Received call from 651 495 7000 asking for my spouse. When I asked who it was they said US BANK.  I identified myself and they said it was a courtesy call thanking us for our business. They then gave the 800 for US BANK and said to call if I needed anything. I attempted to use the telephone callback service which stated the number was not available. We do have US BANK accounts but they asked for my wife's name by my last name. My wife's last name is hyphenated which they did not use. I called US BANK and they where not aware of anyone make courtesy calls. Seems very suspicious and I intend to not answer any more calls fromthatnumber.

This is NOT US Bank.  It's scammers!  US Bank's Fraud Dept. is aware of this situation and is working on it.

I just called the bank.  They already knew about this.

It may show up on your Caller ID as US Bank (my Caller ID said St. Paul, MN) but it's rigged to not only show up that way but also to say so (in an automated recording) if you call the number back.

Interestingly, I got a call from St. Paul, MIN about a month ago.  They said they were a breast cancer chairty.  The "charity" allows them to get by the No Call Lists.  That too was a scam.  As soon as I started asking questions, they hung up on me.  If this was a real charity, they would not hang up on you.

We can only hope US Bank's Fraud Dept. catches up with these idiots.

Don't give any stranger any kind of personal info.  Even if you have an US Bank account, don't be fooled!  It's not them!

I just got this call.  Did NOT pick it up.  But I called the number bank and it said it was a courtesy call from US Bank.  US Bank, my behind!

I called US Bank through my own customer service number of theirs.  They KNOW about this number and have been investigating it.  I spoke to US Bank's Fraud Dept.

It is a SCAM.  It's NOT US Bank calling you!  When you call them back, they make it sound like it's US Bank but it is NOT!

The bank already was aware of this problem and they told me they are working on it.

BTW, not too long ago I got a call from a similar phone number.  My Caller I.D. said it was some kind of made-up charity (that's how they get by the No Call Lists).  They hung up on me when I started asking too many questions.  A real charity would never hang up on you.

Interesting...both of these said St. PAUL, MINN on my Caller I.D..  So you might next time get a call from some (mine was breast cancer) charity.  Be advised...that's a SCAM ALSO.

Do NOT give anyone personal information.

I got a call from this number and since I didn't recognize it, I looked it up and found this site. Turns out it was totally legit. I had signed up for a new account online and they were just returning my call. This number is their main switchboard for outgoing calls. So no, this wouldn't be a scam, altho some calls to customers might be unsolicited.

This is US Bank. It is not a scam.  You have to be a customer in some way to be getting these calls.  The way to get the calls to stop is to listen to what they have to say, it may benefit you. If you don't like what is being said from the bankers at US Bank, ask to be placed on their DNC list.

I am NOT a US Bank how ever my mother is someone claiming they are from US bank keeps calling us how ever they don't even have my mothers correct name that is very strange, It would seem to me that if they were actually calling from the US Bank that they would have the correct information. I will file a law suit as a lawyer who handles these kinds of matter this could be very interesting . The phone number in any case anyone else gets a phone claiming to be from US Bank is  651-495-7000. I did some research and found the number to be out Minnesota St. Paul Area.

Someone keeps calling here to ask for my husband.  When I tell them they can speak to me they get sarcastic and say I have to give them my name to verify.  I won't give it to them, and they keep saying its in regards to our US BANK account. WE DO NOT BANK with US Bank.  Tonight, I gave the phone to my husband.  The women continuously asked him to give her my name to verify the account.  I receive this call at least 2 times a week for the past month, and have told them to stop calling.  It's not working.

I just set the inbound route to an internal destination that plays the Disconnected or not in service message, preceeded by the three tones. I never hear the phone ring. I don't get telemarketing calls anymore.

This is a legitimate call center at usbank. Any call that shows this number is driven by an automatic dialer, as this is more efficient than manually dialing each and every customer... I work in this center. The only way to remove your number from a list is to close all your accounts. Every bank does this. There are many area's of the bank. The unfortunate stigma of working in a call center is that you are a telemarketer, I can tell you that the vast majority of my coworkers have more working and trained knowledge of the bank and our services than any branch employee with 20+ years. Bottom line, if you have a phone, expect to get calls on it. If you want a number removed, change your number and dont tell us. Don't be another shmuck, if someone calls offering you something, hear them out, if you don't want what they are offering, tell them your not interested, and the calls stop.

In my case, it's legitimate.

I received a call from this number today.  The caller said they were a U.S. Bank rep asking me if I was satisfied with my bank service, if I had any questions or concerns about anything, and then to offer me free overdraft protection.  I am a U.S. Bank customer with both a credit card and checking account.  Amidst conversation the girl commented on my DOB, the fact that I had a U.S. Bank credit card, and the last four digits of my checking account.

I thought the call was a bit unusual and I also thought the rep sounded a bit amateurish, so I was concerned about being scammed.  I politely refused the service and then contacted the Minneapolis/St. Paul customer service and asked about the legitimacy of the call.  It turns out it was indeed a legitimate call from a U.S. Bank sales rep from my home bank in Burnsville, MN.  They keep logs so if you are suspicious, call customer service.

One thing I learned from customer service is that any offer from a U.S. Bank phone solicitation can also be applied for at a branch office in person.  If you're actually interested in the service but question the legitimacy of the call, call your bank and/or visit your branch and apply.  You can't go wrong that way.  Also, if you apply for a service with the bank you will receive confirmation in the mail about it, so if someone was to do it fraudulently it wouldn't escape your eventual detection.

Hope this helps!

IF THESE PEOPLE OR ANYONE ELSE TOOK YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AND STARTED USING YOUR SSN, YOU MUST REPORT IT. I JUST CALLED 911 AND SPOKE WITH AN OFFICER WHO INFORMED ME THAT UNTIL I AM VICTIMIZED THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BUT BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE HAVE MY SSN (I GAVE THEM THINKING IT WAS USBANK, I KNOW I'M AN IDIOT BUT..) I HAVE TO CHECK MY CREDIT NOW FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. THE ONLY WAY I CAN CHANGE MY SSN IS IF THEY USE IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN; WHICH MEANS THEY CAN RUIN ME SO THAN I CAN FIGHT THEM. THIS IS CRAZY BUT IT'S A REALITY. PLEASE PLEASE EVEN IF THEY DID NOT TAKE YOUR SSN BUT TOOK SOMETHING FROM YOU, CALL THE POLICE AND HAVE IT DOCUMENTED. THE MORE PEOPLE DO IT THE EASIER WILL BE TO CATCH THEM IF SOMETHING COMES UP. THANK YOU FOR READING THIS

called 800 US Bank (800-87-2265)  this number was answered by an automated operator indicating that the call did not go through and to try the call again.  As you can see the reason why it didn't go through is that it is missing a number which in the USA is needed (10 digits) to properly connect.  This now further reinforces the fact that the call that I had recieved was not legitimate.

Received a call from U S Bancorp 651-495-7000 with caller iding herself as Suzanne Olsen, told me that she is calling as service to give me heads up about my checking account which will start to incur fees after July 24th 21011 unless I take further actions.  Those actions could be; to do a direct deposit to my accounts, to waive the maintance fee on my checking, I could transfer the funds currently in my checking account to other accounts with US Bank and then have the checking closed over the phone.  She inidcated that I could go to the branch office to do the same thing, but that she was trying to save me time.  She indicated that I could call 800 US Bank to do the same thing.  She indicated that a letter will be sent out with the same info and that they were calling ahead to give heads up to customers so that they have some time to make choices about what they want to do with their accounts.  I kept wondering if this was a legitimate call, it didn't feel like it, which is why I decided to look up this number online to get more info.  I did say that the bank must be in trouble for calls like this to occur, she seemed to get a little nervous with that remark.  I asked why the bank would be making changes like this when competitor companies are not doing this.  She said that they too are doing this.  Which then really was an indication that this was not a legitimate call.

He asked me if I had some qustions about my accounts, I said definately "not". Thanks. Goodbye.. I had to star 69 as I don't have caller Id. What's up with this???
