and their address is:
151 Front Street
Toronto, ON M5J 2N1
They're located at Canada's biggest telecommunications hub which is run by Allied Properties. Please call their main office and ask to be connected to "Culture Communications". The building?s main number is (416) 365-1260.
Here's what to do if you get a call from these deadbeats:
1. File an online complaint with the CRTC: https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/plt-cmp-eng
2. File an online complaint with the federal Anti-Fraud Division: https://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/RECOL/login.aspx?lang=en
3. File an online complaint with the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Protection: https://www.consumerbeware.mgs.gov.on.ca/compform/english/complaint.asp
4. Call the RCMP in your province (see list on right for your province) and the national headquarters in Ottawa to report them: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cont/index-eng.htm
5. Write to them warning you will take them to Small Claims Court if they keep calling your number. Send the letter via registered mail so that you have a record for the courts. In the letter warn them they have been reported to the CRTC, RCMP, the federal Anti-Fraud unit and the Ontario Attorney General (Consumer Protection is part of the AG office) and put all numbers that they are calling and request a letter in writing from them or you will take them to court for violation of privacy (protected by provincial and federal law).
6. If they call you can hit *57 after the call to log that call with your provider's harassment division. This should be a free charge and if your provider charges you for it, dispute it. Telus and Bell offers it for free. Rogers charges but they shouldn't and therefore dispute the charge.
7. Contact the owner of the 647 number (Thinktel Communications; they rent the number to Culture Communications):

to contact Culture Communications and warn them to stop making these calls from their 647. Request a letter in writing from Thinktel and save it should the CRTC or courts require a subpoena of their records.

9. Call your local television and see if they have an consumer advocate who investigates frauds in the community. Bad publicity always works and hopefully Culture Communications will get the message.
Do this and turn the tables on these a-holes.

They are targeting people with Spanish surnames. What I suggest everyone who gets their calls is to file a harrassing phone call report with your local police department and have the police investigate the owner of this number. Once you have the police report and the owner's info, file a complaint with your provincial attorney general (do a Google search with words "Attorney General" and the name of your province/territory) and also do the same for the words "Consumer Protection" and the name of your province/territory)
I have complained to the CRTC numerous times about this company and they don't do anything. I have sued telemarketers in court and at the end have walked out with over $5,000 as a result of punitive damages against the telemarketer.

Call back the number also and give them a taste of their medicine. Block your number by dialing *67 and then the number.
By the way the name of the Company is Nuevo Telecom and they are based in Quebec. I called and spoke to a rep and she gave me the info. Call Quebec Registar of Corporations at (877) 644-4545
Call MTS AllStream (the number is registered to this company) at (800) 883-2054 and speak to someone in their abuse department to seek info on the owner of this company. Get the info and forward a copy of the police report to the owners warning them that they will be SUED if they continued.

They can't be very good telemarketers if they are trying to market a Spanish service in a primarily English demographic. They've called me a few times; got another call today. I thought they were a collection agency because a woman spoke English in heavily-accented Spanish and demanded that "Juan Carlos" call back immediately and left this number (which all appeared on my call display).
Maybe they've branched out into collections since the other "services" are a failure?
