Received a call from 650-739-8458 threatening arrest for racketeering. Have no idea what these two want. Heavy Latino accent for both.  Another site claims this number is involved in a scam and the Feds are looking into it. These two want a 5,000 Money Order sent to the Dominican Republic or they will have me arrested.

it is a scam
they are pretending to be the dea- and they try to really act out this scenario
tell them that the fbi is tracking them and know they are calling from a 650 area code
this really ticks me off
they called me too

These criminals called a friend of mine who had ordered drugs online and threatened her in a similar manner.   When they called her again, we told them that she wouldn't be paying the fine but that she would surrender herself to the DEA through her lawyer.  That shut them up.  Then I called the number back, got their voicemail instead, guessed the password, and hacked into their voicemail account.  I changed the password, and then recorded the warning message that's on the line now.  I OWN that voice mail box now.  If you want to leave me a message there, go right ahead!  I'd LOVE to hear from you!

Looks like they've been hacked.  Call their number back (650-739-8458) and listen to the greeting and then leave a message if you'd like.  Hilarious.

Elizabeth Braxton from the "DEA" called. I called them and they had the order data from ChatCP.com, an old online pharmacy. Long series of threats of arrest/court-dates/subpoena/jail...but then an offer to reduce charges to a fine if I would pay them $1800 over the phone. Yeah right.
Old online pharmacy data is being swapped all over the 3rd world. I get half a dozen calls a day with new scams like this.

Just hang up.

i received the same call from a woman with a thick latino accent claiming to be the dea agent. The first time I just pushed some buttons and listened to hear if she said anything.  I heard her say something so i hung up.  She then called again and left a message. She said "This is Elizabeth braxton calling with the dea.  She said I hope u did not just hang up on me.  Please call me back."
I googled as well and found this.
Scarry but so glad i found some relief knowing a scam it is.

I JUST received a call, very similar to what the other posters experienced, and I got furious!  I was accused of smuggling something from the Dominican Republic (if you knew me you'd know how ludicrous this is..), but they didn't get as far as asking me for money.  I think I would have come through the phone.
When I told the man that he obviously has the wrong person, he threatened me with arrest, subpoena, etc. and told me he'd see me in court.
I think telling them that the Feds were tracking them down was a great idea.  I would really like to report this somewhere.  Any ideas??  Some poor soul is going to send these thieves money.  Where can this number be reported??? This kind of nonsense shouldn't be allowed and sure can't be legal.

I just received a phone call today, on my cell from a man with a very thick Latino accent, claiming to be a DEA Agent, and he went as far as to announce a badge number, claiming he issued a subpoena ect... I was laughing at first. But shortly became irratated by the accusation and harassment.

Just received the same call. I was told I had police outside my "address", which he refused to identify. As soon as I smelled a rat, I had "phone problems" hung up and wouldn't answer the phone again. As stated above, law enforcement wouldn't notify anyone in advance, and tell me I was going to receive a copy of the subpoena in the mail and the I was facing racketeering charges. They couldn't even identify the correct agency! Both men also had "thick" Latino accents. I immediately Googled the phone number and found this site.  I traced the number to Palo Alto, California, not where the "officer" told me he was located.

More than likely this is a foreign "online phone" user in Central America or the Caribbean or Central America. Almost a year ago, I had a similar call who also wanted a Moneygram or Western Union sent to the Dominican Republic. They also had very thick Latino accents.

NOTE - They just called me again a few minutes ago, and I told them the Feds were tracking him down, and they are aware of the 650 area code. I told him the appropriate Federal agency would be contacting him. He hung up. Definately a scam!

this is a scam.  No law enforcement agency would ever call to request money or even call to let you know of a pending arrest.  Do not fall for this scam.  The DEA knows about it and is trying to spread the word to as many people as possible.
