That's funny-that $5.00 will stop the phone calls. I pay 50 to 100 a month, but because I fell behind at some point they feel justified in calling my phone 10 times a day on an average. Also, they use different phone numbers assuming that you're stupid enough not to recognize that it's them. I incurred this bill because I had a sick cat and have probably paid 5 times the original amt. and yet the balance rises because of the phenomenal finance and late charges. I'm ready to try the OCC.

Due to major health issues and medical bills, the last several months have created a new kind of torture for me.  I had serious fiancial problems, and I have been working with an authorized credit counseling program to put together a DMP (Debt Management Proram).  Four companies that I had a small loan with all agreed to the proposal which was put in place two months ago.  Most all collection calls stopped once monthly payment arrangements were in place.  However, today I received a call from this number (GE Money), and the caller could barely speak English.  I think s/he said my balance was $600.  I honestly could not understand 90% of what was said.  I carefully explained that the repayment plans have been approved, instituted, and in place for over two months.  I asked them to stop calling me, and I reported this to my CCCS advisor.  If it is necessary for them to call me to ensure I am sticking to the agreed-upon plan, then they should make sure that whomever is calling can at least speak and understand MY language.  I can only hope the call was recorded (as s/he threatened), so someone, somewhere, at some point will hear my side of the conversation.

Matchoo,

When one hits hard times, you want to pay but can't make the min. payment...$5.00 a week or month or etc. "should" at least show your attempt to continue to pay and not ignore your responsibilities.

Pathetic? Maybe some who run up bills knowing that they will never or could never pay, however I believe most people go into such "contracts" with these companies in good faith then hit a snag along the way.

Maybe that's naive of me or just cautiously optimistic about people.  Either way, insults rarely produce productive results.

lamet,
I tried your link and this is what I found...

**OTS is Now Part of the OCC
See OCC Website for Up to Date Information**

The original site is no longer maintained and will direct you to the current link.

The new link is http://occ.gov/

And yes, GE Money is totally relentless.
Thanks for the information.

I had a similar situation.  I called them for a balance payoff.  They gave it to me, and I paid it off and CLOSED the account.  Now they are trying to get supposed back interest for $500.  This company is impossible to deal with.

The company is Ge Money d.b.a. CareCredit. GE Money is a Credit card source (spoken:Scary) that allows people with low credit (Beacon) ratings to start out on a the cruddy road to credit and
amass (<--- Careful with that last part of the word) debt and hopefully pay it down/off. It comes with a substantially higher than usual interest rate. Its NOT a good choice for starting out on the road to making your Beacon look good. Their "alter-ego" is Care-Credit. You'll find these 22% interest rate  monthly cowards waiting to "help" you when you need it. That means: your at the Dentists office with a broken tooth you've had to deal with for two weeks before they'd see you. You do NOT have $600 to put "down" on the crown and temporary. Viola! CareCredit. Or worse, these (TOS EXPLETIVE REMOVED -Admin) people are at the Veteranarians office where the treatment of a family pet is dire and expensifve and your darling babies look up at you and say: "Please don't let her die, Mommy! Please!? I'll be good! I promise!!" and there you go, Care Credit - Don't be fooled, they dont "Care".

Never missed a payment, current on all credit cards - and they did two things: Jacked interest rate to 29.99% and reduced the credit line due to "economic conditions."

Sorry, but my economic conditions are bad too.  So I made a change in the terms myself:  I'm willing to pay 20% in a settlement.  Nothing more, no payments.

Fortunately, my phone directs any Caller ID number that I specify to a prerecorded announcement that tells them what my new terms are.  Of course, since their calls are by machine and my answers are by machine, I'll let the two machines talk to each other.  That doesn't bother me...  ;)

I also got several calls on my cell phone from  (651) 286-5013
I called the number after hours (using a public phone - never on my cell phone)and it just said " Welcome to Card Services" and they stated their office hours. I called this number after office hours. They left several calls but did not leave a message. if it was that important they would leave a message. And if the company will not identify themselves then why call them back.

I just received a call from this number on my cell phone.  No voicemail.  If it isn't important enough to leave a voicemail, it isn't important enough for me to call them back.

This number called me today. A lady named Donna was on the line. They asked to speak to me, but I would not give them any information as to whether or not it was me on the line until they annouced what company they were calling from. She refused to give the information so I hung up. If a company does not announce itself then they don't want to collect money that is owed to them.

Yes...I get these calls too. It's funny how divorce, the economy and trying to survive it all brings out the vultures. Maybe I am "pathetic" for not being able to stay on top of my bills. But I do the best I can with what I have.

Hello

Everyone, thanks for the site so we have a chance to talk about all these crazy phone calls. The best solution now I got is to block all of these guys away and have a good night sleep, good dinner, good family time...How ?

1. Buy a new Pansonic Phone DECT 6.0 Plus which has silent mode, call display and call block function mine is KX-TGA652B/C  (the best) and also KX-TGA402C. It costs some money but it gives you peace. Details here in Panasonic official site

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronic ... 000000000005702

2. Go for the IP phone (internet phone) around $ 10 per month and it will have call display and everything. Cheap for long distance too.
I got italkbb and it is wonderful  Italkbb official site http://www.italkbb.com/bb/enu/news_release_050927-1.asp
3. Go to this site and learn how to block a call Ehow official site http://www.ehow.com/how_5970934_block-calls-panasonic-phone-system.html

Have a good day from now on everyone. God bless

Pathetic? Do you realize there is a huge number of people whom have become unemployed due to no fault of their own?  And no they won't accept such a small payment.  DO NOT JUDGE, unless you have walked in another persons shoes.
