Trying to sell Home Security, maybe.

its spring time & these calles come up like weeds, do these mf"s really think I was looking to buy a home security system from them? I have a boat load of spem robo calls on an hourly basis some days, I never ever answer I had to disconnect my answering machine for this reason, so at least they can NEVER leave a message, if I do not recognize the caller id name it does not get answered & gets blocked,  but make no mistake about it they are smart they call under a different number, or a different name, I don't fall for this & never ever call them back I don't know them they can all go to hell or get a regular job......

They are at it again.  Got a call @ 2:23 PM. They hung up when my answering machine picked up the call. Caller ID listed the number & Home Security.

What number does it say to call? Then check to see if that number is part of the scam list.

After my last post, I received in my electric bill envelope a mini-flyer for a "FREE Home Security System." Imagine that! The give-a-way wasn't worth as much, only $850. The small print may be the clue for the hustle.
$99.00 customer installation charge, plus 36 months at $36.99. That's $1430.64. It appears that is paid upfront, so no cancellations. These guys offer ADT equipment. Same other requirement of being a homeowner with good credit.
I guess one can still find deals too good to be true in the mail, as well as scam calls.

Rang wireline. Robo call saying the FBI says home burglaries are up in this area and offering free security system in turn for placing small sign in yard. Press 1 to speak to rep. First rep "Sabrina" screens,  to qualify based on zip code and asks name and if I am the owner. I report wrong zip code, made up name and say I am responsible for property. Sabrina is pretty nervous and uncertain in her speech. Next transferred to "Zack," the specialist. He asks what promotion I am responding to because they have "several today?" Somehow he figures this is the one for home security. He asks am I interested in a home security system? I say tell me more. I am being offered $1000 of wireless home security system equipment free in return for placing a sign for "Lion Security" in my front yard. He again asks for zip code. States "there will be a team in the area on January 1. There are three free slots left. Are you the owner." I repeat I am responsible for the property. (By this time I have located my big police whistle and figured out a way to blow it without injuring my ears (I also have two foam earplugs ready)). He would like to  fax me a form to fill out. I tell him there is no fax. After a skipped beat he is really insistent about ownership. I ask why and he explains if I rent, I have to have permission from the owner to install the equipment. I tell him the permission is available. At that moment he disconnects. The disconnect signal is  hiss as the VoIP connection is dropped. My casual internet search for Lion Security (Systems, Alarms). is inconclusive. It might be a franchise, and the name from these jerks might be as phoney as my name to them? The number is now blocked, but I am guessing, I will never be taken off "the list." I have documented 296 of these nuisance calls since May 2012.

I've been getting this one every day;  trying to scare me into buying security protection.  Does it ever end!

New area code. Same of scam.  They call my work phone, which is to be used by my clients who are seeking help because they are in trouble..  So frustrating!

I live in the State of California.  there is no such law requiring me to have a Security system in my home

This makes the fifth different number they used this month, no way to block being as every time they call it is from another number.
I've answered in the past, insisted they put me on their Do-Not-Call list but I guess they just use their list as a phone book. I am on the National Do-Not-Call list and have been on for over ten years with annual verification but they ignore that list. I've reported them but it does no good, they just keep harassing me with their unwanted calls. The web address for the reporting this type call is:

They've been calling for months, using different numbers. Always a recording, variations of "Please don't hang up, stay on the line for this important information. There's been a burglary in your neighborhood..." and then I hang up.

Another call from these scammers.  Blocked and reported.  Morons.

Got call and blocked it!

Just got a call from me.  As usual I do not answer.  I have an answering machine and if someone calls that needs to leave a message...they can.  I don't bother with spammers!  YOU are all paying far too much attention to them by calling them back or answering the phone.  If NOBODY ever answered do you think they would bother calling?

Have you ever thought that maybe you are talking to a burglar who wants to know what type of security system you have in your home so they can break in? You're giving out valuable information to a stranger. Don't do it.

And again, 4/19 14:35, no longer show ID when calling, still leaving Robo Message about reported break-ins and offering free installation of GE wireless security system.  Already have a system and have no intention of changing and it obviously means nothing to report robo-calls since they just continue to come.  Just don't answer phone unless positive who is calling.  I did listen to robo message after fact and finally paid attention to name of company.  See below

SSA is Not affiliated with the SSA Pittsburgh company, What they are selling is by no way a monitored security System and this one is just too funny for words but I will tell you what happened to us.
SSA Of Anaheim, California called us constantly blowing up our phone with this offer of a whole house security system for just $199 Initial and $99 month service, Now Keep in mind I Live in Washington State and I rent a small trailer, According to their records I own a 3 bedroom Home and By California State Law I am required to purchase and maintain a home security system with a reputable company.

Ok Now notice the aforementioned.

So I asked them First Of all I live in Washington State and they will send a Installation tech to My 3 bedroom House to install this State mandated security System.....(their Response) Yes Sir Our installers will be in your area this week And after installation they will give you documentation to Pass along to your insurance carrier and certification that you send to Sacremento Verifying your home has a Security system in Compliance with Califonia State Law.

Next Question For them was Since your records Show I own a Home Does it show the address and such?
(their Response) Yes Sir we have record from the capitol Of California State Showing us you Own a home however we cannot give out any information from Our Files.

Final Heres Your Sign Lady: Ok California Shows I own a Home In Washington State So I Must reside in the state of Washafornia and By Law Im Obligated to have this system installed in a house I have not even bought yet and pay $99 a month for a service that is monitored from Anaheim what good would it do me to have the system? Im living 800 miles away from Anaheim so if theres a fire or break in by the time they got to my house it would be barren empty and burnt to the foundation, Maam im Sorry but maybe you should go back to school and get acquainted with an atlas because you have no clue as to states Please remove my number from your records and I will be contacting the California Attorney generals office in 5 mins.......dead silence and dial tone Hmmmmmm?!?!

I'm called from Nation Wide Security.  Their number is 800-268-4468.  Call them and ask them why they keep calling with a robo caller

657-549-4468 is a recording about home security for my house. Too bad I live in an apartment. I tried the option to remove me from their call list, but they'll call back from another number :(
