My friend just called me from NZ, using a phone card, and this number showed  on my caller ID.

this is a call from someone using a "kia ora" phone card, people use it to make cheaper calls from their nz landline to cellphone numbers within nz. calls from anywhere in nz will come up on caller id with the same (auckland) number.

My mother receeved a call from this number on her cellphone asking for me by name... Pretty weird. They hung up as soon as she said she wasn't me. They never called my cellphone

I got a call from it and it said turks and caico but it ended up being my niece in New Zealand she had no clue why it said that as she was calling from her house and that's not her number..weird

Yes, it really is from a calling card used in NZ and routed through Turks Caicos. (Not Turkey.) I get calls all of the time from family to NA through the service.

I received a call from this number on my cell phone and land line.  However, it was a friend in New Zealand calling me and he left a voice message, but I could not call back and it sounded like a disconnected number.  But after reading the above, it must be a phone card that my friend used. Will wait until he calls again and ask him and then will post what he tell me.

Got a call from this number on my cell phone, which, incidentally woke me up after only about two hours of sleep.  Having been dragged from a deep sleep I was slow the answer the phone; they left no message and when I tried to call back it wouldn't ring, only made a tone and hung up immediately.  I see that it's a number from Turkey; I know no one in Turkey, so I shan't be answering if they call back.

I have an aunt & uncle who live in NZ.  They always use a phone card to call the states.  I can definitely verify that this is the norm.  They used to call on my landline using phone cards and I would not answer as these were very unusual numbers (Cat messed up my voicemail).  I finally gave them my cell and can answer it with much better assurance it is them.  Occasionally, I will forget and they leave a message.  The numbers do change due to the phone card.  If you try to call back, it will not work as it is a phone card.  

Oh, btw, the calls may come quite late at night as the time difference between U.S. regions and New Zealand can be between 17 to 19 hours.

I've had calls from this number all week. Got hacked online and think same crowd. Hope they die and burn in hell as they have caused me no end of trouble.

I had 2 missed calls today. I searched the area code and I found a report from sprint that it is a scam. The # is 1-649-247-9010. If anyone receives a call from this # dont call back. They will charge you for the call and keep the money. I dont know how it works but just google it and you will see a report from sprint about it.

Got a call from my husband, who went to New Zealand.  He was using a phone card, and this number came through on my cell phone, with the designation "Turks and Caicos Islands."

Got a call from this number today. Tried to return the call but it is apparently unavailable.

Received a call from this number at 12.38am this morning. Tried to return call and it states the number you have called is not currently active. Very strange to see other people have gotten this!!
