We received a similar email  from a patent law firm in Japan,only the franchisee was Radio Shack in NY City. I thought this was a scam. I deleted the email I received.  Did you ever hear back from the scammers?

I received an email from a law firm in Hong Kong asking for a collection attorney to sue for $650,000 a Radio Shack franchisee in Fauquier County, Virginia.

I sent a Fee Agreement to the Law Firm in Hong Kong.  No receipt of signed Fee Agreement or Retainer.

Today received with no return address alleged Cashier's Check drawn on The Bank of Nova Scotia for $350,000 for "partial payment".  Check remitted by Peter Andrews at pndrews@financier.com.

Sent an email refusing to deposit check and indicating belief that this is a SCAM.   Will not deposit check.

This is a scam. Our law firm recieved a check today - said to be a cashier's check from Bank Of Nova Scotia - for $350,000. Supposed to be apartial settlement for a case/client we know nothing about.

Its a scam. I work for a collection firm a check for the same amount was sent to us claiming he worked at Radio Shack and the check was for $350,000 also same person different situation this was last week dont cash it

We were just given this number as being the contact number for a financier representing a purchaser who wants to buy a home in Howell, Michigan.  He has sent a $350,000 certified check drawn against the Bank of Nova Scotia.  The sale price was $500,000 and he is requesting a closing on or before March 1, 2012.  The financier's name is Peter Andrews.  The Purchasers name is Jim Park who is working in the Netherlands but lives in Toronto Canada.  Are you able to check for us that Jim Park and his wife, Carol, do, in fact live in Canada?
