What can I do about these people? I have had this telephone number for over 6 years...they have called several times weekly for over a year. They call asking for someone who does NOT live here, who I do not know and who obviously does not own this number (or hasn't for over 6 years). I have asked them both verbally and through registered mail not to contact me anymore all to no avail. The Do Not Call List will not help because they say that if the person is trying to collect a debt they can call but IT IS NOT ME or MY DEBT! I am on a very fixed income but live debt free. Does anyone have any advice? It costs money that I simply cannot afford to change my phone number. $35 may not sound like much money to most people, but to me it is the difference between eating this week or not.

661-395-5985 called early this morning.
The lady on the phone asked for someone not here.
Ironically, she called the magic jack phone we have and only gave that number to a handful of people so I knew this wasn't a legitimate call. Sorry - what number did you dial? She confirmed my number and I proceeded to tell her that it was a correct number but that there was no "Bob" or whatever name she asked for at this phone number. She then said she was sorry and hung up. Maybe tomorrow she'll call ask for Art or Tom (laughing). Only the phone number came up on the computer so I had no idea who it was and I didn't recognize the area code as anyone we'd given the number to.

I had to deal with Traci Alderman about a year ago because of a complaint I tried to file with the department of education. I was reffered to her and she seemed to fix the problem until I got more harassing calls from somebody else from ACT. Its obvious talking to her didn't help. These people are just mean bill collector out to get your money no matter what. P.s. Something interesting to add though, if you search her name on the Internet a nice set of her pig family photos pops up...strange she would put her family on the web so people can see her ugly face?!?

This phone number calls my cell under this & other (661) ph.numbers and asks for a person by the name of Jeremy Grube. I have received these calls over the last 2 years and they have gone as far as saying they are with the police department looking for this person.

Rude rude rude! Spoke to girl wouldn't give name, asked to speak to supervisor got some "woman possibly a man" calling herself Traci Alderman said I owed a school loan! When I asked who they were looking for they gave me someone elses name. Isn't this against the law to tell me someone elses business?? Traci Alderman even gave me this other person's social security number! I should report her!!!

If anyone needs "skooling" (as you like to spell it), apparently it would be you since your spelling and grammar are not on point.

A woman from this number called my cell phone and left a nearly unintelligible message in which she shrieked something about "swine flu". Within minutes, I had another call on my home phone. The same day, someone from the same number called one of my neighbors and asked her to leave a note on my front door requesting that I return the call. I'm outraged at this behavior. Isn't contacting one's neighbors illegal?

called for someone else, seemed like a collection agency for that joke "University of Phoenix" wanna-be online school.
But when I explained it was my personal cell phone they said they'd update their records, so we'll see if they try calling again..
Unlike other collections that work for Captial One & call my personal cell phone for other people, this woman was polite and calm, not accusatory or rude like the Capital One people are.

Appears to be a collection agency. Called me asking for someone else. Did not identify themselves. I called the number back later and got an autoattendant which identified as Account Control Technologies. Just added them to my Do Not Answer list so that my cellphone will not even take the call.

Got a call on my cell from 661-395-5985. No message left. Have no idea who it is-no one I know or who knows my family. I don't have any debt, so can't be a collector. Hmmmm......

I received a call from this number, no message. I looked them up and apparently they are a collection agency for student loans. Funny, as I have never had a student loan. I called them back, and they asked for my social security number. I told them no, you called me. They looked up my phone number and said, oops, must have been a wrong number. Too many scammers out there, beware!!!

If this site is legit, this would be who to contact

| rox 2011-04-11 16:04:37 Debt Collector |
Its obvious to me that there are some low life bill collectors reading this board. Otherwise everyone should be on the same side here and getting information to and from people. No need to change the subject and bi*** about spelling errors.
BTW I don't know if this site is logit but I googled a collection agency to find other numbers to block and found this site. http://www.stopdebtcollectorsharassment.com/
I hope that it is legit but as with all personal information, buyer beware.

Student loan fool if you made a $4000 loan from a trade school then why are you paying the gov. payments for that loan. Wouldn't you owe that money to the trade school that loaned you the money. Or did you mean that you made a student loan from the gov. to pay the trade school you went. Think I would make sure I'm paying the right person.
