Called my personal phone twice, one minute apart, no message

I work for Thomson Reuters, but not for West. If you're getting called by someone internal to the MN office, this is the number that will show up. TR is a ~65,000 person company, and the West group makes and sells software for the legal industry.

Sorry to hear that folks are having trouble with hang-ups; not sure what's happening, as I work out of Boston, but at least I can say that it's not a scam.

This West Group owned by Reuters.  It's a huge company right down the road from where I live.  Very reputable and legit company.  I receive calls from them often in our business from this same phone # which is the main switchboard number.  

If you are receiving SPAM calls from this number it is obviously being used by someone else as a cover up.

It is easy to put a different number in for a caller ID.

They called once and then about 2 hours later they called. The first time they didnt leave a message but the second time they did the message was just music. We thought maybe some one was prank calling us.

this is obviously a scam,
651-687-7000 call my office local line, asking for accounts payable. when asked who was calling and who they were calling for, the reply was it is the R.C.M.P. the Royal Canadian Mounted Police calling, when asked what the nature of the call was and to obtain the spelling of the callers name and company so I could relay a message, the party became somewhat agressive, I advised that we would like to verify the call and need a telephone number to call them back at, this was refused, so I explained I see the telephone number on my call display and that area code 651 was not an area code in Canada that I was familiar with. that is when the caller hung up the telephone.
when asking around our office, numerous of my coleagues have had their direct line called by this 651-687-7000 number regarding cruise offers, legal publications and calls for to be transfered to the accounts payable department.
we have now circulated a memo not to reply to any questions and NOT to transfer call or press the number 1 on our telephone keypad.
this has all the charactaristics of a scam artist/company and probably using a phoney call display telephone number.

They have called my law firm several times today but there was no one on the line when I answered. Frustrating.

ANY company that calls using a falsed number and won't leave a message is not worth
our time. Get it straight. Largest and most respected, blahblah?Really?  Oh, and duh, I am in the legal field ...

This number has called my business several times over the past week and when I answer, the call is disconnected. I called back today and the person that answered explained that without me having a name of the caller, there is nothing she can do.  I'm blocking this number and suggest others do the same.

The caller is West Law and the publish law books.

Here we go again.  They called again this morning.  This time I redialed and got a live voice.  Explained that we do deal with Westlaw, why are you calling us and hanging up.  Transferred to Customer Service LIVE and told them I want it stopped because one of my employers deals with them already.  They promised to help.  Let's see what happens. However, believe it or not, while I am e-mailing you, they called again live.  Put them in the attorney's voice mail.

As you caan see by above, they called me again.  Everything same.  I just don't understand why they hang up knowing that we are in the legal business as well.

Received call from above. What was peculiar about it is that when I answered with "Law Office" they hung up.  As I understand it from the other replies, this is Westlaw.  Didn't they want a law office's business?

I received a call from this number twice yesterday on my business 800 number. I did not answer it either because it looked suspicious. Glad I did not answer it.

Also known as Thomson West, Legal Publishers.  My West Rep. left me a message last week and I had not returned his call and then this number showed up today on my office phone.  Glad this was here, so that I know who it is now (and I've been reminded to update some of my research materials!).  

If you aren't in the legal field, I can only assume that they've either misdialed or you have a number that belonged to an attorney at one time or another.  They are the largest and most respected legal research publisher out there and I feel certain that they will remove your number from their files if you simply inform them they've made an error in calling you.
