I got a text that said "Helo Mike u there?" I replied "who is this" and got a reply saying message me on Yahoo messenger at the username textflirt774.

I got the same text message from 520-441-4516. They knew my first name, which is unusual, so I thought it might really be a friend. Searches on the mobile number turned up nothing, only that it was from Tucson. I don't know anyone in Tucson.
Texted, "Who is this?" back and got reply: "LOL if you wanna know who this is you got to add me on Yahoo msger. My ID is txtgirly651."
Searching for the Yahoo ID pulled up this chain. Passing along additional information in case any one else can use it to avoid phishing.

I had something similar to Bill, a text that said "Hello Brian," I replied simply and never heard anything back.

Got a text that simply said, "Hello Bill?". I did a very quick reverse lookup, and thought it could be a friend that might be in the area. I replied with, "Who is this?", about 10 mins after the initial contact. I have not received any reply. I'm assuming this text is phishing, and I have bitten by confirming this is an active number. I just hope that this is only sales, not viral, or data mining.
