Ok, I think I have figured it out. This guy sends you a a fake check for $3800. You take $400 of it and he gets $3400 and you get charged with a felony cashing a fake check.

I also applied for an Admin position on careerbuilder.com.... also got an email from Mr. Griffin, same as the rest of you.... terrible grammer/spelling (unprofessional), no company info, wants to send me a check to pay for travel & car rental (who uses checks!!!) and yes, I get to keep $400... first clue; who hires someone without a phone interview at least???? anyway, I reported it to careerbuilder sent them the email. Maybe something about this guy should be posted on FB or something, I just feel bad because their will be somebody who really needs a job and falls for this scam.

Yep, I got the same thing from him on Career Builder.com I knew it sounded fishy with the wording of his email and other obvious red flags. Don't take the bate and stay away.

this guy found me on career builder too. i'm sure its a scam. why would he want me to deposit a check in my account for him, and take 400 for my costs? Fishy. Very Fishy.

I applied as well and got an offer tooI. I got an email and was cautious in my response. ;-) I am staying clear and advise others to do the same. IF you want the job, it's yours however this gig could involve moral turpitude - and I'm not interested. Use your common sense and trust your gut - No matter how eccentric, the "employer" would want to speak with the individual they are sending a check to for cashing. Plahezzzeee.. Wunderin2 if you got the same form letter asking for name address etc.... Blah blah blah. I feel sorry for the fool looking for honest work who falls for this old shell game. I had my hopes up --sounded exciting. Wrong. BLOCK his email. You will get a VM msg if you call the # provided. ODD very ODD. Beware.b

this guy says he is Mark Griffin - found him on Career Builder emplyment site. He offered a Admin Asst position but it is strangely worded (foreign grammar and spellings). Career Builder says this might be a money laundering scam - they are investigating...anyone else know of this one?
