I called the fax number they provided (866) 445-1889, not realizing it was a fax number. I reached an insurance company in Ohio and they had no clue what I was talking about. Sounds like a scam.

this company is not a real company i dont want them calling me.
Lorraine 2010-02-17 20:56:55 Unknown
I received the same thing, although the phone number was different. Good to know that folks are outing these scam companies by putting them on boards such as this one....
""You are very qualified for our job opening, and more so than the other 13 applicants I have received resumes from.
The selection process is almost done. Pruman only asks for a phone interview to see what all you are able to give to our company.

My response after applying for a real estate investor office assistant position 10 days previously is below. Also, I Googled their Web Presence: http://RDYLLC.com. Who says "Web presence", anyway? Their terms of use and privacy policy links on the page take you to an opt in page to enter your name and I don't know all what. What legit site makes you enter personal info before they tell you their privacy policy and terms? It is a fake site. All dead giveaways. They used a different phone number than what others are saying they received, but still the same area code of 650. Dead giveaway again. If you click on more sites after Googling this "company's 'web presence'", more crap comes up, if you want to waste your time reading it. I did not respond to their reply, obviously.
Hello Sonia _____ (My Last name was in the blank area. A dead giveaway right there), it's fantastic to speak to you.
I appreciate you e-mailing us.
You are definitely qualified for the current job position, and more so than the other 14 people I have received e-mails from.

I applied to jobs on craigslist and somewhere in there I hit a bad bunch and now I'm getting spam calls, texts, and emails about the jobs I applied for. I got an email from RDY LLC asking me to verify my phone number with another scam website.
I appreciate you e-mailing us.
You seem extremely qualified for our position, and more so than the other 18 people I have received applications from.

I also received an e-mail from Shelby Edwards @ RDYLLC saying I was the best qualified for the job out of 13 others. I too had trouble e-mailing my credit scores back. I did look up the company on the internet and they seemed to be legit. I do have the number to cancel my card from being debited for monthly membership charges! I applied for the job through the unemployment office thinking it would not be a scam! I am disappointed to think people would stoop low enough on those of us truly trying to find employment in todays economic mess!
blewis323 2010-02-05 01:29:20 Unknown
Hey guys just so you know this company has contacted me on two separate occasion and both times it turned out to be a scam. Me and my wife did some investigating and found out that their contacting people on the regular trying to get them to go through some unknown sites. DON'T DO IT!!!!. No companies exist, don't do any credit checks, phone verification, or any other unnecessary paths to get a job. The credit check charges you $24 a month. The phone verification is crap also, Porter LLC.,as well as Pruman LLC. are frauds.
bill 2010-02-05 01:22:33 Unknown
What a bunch of do***e bags...same thing happened to me. RDY LLC. Thank god my email wouldn't send anything through. Can a good lawyer take legal action against these guys?

Identity Thieves Prowling for Job Seekers
Fake job ads up 345% as recession creates opportunities for scam artists
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2009/03/job_scams.html
March 9, 2009
With the unemployment rate rising and living costs going up, more people are looking for new jobs or second jobs. These are ideal conditions, it turns out, if youâ??re an identity thief.
Job seekers will register with employment agencies, check employment ads, mail out unsolicited resumes, network, post resumes on job search sites and search Craigslist.
In fact, the UK Association for Payment Clearing Services which tracks the prevalence of fake job ads said that fake ads are up 345 percent over the past three years. Unfortunately identity thieves are taking advantage of these uncertain economic times to scam job seekers and gather personal identifying information.
The Identity Theft Resource Center offers these tips:
? Protect your Social Security Number by limiting how many people see it. Never put your SSN on a resume. Let a company ask for it when they consider you a serious applicant. To minimize your risk, you also may want to not list your home address and just put your city and state on the resume.
? Consider opening a separate email account for your job search and keeping your primary email address private. Placing your email address on a resume could open the door to spam and phishing, account verification, and other email scams. (The recent Monster.com breach exposed resumes and email addresses. If you had placed your Social Security number or home email address on your resume, you could have made yourself a target.)
? Check out a company you found on a website carefully before giving them your information, for example Craigâ??s List. Anyone can create a website, but it doesnâ??t mean that they are a real company. You can find information on a company through the Better Business Bureau or the State Attorney General where the company is located. You can also Google the business to find out more about them. Most reputable companies will have a significant presence on the Internet, not just a few mentions.
? Avoid any website that requires you to â??pre-registerâ? with your SSN, home address or driverâ??s license number. Also, you should not be required to prepay to view job listings. Both these requirements are strong indicators of a scam.
? Update your computer security prior to emailing resumes and receiving email correspondence. Making sure your computer security is currently updated against viruses, Trojans, and other types of computer malware can help to protect you from any intrusion in an attachment you might receive.
? Make sure the person who contacted you actually works at the listed company and is not someone who has posted a job pretending to be part of a company. Does the URL address include the name of the company? If not, who actually sent it? Call the company involved, and ask for the Human Resources Department. Some companies recommend not responding via email to any person asking for more information, but rather to call the company directly. Rarely does a company hire someone sight unseen.
? Be wary of some common job scams. Avoid any company, especially a foreign company that wants to hire you as a â??payment representative â??orâ? accounts receivable clerk.â? This scam indicates that you get to keep a percentage of all checks or money orders you place in a bank account for them. Do not open a bank account for a company. You will be the responsible party should any money laundering occur, or if checks bounce. This is called a â??money mule scam.â?
Another scam is to notify you that you are one of the finalists for a job, and they need your Social Security number to do a background check. If you have not had a face-to-face interview with the company, you should be very skeptical. No one gets a job based on a resume alone.
Finally, watch out for the â??work-at homeâ? scams, especially those that ask you to â??forwardâ? packages you receive to a third party. That package may contain stolen goods or illegal drugs. There is rarely need to have a private party as a â??freight forwarder.â?
The safest ways to job search are to use local want ads, visit the unemployment office, use temp employment services, tell friends and family about your search, and network via professional groups and business acquaintances. When contacting a local company you can meet them, see the facilities, and ask acquaintances in that industry about their reputation. Consider not contacting foreign companies, especially those from Nigeria, Russia and third world countries.
Should you decide to use the Internet, ITRC strongly recommends that you read the safety tips on job seeking websites and report any suspicious posting to the website concerned.

I totally agree, people that do this to honest and hardworking individuals is cruel. If you don't respond they will email you back using another name like RDY, LLC. Just think if someone really wants to contact you for a position then they will call you. Never trust emails regarding further information "to process your application."
Roy 2010-02-04 15:55:16 Unknown
There is TRULY something wrong, there is no company called Pruman. Never give your S.S. number to anyone over the internet, no job requires you to do that on the computer.
Jacko 2010-02-04 12:36:10 Unknown
be careful they are now using a number attached to craig's list -310-928-7055.This is just another way to try and steal your identity. They are now asking for your phone number for a phone interview.

Im not to sure what exactly the scam is...because they said only reply with the credit number and nothing else. My guess was that they are using that link to get information. Dont take my word for it because that is my guess. But today I got a phone call from 904-620-7600 and since I didnt recognize the area code or number I did not answer and they left a voice mail saying i could make payments on my debt to this one website or to call back a 1-888 number. I looked up the 904 number and there were posts written about that too. So im not sure if it has to do with the Pruman scam or what.
Gina 2010-02-03 02:00:20 Unknown
This is definitely a scam!!!!! They say you are the best qualified and want your credit score, leading to a link that they can get your credit card number if you follow through. Ther is no such address or phone number or company called Porter LLC or Pruman. Be carefull!!!!!!
Be Careful 2010-02-02 22:10:06 Unknown
Same story as everyone else who has posted here. This is a scam. Please don't fall for it. Here's the email that was just received:
From: Human Resources <Careers@PuilmanLLC.com>
Subject: Re: Data Entry Specialist - We are thrilled to talk to you
To: XXX
Date: Tuesday, February 2, 2010, 10:16 AM
Hey XXX, it's wonderful to speak to you.
I appreciate you e-mailing us. In case my posting was not extremely clear, the responsibilities of this position are as follows: you will be answering the main phone and taking messages whenever applicable, you will be scheduling our company meetings, and running errands for the company for things such as purchasing supplies and making the bank deposits (you will always be provided with a company car). While you are running errands, you will also be given one of our company credit card(s) for all business purchases.
You are very qualified for the current position, more so than the other 13 applicants we received e-mails from. I would like to take the next step with you. However, before I am able to schedule a formal meeting, our company will require that you obtain a recent(from the past 10-15 business days) credit report. We, at Puilman LLC, enforce this because the company have unfortunately had a few bad incidents with former employees taking advantage of having access to a company credit card.
Both the company and I strongly suggest it that you use http://creditscore2010usa.com to obtain your report as they are offering the check at zero cost to you(unlike other places). We have also found that their scores always report the most factual information compared to others.
After you submit all required information, their company will show your personal credit report. Afterwards, you will need to e-mail my department your reported credit score, a daytime phone number, and your availability times to set up an interview.
Please do not email me your entire credit report, as it will have private information. If you currently have a less than desirable credit score, it does not prevent you from a position with us. Personally, I had a fairly low score whenever I started here.
If you do not wish to complete a recent credit check, unfortunately we will need to meet with our second choice.
Honestly, I am wanting to fill this position with a friendly face and looking to your quick reply.

I got an email from Faith Wood saying I was more qualified then the other 15 apps they got. The email wanted me to verify my phone number.
forbes 2010-02-02 19:49:31 Unknown
same here! my boyfriend told me it sounded fishy so i called my mom and she checked it out and she thought it was legit too.
forbes 2010-02-02 19:46:32 Unknown
same thing happened to me from madeline hawkins, puilmanLLC. "best out of 23"!! such a crock... why do they want my credit score?? what would anyone do with just that? also, who or what could this even be?
skamdeath 2010-02-02 18:29:11 Unknown
Yes, it is a scam. The craigslist spammers take advantage of the affiliate programs offered by the credit report sites, who pay the affiliates for each person who does a credit check.
Becky 2010-02-01 20:49:05 Unknown
Yep, I have been trying to apply for an office position. Same thing. Best of eleven, credit score, etc sent to Alexis at Pruman, llc. Luckily, I haven't been able to email back any info. Finally found this board in my efforts. I am not going to waste more energy or time down this route. If it is a scam, I don't know what it is and, isn't it horrible the people that prey on those looking for honest work?
S Parks 2010-01-30 06:05:25 Unknown
I got mine earlier today, I was the best applicant out of 21! I didn't see these posts until now and I did get my credit report and credit score but I only sent my credit score no other information. What's the scam, she even wrote in the email do not send all the information. Are they scamming info through the link for the credit report it was Transunion? I will put a watch on all my accounts first thing tomorrow morning just to be sure.
Jill 2010-01-30 05:24:35 Unknown
The SAME thing happened with me. It seemed a little fishy to me that they wanted my credit score...So before i did the credit score i tried to go to the website that they gave to me and it was a forbidden site so i tried calling the number that was given and they said "Due to the overwhelming response to the job ad we placed, we cannot get to every caller, just follow the instructions in the email and we will call you back in the next few days" But i was the best out of the other 13 applicants that had applied. It was to good to be true. I hope people read this because if it wasnt for you Brandi they would my my credit score and personal information as well.
Kylie R 2010-01-30 02:21:12 Unknown
I lured into thinking Pruman was a real company that had a real opening in my town. but I tried to e-mail the company back and my e-mails kept getting returned. I gave out no personal info thank goodness
Travis 2010-01-29 23:17:05 Unknown
Based on HR law... what they are asking is illegal. so yea.
Lauren 2010-01-29 22:49:16 Unknown
I got the same email and when I tried to respond the email didn't go through. I found this odd and after calling and leaving a message I tried to google the company and this is all I found. I had no idea that it was not ok to ask for your credit score right off the bat so now I am concerned that some of the other people that asked me for it are also scammers. the downside being that they have it already. I honestly don't know what to do now. I really don't get what they could do with it. I mean have have no credit.
Chris 2010-01-29 22:18:40 Unknown
Wow i did the same thing.. got an email saying i was more qualified then the rest blah blah blah.. wanted me to do the credit score thing and then i google prumanLLC.... damn scams!
Marie 2010-01-29 22:07:46 Unknown
I have had several companies that i have sent my resume to have asked me for my credit report. I have just deleted their info and just disregarded the email.
Court 2010-01-29 21:13:24 Unknown
Oh dear. Glad I stopped... When I got to the website and it asked me to get my credit score I knew something was wrong because if a company wants to employ you they do not ask to know your credit score prior to interviewing you. That is one of the last things that they will ask of you and they will usually extend an offer of employment depending on the outcome. It's not the first thing. Plus, that isn't even a local number BY FAR for me either!! Total scam. And I got the same e-mail too saying that she like my resume more than the other 24 applicants.
Meissa 2010-01-29 20:31:06 Unknown
The company was called Pruman, LLC. I think it might be a scam.
