OK here is the deal. I work for a large Industrial insurer. I do not have any involvement with credit card companies. My corporate phone number has been used by some phishing scam to telemarket you and others.I did speak to someone yeserday  but he did not give me time to explain.I do NOT work for GLOBAL ASSETS whoever they may be.  I worl for XL Insurance Company - Check their legitimate Web site they have  offices all over the world . They have no connection with credit cards NOR do they ever deal with the general public nor sell direct to general NOR telemarket.
As you point out I was jkind enough to leave y Cell phone number on my business phone - because I am legitimate and  I want my regular customers to be able to call me.
I appreciate why you and others may be annoyed by telemarketers I am too.
I am not one so please stop calling me at work or at home

I just spoke to this gentleman, and the poor soul has had his cell phone number hijacked for this purpose.  He is as much (or more) of a victim in this as are all of us.

Robodialer called my cell.  Answered call but didn't hear anything.  I am a CRTC do not call list.... a whole lot of good it does.  Some Toronto area number.  Very annoying :o(

Got a call...I think it might be somewhat blocked on my cell as I didn't hear it ring.  Very annoying.  I don't have my number anywhere, so must be robocalling.

Just recieved an automated call on my cell phone from these idiots today while working.  I answed it and all I got was some voice mail about credit cards. I answered it because people people have been dialing a number for a conference call and it is being routed to my cell phone and the conference call company asked for me to get the number they dialed and access code to try and correct the problem.

Anyways my cell phone has caller id and all that came up was 1(647)931-3893 Ontario, Canada.  I called them back to give them a piece of my mind but got the same message.  If this keeps up I will be filing a report with the RCMP, BBB, and Attorney General of Ontario.  If they call a cell phone they should be prepared to pay the charges for the calls.

All my contacts are tired of me not answering my cell...HATE this and ALL OTHERS LIKE IT!!!

Got a call from this number - did pick up but hung up when got an automated message.  Here is what you can do to block calls from this and other numbers - it works.  pick up your handset or turn you cell phone on as if to make a call - press "menu" and # key - enter 217 - press "add" and enter the number in question and then press "save" - to unblock follow same procedure but enter 213 instead of 217.  Good luck.

They just called me but left no message. they have called me on multiple other occasions but I never answered.  I was finally annoyed enough that I called them back and got an animated voice message indicating that "due to new legislation I was eligible for a new 0% interest rate on my credit cards"  I could get more information by pressing 1, or be removed from their call list by pressing 2.  I hope this actually works for them to stop caling me now. I've been on the do not call list for years.

Got a call at 11:30AM I didn't answer as I have call display and didn't recognize the number. No message was left. These calls should come under the label of harassement. Nothing but a huge nuisance and need to be stopped.

After refusing the call on my cell, I called back on a land line.  I explained this to the person I spoke with.  Evidently it is for people who owe over $4000 in credit card balance on Visa or Mastercard and have interest over 14%. I told them I don't qualify as I don't owe and they said they would remove me from the list.  Not sure how she planned on doing this as I didn't give my cell number.  I guess that's just a line they are obligated to say at the end of a conversation, regardless of their intent to act on it.

They called here today and said they were offering the chance to buy stocks using your credit card...

I got call from these guys and I always let it go to voice mail.  There is no voice in it, just some background sounds and it hangs up in 5 seconds.  I hope they stop calling,

In my opinion, these dolts are scammers, hence the rude way they deal with people who don't want to be called. If they were legit/legal, they'd handle delete from list requests (PIPEDA covers your personal information and, regardless of the Do Not Call list, you have every right to tell a company what's acceptable use of personal information).

But they're not, IMO. They're blind dialing entire exchanges hoping to hook people into what I believe is a scam. They take your personal information and use it for fraudulent purposes or outright identity theft.

If representatives of the company would like to refute my opinion on it, they can feel free to do so. You'll find they won't.

Yeah they called me today at (aug, 13 - 1:57pm) and they left a voicemail and it was strange i cant understand it just it sounds like i need the money idk so scary

To fight them is to call them and call their lines over and over and over again just as they call us!  I was able to speak with someone and I hung up on them just as they hang up on me.  I'm going to spend an hour one day calling them repeatedly and see what happens.  I've added them as a 'contact' on my cell as they keep calling even though I opted out.

They are likely just dialing number after number.....

yes, i got  two consecutive calls from them too few minutes ago and i missed both of them. I was planning to call back to see who is it but decided to checked online first in case its scam. Luck that I did!!!

Got a call about an hour ago on my cell. I am on the national DNC list and will be reporting.
