I received a call from this # and an automated voice said that it was H&R Block calling to have my credit cards re-activated. I hung up immediately. I do not use H&R Block and knew it was a scam.

I got the H&R scam from this number this afternoon, and another call late this evening from a restricted number (caller id blocked) claiming to be from a different bank with the same choppy computer voice.
As you all were smart enough to figure out if you're on the site, it is a scam.
It may or may not be related to a series of calls I've received appearing to be from California in either San Jose or Sacramento over the last year from a guy with a heavy indian or other middle eastern accent claiming to be from a payday loan company who I supposedly took a loan from and defaulted on while I've done no such thing. They read off a bunch of "charges" they were going to file at the court unless I paid immediately. When they called a year ago they had the last 4 of my social and my name, but nothing else. This year they've gotten additional relatively public information about my sister who they threatened to call. I told them to go ahead and file and then I called the FBI, who wasn't interested since I wasn't dumb enough to give any money or account information.
I was initially concerned that someone else had stolen my identity and taken out an actual loan, but it's been a year and I've lost no money and I've not been served with any papers, so there doesn't appear to be any real identity theft yet, but they are sure patient.
The reason I'm posting all this is because it seems likely my california guy has either stepped up his operation or passed along my number. If you've had a similar experience, post back, I'd like to hear about it.

Yep, I got the H&R Block scam too. Call disconnected after a few seconds of silence.
Missouri Joe 2011-01-10 16:27:28 Unknown
Received a garbled computer generated voice call stating H & R Block was calling about a mastercard I owned. They said it was deactivated due to a security threat and to press one to speak to an agent.
Did nothing but listen. Call disconnected after 15-20 seconds of silence.

Called on my cell phone. Recording said my account had been deactivated. To reactivate, give them my credit card number.
Al 2011-01-09 16:24:47 Unknown
Same thing, only they called me on my cell phone.
kevev 2011-01-08 19:10:53 Unknown
Call the number back and blisten to the recording. The number is owned by IMED Mobility INC. They are aware of someone spoofing their caller ID number and have reported it to the FTC.

You can see the number is for the Roseville, MN office. Please help them report this to the FTC so these scum-bags can get busted. The FTC case number is in the recorded message. If you are afraid of calling the number back, most mobile phones allow you to block your number.

I received a call from this number, informing me my "mastercard" account had been frozen. Press 1 to unlock my account. I don't have a mastercard...I pressed one anyway. The next thing they asked for was my credit card number. If it was REALLY a credit card company calling me, they would have already KNOWN what my credit card number would be.

I got a phone call about 12:30 a.m. It said is was H+R block. Said my password was deleted and I had to talk to security about it. Of course I hung up the phone w/o responding.
