Just got a call from this as well. It is a scam saying that we have detected a virus on our computer through software that we have downloaded and they are trying to help us resolve it. I immediately told him never to call again.

Got a call claiming same as all above, heavy accent, claming his name was 'Peter'
 ..windows errrors, 'windows computer is critical and "Could fail at any moment" '

I was immediately weary, and after a few moments I knew he wasnt 'real'.

I said I needed to be sure he was who he said he was, and he told me to GOOGLE 'group resolve'
 to find the web page. ( a red flag)
The web page looks shooody. Obvious scam/fake to me.

but He was ready at every turn, "This computer is old, we'll be getting new one soon" = "Ohh, this service is transferable"
blah blah blah

But when I asked for a number, so I could call them back after doin some research on his company,
    he gave me an obviously fake number,
      his voice sounded defeated.
                  That instant I knew he was just a scammer.

And it would appear I was right.

I have been receiving these calls for several weeks now.  I knew it was a scam right away, but I play along, but DO NOT get onto my computer.  I found out on this last call that the name and address they had was from the person who had the phone number before me.  I have had this number for over ten years.  The name and phone nunber are still on some internet lists with the old information, so my guess is they are getting the phone numbers off the internet white pages.

Heavy Mid. East accent, claim to be an official technical call... asked if I could be in front of my computer ... When I asked for a phone number and name to call him back, the line went dead. 651-420-1786 is a Scammer call. What they want you to do is download a supposed fix via download from their site, which is really virus or malware to obtain bank accounts and private information and/or company information. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM.

Hung up when I answered, tried to call back and it's "an invalid number".  This is getting very old!  They're just checking to see if my number is valid - sons of bi****s!!  There is no control over these b*****ds who bother people day and night.

I have eceived a call from this number several times ... usually do not answer but did today to see what it was about.  Heavy accented man identified me by name, then said he was from Microsoft Windows and was calling about my computer.  When I told him I did not have a computer, he hung up.  It is a scam ... Microsoft will not call you; however, recently, I had my Hotmail e-mail account (which is run by Microsoft) hacked and asked Microsoft for advice ... they answered via e-mail.   It's scary to think that the Microsoft servers may have been hacked into ... they're getting the names from somewhere.

This is the third time I have received a call from this number. The first time I told him there wasn't a problem with our computers at work and he called me a liar. I replied with "excuse me" and he hung up on me.
Second time he called and told me that there was a problem with my computer and I told him that there STILL wasnt a problem with my computer and he said that he keeps getting messages from our computer saying there is a problem. I hung up on him...he then called back and asked for Ms. Judy I told him he had the wrong number. He then asked me if I was having problems with my computer I told him that he has already called and that we go through a computer company already. He asked what company and how much we paid for service I told him it was none of his business and he began raising his voice telling me that he needed to know. I switched my tone of voice to a very sturn tone (as I was trying to be professional since I was at work) and I told him it was honestly none of his business. He then yelled at me and said that if my computer starts having problems not to blame him and then he hung up.
This is definitely a SCAM!! If he calls again I figured I would just question him like he is being interrogated. He speaks with a very heavy accent I could hardly understand what he was trying to tell me.

I have been getting phone calls from these folks often. I hang up, i curse, i have had enough. What do you put your name on the dam do not call list and these folks still call. I reported one somebody that called my house at 6:30 a.m not these idiots someone else this person said i had filled out something online about a job i was like where are you she replied Flordia i was like do you know where you are calling i replied to her California and it is 6ffffffffffffffffffffing 30 in the morning. I report them to the FCC and again put my number on the do not call list. What the hell what can be done i am sick and tired of being sick and tired. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP somebody

We received 3 phone calls this morning from from a man with a middle eastern accent trying to get me to turn on my computer which was already on. He kept telling me that we have viruses & malware on our computer right now & he needs to get it off before it fries our mother board. When I started asking how he knew what I had on my computer he sighed and said that he received an alert. He was talking so fast I was unable to understand more than half of what he was saying. He asked why I was so angry, I told him because I thought he might be trying to pull a scam or download some viruses on my computer he said "Oh my gosh". I couldn't believe it so I told him off & told him for the 3rd time not to call my house again. And we haven't heard anything since.

I rec'd a call from it today. Same line...that they had gotten reports that my windows OS was downloading harmful data and that must get to my computer immediately and he would assist me in fixing the problem. I suspected it was a scam immediately and asked him  three times the name of his organization and to spell it because I could not understand what he was saying because of his accent. Finally he I understood "Group Resolve". I questioned him about the files being downloaded and asked him "what Windows OS are you referring to", because we have several laptops and 3 of them run different OS. He hung up when I started to question him. I went to the download directory on my laptop and there was a file by the name of goog1e.groupresolve.exe. I deleted it immediately. I'm going to look into this further. It scares me to think what information they could have gotten from my laptop!

I played along with this guy for a while , then told him I was keeping him online for as long as possible so tracing would work.. the original guy was hard to understand , he then got a better speaking guy.. this guy got mad and told me to duck off and he was going to duck my wife , I just told him he is going to hell for ripping people off and Hung up ..

Said they were from Windows. Called because my computer has some software. Wanted $120 to remove it. Said No. Called back. Said No again and hung up. My computer is going very slowly. Am running my Norton right now.

Although the Area code 651 is the telephone numbering plan code for Saint Paul, Minnesota, and the eastern suburbs of the Twin Cities my telephone service provider?s online listing of all my incoming/outgoing calls gives this number a location of Singapore. Somehow they manage to insert this bogus number in caller id. I am now blocking all calls with ?name unavailable? or ?unknown? right from my providers website - no more annoying calls - way to go!

I have received several calls from this number. My caller ID shows "Minnesota Call'. When I answered,
it was a guy with a Middle Eastern or Indian accent. He tells me that there is something wrong with my computer operating system. At that point, I just hung up. The last time that he called (always the same voice), I told him that my problem has been fixed! (Goodbye). I would not share information with these people, not even my email address. After all...he should already know that info.

This number is also try to do Calls in The Netherlands. NOK!

09-14-12: Received call from 651-420-1786 this morning - heavily accented woman talked asking me about error reports which I have had sent to Microsoft when an application crashes. Then she transferred me to an ?engineer? who said my computer?s internal security was defective and would fail if I did not purchase their fix. Their web site is: http://www.gtechsupports.net/ .

He had me going for some time (very pronounced accent - Indian or Far East) but I wanted to investigate further and I asked what he would have done if I were not here to pick up the phone. By then he was so frustrated with me that he terminated the call and I hung up. Microsoft would not communicate with us this way and I don?t know how he got my phone number and he would not say exactly. Somehow he did know my computers CLSID key (do a google search on it) and from the command prompt type ?assoc? - it is at the bottom of the listing. Very frustrating and took up much too much of my time - beware and don?t fall for this - check the website.  Please reply with your experience.

Very heavy accent.  This is a scam.  They called to say that there is a problem with your Windows operating system and want to sell you to fix you computer problems.

Call saying something was wrong with windows. Accent so heavy I couldn't understand what he was saying. He finally hung up on me. Call the number back and got a no longer in service message.

Called no answer when we said hello

Yeah they kept calling me all night and when I answered the phone, it was nothing but hooting and hollering and lots of laughter. So needless I am not very happy!

This number calls saying something about windows computer and hangs up. B*****ds!
