This is a "California Law firm" who is calling to file "Criminal Charges" on alleged unpaid payday loans.  They tried to get me just now, and we don't even HAVE an open bank account, we use pre paid credit cards and cash everywhere, can't even get a payday loan if we wanted. They won't give the name of the alleged payday loan company (they said American Payday Loan, which doesn't operate in Texas) and won't give me the name of their law firm.

I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

I was just contacted by a Sean Gibson who refused to give me information. Said he was calling in regards to a payday loan that I didn't pay back and that they were getting ready to file criminal charges. He told me he was from "California Law Firm" which was also know as "John Washington Associates" and this was related to a payday loan  from "American Payday" everyone sounded like they had an Indian accent and it was clearly a call center because I could hear a lot of noise in the background. Said if I didn't call him back in 2 hrs he was going to file criminal charges which included the original loan amount plus over $8,000 in fees and damages.

Just called the 661-213-9471 for the last time. Been harassed for two days 30 days. I went to my bank because they tried to get my money. I gave them the number of  my lawyer and said to call him if there was any trouble. I told Shawn Gibson, that Chase fraud protection had called and I went to the bank and I knew they were scammers. It was all over the internet. Not call again! Then I hung up not giving him a chance to say one word! I am going to block that number. Just in case!!!

This caller shows up on my ID as 10000.  Tried to tell me I owe money for an outstanding payday loan.  Too bad I never had one.  Couldn't give me orginal amount of loan, loan origination date, or a number to the original loan provider.  Transferred me to someone else in his office pretending to be the loan provider.  All B***S***!  I googled the company he claimed I owe money to, and before I could even finish my question, the girl replied, "It's a scam."  I'd love to know how many people these thieving wastes of spaced have ripped off.

I've been receiving calls for over a month now from the same number, which I usually ignore. They would call me several times a day and leave messages almost threatening me if I didn't call them back right away at a 661 number. They would end each message with "I wish you good luck as the situation unfolds." When They started calling my work and harassing me there that is unacceptable. they track payday loan customers and try to scare you that u owe money .if they call  u tell them u know who they are and that u recommend not to call back again theyve called me 2 or three times with three different scams told me i was being sued and then i won 12500 dollars and something else there trying to get more or info

Well Everyone, it appears that American Payday Loans needs to be investigated by the federal government.  As I have stated on other messages I have posted, these people are EXTORTIONISTS who obtain personal information in an effort to obtain funds from unsuspecting people using scare tactics.

I have received calls from locations all across the country and even out of the country (i.e., Canada), from people posing as debit debt collectors, who don't speak English, and who leave messages where the only words you can understand are "legal, court, arrest, and lawsuit"...otherwise, their verbiage is absolutely undiscernable.

It's easy to tell people to ignore these types of calls, but I think perhaps one should turn the tables on these guys and post their numbers online as contacts for payday loans, so they get inundated with callers from all over the country....see if they like it!!!

The State Department of Corporations regulates payday loan companies, and I am filing a complaint in the near future against this so-called "American PayDay Loans" company.  I, too, have been reeiving unwarranted phone calls from locations all over the country from representaties who do not speak our English language, and who are, in reality, EXTORTIONISTS.

The Federal government really needs to do something about this growing problem, since many have given in to these scammers and have paid them money.

Even those who have taken out an online payday loan and have their records of credit and debit should not be taken in by these thieves!!

This same number called me today saying that I will be arrested if I don't pay $700.00 for a loan from American Payday.  The initial number was 0000 and a women asked for me and informed me that I have a case in the State of California.  So she transferred me to a guy and he said I have 3 felony accounts pending against.  Then he said I was suspect of a felony charge.  Then he told me my whole name, email address, and my social.  This is just alarming!!!  The guy had an  weird accent and I know he isn't from the States.  The call back number he provided is a cell phone and they will not pick up.  This is obviously a scam but these guys definitely needs to be stopped!

I received calls, not only from this number but from a couple of other numbers from people who cannot even speak the English language.  I returned the call at this number yesterday, and a guy (I think it was a man, couldn't tell with the accent) told me he was going to send the local sheriff to serve me and the references I had posted on a payday loan application.  He would not disclose the month of the transaction, and only stated that I took out a $320 loan and now I was being sued for $8500....

Let consumers be forwarned that once you research an issue online, the pack of wolves are right there to jump in and try to eat you alive!!

So, when they ask for my number, I keep telling them it is 1-800- if you keep calling me, I will keep calling you.  I have also been speaking in some language that I don't even understand. They have hung up on me and cursed me out.  Try it.  It will not stop them from calling you but it will stop them from calling someone else while they are tied up with you.  Also, it will waste their minutes.  You know this has to be a pre-paid system.  They will not register their name with a valid cell phone compony.

I have received several calls on my work and personal phone from 661-213-9471.  The reverse number information states that this is a cell phone from CA.  They told me that I have a loan from American Pay Day.  I do not have a loan with this company.  What concerns me is that I did apply for a pay day loan.  So, they must have a way to obtain our information.  They told me that their address was 1327 Chulavista, Irvine, CA.  I was told that the police would be at my job the first thing in the morning if I did not pay $910.23 immediately.  They also asked for my attorney's information.  These people are not from the United States and become angry when asked to speak with someone in the US.  They are using the following names:  Alden Miller and Mark Smith (Attorney).  I hope this helps.

Thanks for the info above.  I just reported the company to the IC3 web site listed above by Ray V.  I have applied for some payday loans, but I knew I didn't get any of them.  But, I was freaked out none the less and actually had a nightmare last night about getting arrested.  Pretty sucky!

I have 26 missed calls from this company (California Law Firm) called back to see what the problem was after being told on a message 'best of luck that everything will fall on me'. This non American voice (Rodger Fredrick's) (Brian Miller) tried to tell me i owed money from a past American Pay Day Loan. This guy told me i was going to be arrested by his firm and became VERY rude when i simply told him i wanted to dispute this case ect. I was told to shut the f*** up ect ect!!! Reporting these recorded calls that i returned to the state of California attorney generals office and the FBI. This is a scam, DO NOT give any money. What boggles my mind, They have my address, phone number, ss#, DOB. I reported a freeze to experian which will freeze all 3 credit agencies. I HIGHLY recommend you ALL to do the same!!

I received a call today (3/28) - also from Kevin Jackson.  This company, or a similar company tried to scam me twice last year.  The first time I almost fell for it, until I stumbled on one of these sites.  The second time I ignored the messages and nothing happened (no arrest, no law suit, no follow up, nothing).  I plan to just ignore the messages this time as well.

i received a call from kevin jackson saying god bless if i dont call back. i called and spoke to a 'supervisor' who was also very rude to me. the man said i had a deliquent loan with american payday loans. i told him i was military and payday loans cannot be completed by military. the man then told me to get lost when i asked for a supervisor above him. he then told me to get my mother so he could have fun with her. he told me he had my info and blah blah blah. if anyone knows of any legal action to take please let me know because i have military lawyers standing by.

I received multiple calls from California Law Firm  they said that I had a court case out from not paying a loan opened with American Payday Loans. He (Alex Young) told me I would be picked up by a officer and taken to jail. Being that this has happened 3 times, and 1 out of the 3 my mother actually paid them because she was scared I would be arrested. I asked the man for all the information he had on my case and informed him I would be calling the police to file a report. He hung up on me and I called back 5 times to let them know I am aware of the scam and not to call. I even had the officer that came out to file a case number tell him to stop calling, hopefully this will stop TODAY. There should be some type of legal action you can do for these kind of situations

Company has repeatedly called me the past few days saying they were with the "California Law Firm".  Would not give me information of who obtained their "services".  The man said his name was Shawn, but it sounded like the call was definitely out of the country.

Just received 8 phone calls between yesterday and today (personal phone and work).  Cannot understand what they are saying and will not give me information of who they are "working" for.  The number did come up as another poster says as "0000".
