This is a 'robo-call' insisting that you call back to get a lower interest rate on your charge cards. I always pay mine in full - so my rate is effectively ZERO. These idiots don't even check that out.
Nanakaren 2011-06-06 20:53:51 Unknown
These are spammers to get your credit card number from you saying lower your percentage rate just to get your card number.
I keep getting these calss thats why IM online now.
richardinmichigan 2011-06-06 20:53:51 Unknown
No message was left as previously on many occasions. No one is there if I answer, which I usually do not. Can't something be done to get these people to stop?!!!

same credit card scam as mentioned above. also from 989.0006937 .must be the latest craze.
Critter 2011-06-06 20:53:51 Unknown
This company says you've been selected for lower interest rates, but should consider this your "last notice." II have repeatedly asked to be removed from their list (hung up on me). Today I asked where they were located (hung up on me). I have been called at least 10 times.
2011-06-06 20:53:51 Unknown
Did not bother to answer when I saw the "unavailable" on the "name" area. Figured that it was scam.

I just received this call. I talked with them for several minutes, until they wanted to verify my credit card number and would i please read it off to them. I replied, "No, you read me the number you have and I will verify it." Suddenly there was only music on the line. The caller was promoting an interest rate reduction because we "are so good at paying on time" then proceeded to ask whether we do indeed pay on time regularly. Hello? Didn't you just tell me that????? Also wanted to know how we pay for everyday purchases (cash), what the interest rates are on our cards.... I was already suspicious, before all the questions were asked because of the area code. My husband suggested we pick it up and find out what it was about! We found out!

Never EVER, give out any info over the phone, even if they have your name, addy or any info. They are very sneaky and will ruin your credit and your life. If they call and say they are your bank or credit card company, just hang up and you call the number on the back of your card and talk to your bank or credit card company, dont trust no one on the phone. Too many scammers in this world. It is just sad and disgusting that our government cant stop all this.

I have been getting calls almost everyday from this number, when I push 9 to speak to a representative and politely ask to be removed from the call list they immediately hang up on me. They do not give a company name and only say it is visa/mastercard related. I am fed up with these calls and would like to know how to stop them.
Peggy06 2011-04-06 18:28:35 Unknown
I agree with you Bob. These fools are really quite clever. I don't think they're telemarketers at all. However, somehow, someway, they're hooked up to be able to use your tel # through illegal equipment. Then there always is what they call the (Buddy System) Hopefully the company that is loosing the most money will catch up with all who are involved.

Just got my second call. First one, I hit 9 and asked to be removed and was hung up on. This time I didn't select anything hoping I would get a voice and after about 2 minutes was disconnected.
I love the option of the whistle - hit 9 and when they ask if you are calling about lowering your credit card - give a great big BLOW

Have another number to add to the list, not that it matters... caller id is: (Reset, 406-219-2378) So I am not sure if they are using the phone companys own reset numbers to make their scam-calls but the fact that the calls are coming every day (sometimes several a day) is really wearing thin.
anonymous 2011-03-16 19:48:39 Unknown
THIS IS A SCAM. This is a version of the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, loan, lottery winnings, interest rate reduction, tax reduction, gift card, refund, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, insurance, secure handling, processing, etc. They may send you a fake check, may want your credit/debit card or bank account number, or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. They can put recurrent difficult-to-cancel monthly charges or a 1-time charge on your card or bank account, and sell account info to other criminals and you'll have to replace accounts altogether. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. If they want you to call them up for instructions, they may tell you not to discuss the wire with Western Union desk clerks but the real reason is WU clerks are familiar with these scams and will warn you not to wire the money. Report to US Postal Service Inspectors https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.

I'm starting to get these calls again. Last time I answered and talked to the representative. Instead of giving him my info I asked the guy if his sister was good looking or not and if she wanted a date. He hung up on me.

652-000-8287 or "unknown number"; Telling these people to remove your number from the call list only results in a hang up and usually another call a few hours later.
Asking to speak to a supervisor only results in being put on hold for a few minutes and then hung up on.
Attempting to speak to the "service rep" outside or their scripted questions/responses only results in profanity and vulgar remarks from the person on the other end, the supposed employee of "Card Services".
This "company" is not interested in lowering your credit card interest rate but are only interested in getting every bit of personal information they can in an attempt to scam you and your credit information.
The only thing I can think of to do is to waste their time. I give them a false name, talk slowly, ask them to repeat every question and give them as much B.S. as possible. I give them the same false hope they give others and at least I know in some small way, I may be affecting their bottom line and stalling them from trying to scam other people.
Laura 2011-03-16 17:14:28 Unknown
The number is from "credit card services". it starts as a prerecorded message; if you press 9 to speak with a service rep then you can speak with a live telemarketer. They are looking for your credit card(s) information. I have asked countless times to have my number removed from their calling list but that only seems to increase their calls.. just today it has been twice so far. I have asked to speak with a superviser but they always hang up.
It's all a scam to get personal credit information and I wish I knew how and/or where to report them.

The same happened to me. I called my phone company and they told me how to bloock the call.It madme so made when the man from the card company had the nerve to hang up on me.
garnic 2011-03-14 22:31:21 Unknown
I get calls periodically with various area codes and the exchanges (middle 3 digits) of 000. According to my ex who works for AT&T, these calls are from callers who conceal their real numbers by using a program that lets them control what number shows in on your caller ID.
Annoyed...... 2011-03-14 15:57:47 Telemarketer
The calls have started once again at my house. Starting at 9:30am to 8:30pm Monday through Friday. Yes, I'm on the do not call list.
What I do now is........ I push #9 and wait until a rep comes online. Then I BLOW A SPORTS WHISTLE AS HARD AS I CAN INTO MY PHONES MICROPHONE. Who's ever on the receiving end, (usually on a headset).....will be hard of hearing for a long time to come.
If you try and tell them to put your name on the dont call list........they hang up before you finish your sentence.
It might not solve my problem, since it's robo calling........but at least I'm getting some satisfaction.
stupid woman 2011-03-02 23:56:39 Unknown
I got this same call only I was stupid enough to fall for it. I gave them some of my information and they already seemed to have some of it. That made it seem legitimate. The woman even gave her name Clara Ellison and said her agent number was 1147. She gave an 800 number to call, so I did and after pushing all the 1 for this and 9 for that I reached a representative frrom my financial institution. I explained the situation of what just happened. She told me to keep calling her every day to see if anything is going on with my account. So as stupid as I was, at least I got a hold of my bank right away so we can stay on top of it.
Bob 2011-03-02 17:45:59 Unknown
They want your credit card number and then rip you off, No such telephone exchange either.
They are calling from a blocked or illegal phone hook-up thru the computer.
I spoke to one of their reps , she asked if I wanted to lower my rates & I told her to stop from calling and she hung up before I could get it all out of my mouth.

I received a call from this number today, I did not answer it and the caller ID said the name is unavailable. I hate these kind of calls. Every time I get one, I goggle the number and find it is another harassing number. D.C. needs to do something about this,

Many people are getting unsolicited calls from this number. I suspect it is a scam call. Google list many who believe the same.

Now all we need is to get CONGRESS to tell them this. The only way they'll listen or take us seriously. Maybe we should spam congress about this issue. Not meaning spam in the unsolicited sense, but they would see it this way.
