I got a similar call from a "Janelle," saying she's a property investor. She proceeded to ask me all the things I've got listed on comfree.com (for sale by owner site). I asked why she's repeating the house details back to me in question form...she made an excuse and hung up.
By the way, she sounded drunk and/or stoned.

I received the same call as everyone else
I would not give them any information other than what is on the listing, I told them I would not discuss financials over the phone that would have to be done in person.
I called the number back only to find it disconnects.
I seen on City news this is a scam and people are out there trying to sell homes.

Just received a call from this number.  They went through the same set of questions described previously, basically asking me what was already stated in our listing on the Property Guys website.  I asked if they would like to book a viewing and the response was that they would talk to their partner and they would call me back.

Sketchy call with same experience as MVP.  When I didn't provide the information that they were looking for.  the caller sounded very frustrated with my being unable to grasp the importance of this information.  My best guess is money laundering or counterfeit money.  I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

I received this call too. I tried to get info but they wouldn't tell me more than the last message indicated.

They asked what the lowest price I would take is and I told them to make an offer and see... He said ok thank you, we will call back if we would like to.

I just got off the phone with "Chan" at the same number. She wanted to know more about the property I have for sale, I asked if she was an agent or not (she sounded like she was on speaker phone or in a call centre, and she sounded scripted). She asked a few standard questions about the property (# of rooms and washrooms, do we still live there, why are you selling), then asked some more that were a bit odd:
- If I was to pay cash and want a quick closing, what would be the lowest you would go on the price?
- Do you have a mortgage on the property?

Of course, I didn't answer these questions. Instead I asked for more information about her...she said she's "an investor with a partner" and they would like to buy the property. The company's name (she said) is Statue Home Buyers and their website (when I asked for it since it didn't come up in Google's search results), www.statuehomes.net was "down" due to "site maintenance". A load of crap as the site doesn't exist at all.

Finally, I asked if she'd like to make an appointment to see the property. She said she'd have to call me back. That was the end of the call. I think she realized that I knew something was sketchy.

I received a call from Shannon.  She would like to talk to me about buying my house- a quick closing if possible.  Same number- no questions about the place for sale.

I am in the midst of selling my house and I got this message from a guy by the name of Sam who wanted to buy my house for "all cash" as he put it and he left this number to get back to him.  If he is really interested he can call back and make an appointment to come view the place.  Sounds odd that someone would call and not ask about the house but just offer money.......sounds like a scam to me!!
