Two nights in a row with Jeff Stewart and his veterans group collecting money.  A person just can't get a word
in with this guy.  Well, I hoping my call blocking feature on my phone works....

This is a second call I received from this number in a week.  The guy's name is Jeff and is trying to collect for an agency working with injured vets.  This is a scam.  I'm supposed to be on a do not call list and I'm still being bother with this type of garbage?  Other than disconnecting a landline phone, how do you stop this stuff?

Makes me wonder how do you get a job making phone calls like this and who would want to. It's a sad state of affairs when that's how you have to make a living. By the way I just don't answer unless I recognize the number.

Recvd 3 calls in the past 24 hrs, one after 9pm cst.  I don't answer calls if I don't know the # or the name on the caller ID, The phone rings three times, ID reads :Palo Alto, CA  650 618 9774.  Our recorder picks up at 4-5 rings, so they never leave a message.... or show the call as completed on the Phone Co. records.
I believe this is on an auto outcall from some telemarketer/scammer, they usually are.

The Do Not Call List is useless against this kind of criminal activity, they just start up with a new number and a new scam, Political calls, or a subsid of a company you have done business with (gray area).

What we should have is Call Blocking or Allowed Calls as a option from Telcos so we can block Political calls and everything else we don't want...we pay to have a phone, not to be harassed!  Robo calls frm the Police/Fire Depts would be exempt for emergency purposes.

If it was a legitimate American Vet Agency, wouldn't the caller ID reflect that instead of just showing
Palo Alto?  I'm filing a complaint with the FCC.

Says they are some sort of veterans support group that I had never heard of. Told them I only deal with groups I recognize and they were not one of them, then promptly hung up.

Caller ID read "Palo Alto, CA".  I usually don't answer calls that I don't recognize, but I picked up this time.  It took several seconds for a guy to identify himself as "Steve" with some American Veteran's something or other.  I cut him off mid sentence with "sorry, can't help you" and hung up.  We are not obligated to answer, listen, or be polite to strangers who call.

I got a call from this Palo Alto today and was not home.  What part of "Leave a message after the tone" don't they understand.  They left a message that was "hello, hello" and hung up.  I am so tired of getting calls like this from places that I have never heard of.

Called this afternoon, there was someone on the other end, I said hello several times and then they hung up.  Call said Palo Alto, CA.  

Same story here. Called from "incoming" and didn't even show up as a missed call on Caller ID .... number finally showed up an hour later as (650) 618?977?4 on my telephone server. Left no message.

They call; however, I do not answer and they hang up without leaving a message.  It is an unwanted call.

Phone number is Caller-Id:    (650) 618-9774. Calls my work line every night after 5pm. My voicemail clearly says it is a business but they keep trying. It is annoying and this person needs to be stopped.

A man called and claimed to be calling on behalf of the American Veterans Support Foundation. He was asking for money. I explained that, due to a very serious illness, my medical bills are more than my spouse brings home. We are facing foreclosure because we haven't been able to balance the mortgage payments and the $187,000 in medical bills that insurance hasn't covered. The caller said the reason for the call was not to overburden me and then he asked for a minimum donation of $15 or more. I asked if he was kidding and explained to him that my family is having to choose between my potentially life-saving medications or food and I explained that If I had $15 I would use it to purchase school lunches for my hungry child. Eventually I hung up on the caller. During the entire call the tone of his voice was pushy, mean, uncaring, and rude. Assertive is one thing...but obnoxious, rude, pushy and mean are another. When I tried to search for American Veterans Support Foundation online I found only a single-page website. The organization looks like a fake.

The telephone number they call has nothing to do with whether you are a Veteran or not, as they called my home phone yesterday and I am not a Veteran and have had this phone number for 7 years....

I just received a call from 650-618-9774 and caller id showed PALO ALTO, CA.  They rang twice and then hung up.  I just checked the number on www.reversegenie.com and got a pic of where it came from.  It's a landline number and I'll be reporting it to the FCC along with the photo I saved.  I support the Vets and do not appreciate it when scum like this try to take advantage of them.

This is very interesting. I never get a call from 650-618-9774 until I make a donation to the Disabled Veterans. This is the only donation I make due to limited income. I really did not make a connection until now. I have not questioned my donations  - they seem legitimate. However, I will call the DAV and ask them to make note of the calls.  While I have their attention I'll verify that my donations have gone to them. Did not answer, but other comments imply that these calls target veterans.  How does the caller get this information?  How would they have any idea that my current phone number has anything to do with someone who happened to serve 45 years ago.  I'm hoping someone, the VA, the FBI, whomever, looks into this.

This tel. Number has been showing up several times a day on mt telephone for the past week. I am glad I checked this page. I refuse to answer even more so, now. U. S army vet, Vietnam 68-69

This caller is using a Pac-West landline phone as is calling from Palo Alto, California.  I notified the national organization for AMVETS as well as the local branch of the FBI in Palo Alto since falsely representing military service/status is now a federal crime.  I am a real veteran, so thank you for the assistance in putting this dirtbag where he belongs.

Caller from 650-618-9774.  He claims to be calling from the American Veterans Support Foundation in Eatontown, NJ and stated his name was Jeff Stewart.  The phone call occurred at 10:30 PM local time in New Jersey.  Federal and state civil complaints filed, the AMVETS national organization notified, and local law enforcement in Eatontown and my area notified.  I stated that I was on the Federal "Do Not Call Registry", but he stated that as a representative of a volunteer organization, it did do apply to him.  If he wants a war, he has got one now.

They called me. I didn't answer and they hung up. So yep, I think it's a spammer
