I've had 5 calls from this number in the last 3 days.  It is annoying and I haven't and will not answer it b/c I do not recognize the number and they won't leave a VM.  I am hoping it will just stop.

Albany Times Union hires whatever company this is to spam your phone with calls until you actually pick up.

They have called non stop for days now and when i call back it is an answering machine telling me to leave a message. VERY FRUSTRATING>

I cancelled Albany Times Union as well and have been receiving these same annoying phone calls twice daily for the last week.  I have not answered.  How do you get them to stop?

Thanks for the notes.  I too just cancelled my subscription to the Albany Times Union last week.  I guess I will try to call the TU tomorrow to see if I can make these calls stop.

Yup, my newspaper subscription has ended with Albany Times Union as well. Now these calls happen at 8am and 5pm.

Having canceled my newspaper subscription, I believe this annoying caller is trying to get me to re-up the paper.  At this point I'm ignoring every call.  The paper subscription ended 2 weeks ago, and this particular number has been calling every day, 2x a day, for the last week, even weekends.  The caller never leaves a message but the caller ID is Albany News.

Funny to see the post from saftgal regarding cancellation of the Albany Times Union.  I also recently cancelled mine, and that is when the calls began.  I did not make the connection until I saw this.  I have never answered, I only see the missed call on my cell once or twice daily.  They never leave a message. I did not know what it was in regards to.  I am getting married soon, and have had to provide my phone number to a lot of different people/ companies, so I was not sure which one specifically leaked it.

I've received three calls from 651-288-2680 in the last two days and suspect that someone is phishing. I've found that calling my provider and having the number blocked takes care of the problem. The blocking service should be free and it lasts for several months. No more annoying calls! Good luck out there.

It is World Wide Recovery which is a collection agency. Or at least that is what the guy leaves for a message on my cell phone.

We cancelled our subscription with the Albany Times Union two weeks ago and that's when these calls started ...everyday at 8am and again at 5pm. I finally got annoyed and answered...it's a telemarketing firm begging us to please resubscribe and promising deals and delivery availability I know are not offered when you contact the Albany Times Union directly. I've asked them twice not to call again. Today I reported them to the Do Not Call Registry...what a blessing caller id is, at least I don't have to deal with all the @^#^#% out there!

I too received a call from this number. I called them back and it sounds like they are an insurance company...something about a 24 hour claim service. I am self employed, maybe they are trying to sell insurance?

I've been receiving the call everyday.  Automated system saying that they are "CBA" or some company attempting to collect a debt.  And from the previous posts, I think they are used by many different company's.  I already know mine is because I refused to pay the newspaper for an add that they ran a week late for one of my rental units, which in the end cost me $600.  efem.

Got a call from this number yesterday while at work. No message left as usual. Based upon a couple of the previous posts, it may be someone calling on behalf of the local newspaper, as I just cancelled my subscription online about 2 weeks ago. Of course, when contacting the newspaper online to cancel, I made it clear that I did not want any calls.
They can call all they want, but I will just ignore it. Phuck them.....

When I answered the call I heard people in the background but no one reply to my saying hello.  Then they hung up.

I have been getting hang up calls from the same number in MN.  Obviously they won't leave a message.

I am gathering this is some kind of a collection agency from what everyone has said.  I just get the machine asking to leave a name and number as well.  I left them a nasty message and said well obviously you have my number. I have been in a dispute with direct tv for an amount i was incorrectly billed for 2 yrs now and figure this is what they want.  They call my cell phone 2 x a day every day for over a week now.  I am not gonna answer their call.  I wish I knew how to block their number permanantly I am already on the do not call list.

I have been getting couple of calls from this phone number - never answered but reading the log of the number on this website - i don;t think i am going to answer either..

I took a call from that number and it turns out to be Orlando Sentinel regarding payment for newspaper delivery.

I get these calls from 651-288-2861 also. I search and the the number's provider is U.S. LINK, INC.  The company is only provides phone service in MN but I can not seem to locate any further information on this company to report a complaint.

I've been getting calls from 651-288-2861 on my cell phone.  I've received five in the past two days.  When I answer, there is no one there and the call ends.  I call it back and there is just a message saying for me to leave a message.  Very irritating.

This phone # does the same as 651-288-2861.  It's very VERY frustrating.  I tried to call back and all it says is to leave my name and phone # and they will contact me.  Of course I don't do that I just hang up.  I know that if it is a collection agency that they have the wrong person.  My problem is, what do I do now.  I signed up, again for the Do Not Call registry...  Don't think that will help my situation.  I feel that my credit is in danger and possibly other things.
