and since it was an outside area code (always suspicious) I just had it go to my voice mail.
No message in voice box, but knowing now it's a robot I am not surprised:)

I think the medicine here might be to have your number market from receiving marketing calls, you can do this through your carrier I believe.
These companies don't hoard these numbers, they go to a "marketing" company that collects them from the phone companies, paying the phone company for a massive numbers list, then sells them to idiots that decide to bother the rest of us.
So, I think if you register your number as non-recipient of marketing calls you can take them to court, or at least that's how it should work:)

This number called my cell first in the mid-afternoon, then the following day in the morning.

got a call from the same number but I don't think its directed towards any 1 provider i've been with telus when they were clearnet some 10-12 years now and they have my number, when ever i don't recognized the  number i send it to voicemail... if no message is left it must be a telemarketer is what i have learnt from my experience

never answered but i think TD bank is the culprit at selling numbers on trade lists,i put nothing past bank these days..they do control the modern world after all

Same here. They called at 1:29 pacific time. I answered and hung up after 3 seconds once i figured out what it was. They called back at 3:28 ( Note  exactly two hours later). I didnt answer. I use someone else's suggestion and created a contact " Bulls**t Telemarketer" and will never answer again.

I am always suspicious when they tell you how to remove your number from their list.  There is no better way to findout if a number is valid in a list than having people pressing on a key. I am even more suspicious  as someone said earlier that after pressing on two, they didnt acknoledge that they were removed from the list.

Ladies and gentleman, lets face it, our numbers are on a list and this companie that called us has questionable products to offer and questionable business practice.

I am glad that i found this forum. I am not alone raging against telemarketers.

I received a second call from 780-737-8989 with same message as I said above.  In it together.

I received this call didn't answer it at all.  I never answer numbers I don't recognize if its really important they will leave a voice mail and I can call them back if need be.

Telus user - did not pick up as I don't answer unknown phone numbers. One worded message that I could not understand. I'm on a pay as you go plan so I just wasted 2 minutes with the voice mail message.  AAAHHH!

I get calls from this service almost daily. I'm listed on the do not call registry, and that doesn't even make a difference. So annoyed.

A three minute message, really!? Dislike spam callers!!!

I don't believe that it would be the carriers giving out numbers. Probably just robo calls randomly calling random numbers.

I just got this call from this number also. Strange, for me, no one answer. I'm beginning to think the one called record my sound hopefully not for a crime or something similar. I already put this number on reject list call. (>,<) I believe any telephone company never really protect client's privacy anyway... Why else we got so many text messages and call for telemarketing products/services?!

I sort of just got this call - my phone never rang.  A message just appeared in my voice mail.

Received a call and got a VM with the tail end of the same message that the rest of you have reported. Called back from a work landline and hit "2" (purportedly the option to be removed from the list) and it just hung op on me. Complaint filed with the CRTC.

Same here. In Toronto. Re some credit issue and asking you to dial '1' for info.

How would someone use a # with area code 647? At least 1-888 # or something. Only for the phones without call display.

So many telemarketing calls nowadays. Some were so really impolite.

Dudes, If u use a smart phones use your Call settings to add that number into a reject list ... or forward it to 911 :D ... one move a** kick!

2nd spam call from this number in two days.  Recorded message, female with British accent.

Got called from this number today too. I'm on Mobilicity.

Don't know who or where caller is from but.....
For those with smartphones, download a call blocking app and program these nuisance calls to be blocked from your phone. Then you'll never be bothered by the same callers again. At home, if you have a cordless phone, check to see if it has a call blocking function. Mine allows the offending caller half a ring before it cuts them off.  Call Block....it's our only defense against repeat robo-callers.

What you are all do not realize is that whoever makes these call is using a dialing robot which dials all numbers in sequence. Has nothing to do with whoever your phone company is or was!!!!!!!!
