His name is Andy Johnson and they are using a magic jack to make their calls. I tried calling them back and when he answered I asked why are you calling my phone and he hung up and when I tried to call back they are unavailable.

Someone continues to call me and harrass me at home. It started last year and they would call and say they are attorneys and the FBI and I had to pay them for a loan I never took out. I have tried everything and I want them to stop. They have a heavy accent like from India.

My husband is getting the same thing. This guy claims to be from a law office in CA and that we are being sued for a payday loan that we never took out. However, when we tell him to send us proof, he refuses and says he doesn't have to show us anything. We are contacting the attorney general in CA and also the attorney general in CT (where we live). I strongly suggest that you do not give him ANY personal information about yourself. Contact the attorney general in the state that you live and report him. They are obligated to show you any proof of a debt that you owe. Good luck :)

This is a scam! Do not answer or return the calls. If you have applied for loans online this is how they get your info. They're not legit and the FTC can't catch them bc they change their numbers. Don't sweat it. Just tell them you know they are a fraud and to bring it on. Cops won't show up to arrest or serve you like they claim. Oh, the stories they tell. Just laugh at them...and say there is no way some barely English speaking man has a name like Joe Brown.

I just find out when you go on the internet apply for anything they tap into the data base and get  half your information. Then they call you and try to get you give them all of your information like your ss number and the bank account or rounting number which I suggest not to do it over the phone. Because they could said that you give them the ok signal to go into your account and STEAL ALL OF MONEY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION SO DON'T DO IT.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm getting calls from some woman who can't speak good english saying she a lawyer at K.W.C Law firm and her name is Ruth Jordan. Now she calling my job at 8:30pm leaving messages after work hours. They are crooks who are trying get money out of me.

I just called them back and went into detail after they answered with "California Law Firm" to NOT call my phone number, I do not have a payday loan, have all the necessary documents to prove that and that I have reported them and their information to the FBI, did they undertand me?? I of course had to repeat myself and he hung up on me. I have been getting the same phone calls word for word threatening me and am so tired of this crap. Guess I will let my kids have at them next time they call.

That is classic, i received the same phone call, and i asked him to send me the documentation.  He said that he worked in John Washington, Law Firm and that they could not produce any of the documents.  I told him that I too have hired an attorney and that my attorney demands the documentation, he refused to produce it...so I hung up

I just received a call from A.J. Smith at this number who said that they were going to file charges against me in CA for a payday loan that i have no idea about. He said that when i go to court, the judge will award them the victory and I will have to pay $8,000. He also said they were going to notify my employer and good luck in keeping out of trouble with them. He had an accent like he was from India. I told him to call my lawyer and he wouldn't take the information I tried to give him.......i wonder why???!!! What was scary though, he had my last 4 digits of my SS# and my checking account.

I just started getting these calls at my job yesterday and received his threat again today. Said the same thing: "If you don't respond to this message than all I can do is wish you luck as this situation unfolds on you!"

I also got a call from this number. Stating that they were Lawyers from CA Law Firm and I have a payday loan that is in delinquent standings and if I dont make it right "Good Luck".  They have middle eastern accents. Whenever I asked them what the name of the payday loan company was they said they couldn't tell me,  The scary thing is that I did fall for a payday loan scam months ago in which I ended up giving them an arm and a leg.  I made a point to call this particular loan company and ask if there was a problem with my payment and they said no.  So, I truly believe that these people are hackers, and that they get our info via these loan applications. I also read up on a few people who applied for loans or credit cards online and received these calls also.  The worst part is some of these people paid theses "Lawyers" large sums of money!  They also had info on me like where I used to work and my address.  The one mans name was A.J. Smith, really, hahaha.  I am reporting them, but in the mean while anyone out there receiving these calls please call authorities.  Its a scam and most likely they have our ssn numbers and all.

Complaints have gone to any agency that could be thought of......The fact is we are not important enough for any agency to care............If we could get them to call a congressman or important lawyers something might get done................they call me with the same speech every so often but now call my children to tell them what trouble I am in............They use my cell number........they also have a new number each time and blocking will not work..........

I get this call every other month or so. They are actually calling me on my work phone and they don't have my name correct either.  It is the same accent as reported in the other entries.  I do hear a lot of background noise (like a call center).

Anyway, I can tell it is a scam so I am not worried about it.

We should file a class action lawsuit against the payday loan companies for releasing our private information.

I received a call directly to my desk in my office by passing the main switchboard from a man with a heavy accent saying his name was "Charlie Brown" telling me the same stuff you mentioned.  When I asked him if the peanut gallery was with him I got no response.  He started again with the threats and I asked him if he was aware that Charlie Brown was also the name of a comic strip character, again I got no response.  I laughed at him and told him he has to do better than that if he wants to be taken seriously and hung up the phone.  I just received a few messages from a Michael Geller with the same heavy accent saying the same stuff.  Do they think we are morons?

I have got the call from 9163950000. But they have my ssn. What to do next? I didnot tell them anything. They just told me that tomorrow officers will come and pick me up for a day. I told him that its scam and he started that go back to your country and do some better job. Its same american pay day where I got some mails. But I never replied. Lets see what to do.

I received the same kind of call from "Victor Brown" calling me and telling me to return his call at that #.  The call was terminated, and the same "Victor" called me a few seconds latter, but this time his name was "Victor Lindsey".  It was the same dude with the accent.  We all know he isn't "Victor Anybody".  I'll call him "Mohamed" since that is the world's most common first name.  I just wish Al Qaeda wold quit harassing me.  I'm changing me # tomorrow!  And using Google Voice.

I am getting the same phonecalls, Indian accent, says he represents a law firm and that charges are being filed against me etc. etc., he wasn't interested in what I had to say.  Scarey thing is he had all kinds of accurate info on me.  I have had two different names, Patrick stewart and Franklin Lobo.  This started last night and they have called several times between then and this morning.  I called my lawyer who did search and this is a scam, she said to tell them I have called the FBI, which I intend to do since my uncle is an agent and cousin is a US marshall.

I got a call today from this number and if I said what he told me Id just be repeating word for word what everyone else said.... kinda scared though he has my address, bank account number and who knows what else Ive had to change all my information now and close many accounts that I feel are linked to it BUT, hoping I can set up a false bank account reverse the game on them making them think they got a sucker with hook line and sinker willing to pay the 8500 dollars in court fees they ar threatning me with! hahaha I let him know he would never see a dime from me as this was bogus and completely non legit. Anyways I figure I agree to pay him with nothing and get an account number I can then trace and put this this scam artist in his place along with sue him for harassment and personal theft!!! whatever else the government wants to do to him they can have at!!! every one of them this is complete bull$@@t to fu$$ with ordinary hard working ppl... The number I get is from the palm dale area California and the name I get to talk to is David Jones not this Mark fellow must have wanted to change it up a bit.... he might as well gone with Jonny Dough might have not seemed so obvious for a middle eastern... If anyone can actually get ahold of them after this let them know Josh said hi and Ill let you all know how this all goes down as I dont intend to sit back and be fooled with or threatened in any way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been getting these calls once a month at work. Back in November I actually called this guy back to mess with him since it is definitely a scam. He told me to listen to his whole "speech" and not to interrupt him and proceeded to give me a 5 minute speal that he was obviously reading and yawned in the middle of it. I started laughing real loud and of course interrupted him and asked him why he was up so late in India calling me at this hour? I then asked him, interrupting him yet again, if he could snail mail me the papers to provide proof of the loan, which of course he said he could not do that. I then asked him to give me my address and the last 4 of my soc# since if he had all of that information like he said he did, he would at least be able to tell me what my apartment number was. And again he could not. This whole time I am laughing and interrupting him repeatedly to the point where he starts screaming on the phone and asking to talk to my HR department at work. When I told him that this was a "personal" matter and had nothing to do with them he finally hung up on me. I did do some research on the company he said the loan was from and called them directly. They said they are getting numerous reports from people about these scammers and that this company only provides corporate loans. So if you get a call from this guy who likes to use American names or his female cohort give them a call back and harass the heck out of them back :)  Our legal system will most likely not be able to do anything to them since they are overseas.

These ppl have been calling me at my JOB harassing me for about 8months. Everytime i try to get information from them (who the loan came from) They Hang up. These ppl have all my information along with my CLOSED checking acct number. I have never had a payday loan and dont need one for that matter. These ppl (middle eastern) are really starting to piss me off. They told me that i am going to go to jail for check fraud and some other crap that i have NO IDEA about. They say the loan is from American Payday Loans and that if i try and contact them they will have no dealings with me. This is ridiculous and frustrating. They called me from +1 2630005 (over seas) But when i asked for their phone number they gave me 661-213-9478. When i told them my caller id showed a number for out of the country he hung up again. Whats really going on in the world? Dont these ppl have something better to do?

I missed a call from this number yesterday.  When I checked the message I heard a Middle Eastern sounding man speaking very urgently.  He was basically threatening me that "If you don't respond to this message than all I can do is wish you luck as this situation unfolds on you!"  Like an earlier poster, I have received a hand full of these messages over the past year.  Always a different guy.  Always a different number.  Always claiming I owe them for a payday loan which I know I never received and my bank has confirmed.  I called the number back but do not remember the name of the man I spoke to.  I'm assuming it was the Mark guy.  When I told him that I am positive I never received any money from them, he got mad and told me that Federal Agents and lawyers would be coming to my house.  I lied and told him I am on vacation to get his reaction.  ME: Well I am in Las Vegas on vacation so tell the lawyers and feds to come back next week. MARK: Well then they will seal off your house so you can't get in when you return. ME: I live in an apartment.  Phone hangs up....

Sounds like a scam to get money out of people.  I will be filing a report with my local police dept. but based on the fact that this # is registered in southern California, I am not expecting much.  Just wanted to share my story to help anyone else who gets harassed by this clown.

this is one of the calls that they say you or your lawyer must call immediately or he can't stop the situation about to unfold on me.  this is the 3rd one i have received over the last 6 months. all 3 have been different phone #'s.  all 3 have had different names.  all 3 have sounded alike w/a mid-east accent.
this last name was mark decosta from a bakersfield cell #.  getting real tired of receiving these calls. don't want to have to change my phone#
