People have been hearing similar empty threats over the same period from "Officer Wilson" and "Officer Mark Wilson" from "American Legal Services", which makes Wilson & Nelson, Wilson Legal Services, and American Legal Services likely aliases of the same lawbreaker.

1. Refusal to provide a verifiable legal address and business name.
2.Asking for a green dot card or similar to pay this.
3.Not providing documentation per the FDCPA laws via US mail.
You can not be arrested for owing a debt BTW, its a civil matter, not criminal. Real legal servers do not call you in advance either, they just show up.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Debt Collector
Scammers and schemers kept calling my cell phone and demanding money to make a totally fictitious lawsuit "go away". I work for a law firm and after I blocked them from my cell phone, they started calling my job! I literally hung up on a man with a thick Indian (I think??) accent over 100 times at work yesterday. Even though I know it's not my fault, it's still beyond embarrassing to have people calling your job with these antics. Reported them to FTC.

I have been harrassed by these people via telephone and email. Somehow, someone sold them my information.  They have called my job and my persoanl line and I believe they call from different numbers.  When I called back to have them remove my name from their database, I was met with a rude response.  I was told to "Suck my d*ck" and was called a "idiot ni**er*.  Surely there is something we can do???  This is beyond harrassment!
They try to sound like a collection agency.  Said they were a law firm.

I did do some harrassing of my own.  I called back 20 times and of course the person who answered was NOT the indiviudal who left me a message about a "important matter".  Just kept hitting redial.  Hopefully giving them some of the harrassment they've dished out to many many people.

So would everybody else.  Problem is, finding them.  Meantime ignore 'em.  Get a call blocker.

Report 'em:  See:     http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0258-fake-debt-collectors

Report 'em to the FTC.  They call you again, just tell 'em you've reported them to the FTC and then tell them to go to hell.  Once they know you won't be intimidated, they may stop calling.  Be prepared for verbal abuse though.

You would not be alone, millions of people would like to sue them.
The problem is, where to find them and when you do, how to sue them.
It is an international scam, headed by people in and ran from countries not friendly with US law.
Every so often a patsy for the crooks is found, residing in the US who can be prosecuted, but ultimately funds are not recovered.
You best form of protection from these crooks is to report them and then ignore them.
When it be comes too time consuming for them to rip you off, they move on.

Ignore 'em  Total scam.  Demand a statement of the debt and demand that it be delivered US mail.  Otherwise, tell 'em to go to hell and that you know this is a scam!

Meantime a call blocker might be your best bet.

There's no arrest for ordinary civil debt.  We don't have debtors prisons in the US.

See:  http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0258-fake-debt-collectors

This is an ongoing scam by shady debt collectors, basically kitchen-table operators; they like to throw out criminal justice-type terms to scare people.  Like I say.  You tell 'em to go to hell and that you know this is a scam.

Calls countless amounts of time and says I have a warrent out for my arrest because of a loan I took out under Americash and never paid back. Wouldnt tell me their company name, how much the loan was for, and when it was taken out. Makes me very nervous. Said he was going to report my case to a Attorney and then this coming Friday, I would be arrested at my place of work.....anyone else?
