Another telemarketing scammer.  Just file complaints against them at donotcall.gov  fcc.gov  bbb.org and the Illinois AG's office. They appear to be based in ILL.

These are the scammers

Some yahoo called me today from this number.

After stumbling through the name of my business, he asked what we did and what services we provide. He then said they can help us increase our clients while keeping our current clients.

I laughed and told him we're at capacity.  He hung up.

I was about to ask him how he could be so confident in his services when he has no clue what we do.

This number called my work, no one responded and then hung up.

They called back.  Again, at least it wasn't a pre-record, so no points lost there.  Seems they do more than just merchant services now.  They also do some mobile text messaging advertising services (I suppose something like hipcricket.com), and maybe if your daring enough, they'll lend you money.  Of course I didn't want some rep creeping around, so I asked for their web site.  The one I got wasn't valid, so either I heard it wrong, or the telemarketer was messed up.  Anyway, it was 10 minutes she wasn't talking to someone else.

So off to Google I go, and there is surprisingly little to be found.  I found a couple of web sites, but appear to be only for reps or recruiting for more reps.  Got to go to the bottom of page 2 in google to find anything customer facing. Lots of mentions on sites like Glass Door where people don't seem to enjoy working there, and that the 'sales leads' from these telemarketing calls aren't always very good, but they have a rep go out anyway.  Their twitter account, which hasn't been updated in a couple of years, also appears to try to find people willing to work as reps.  The reps seem to be 1099 commission-only, so if they get a bunch of bad leads, then that's tough.  As much as I like to talk to the telemarketers, I kindof feel sorry for the poor reps that get all these bad leads. I wonder if there's any employment laws being broken here...  Could be lots of hours with out much compensation, business use of vehicle, etc.  Also, since they are scheduling the appointments etc for the reps, could there be a IRS issue with them being missclassified as a "contractor"?

Odd that most of the Google stuff I find on them in the first two pages has more to do complaints about working there, with them looking to find reps to pound the street on commission, and such - rather than product quality, features, ... you know... customers.  Sounds like there's a lot of turn-over there.

Unsolicited call about merchant services.  Definitely not interested, but put them on hold to see how long they'd hold one.  Not very long, just about a minute.  Perhaps they will call back.

a man keeps calling from this number but will not leave name and yells on phone.  

Very persistent about setting up a meeting to come and show us how they can save us money. Tell them you are just an employee and they will end the call quickly.

Got a call from this number, they asked for "Ken" who is one of the owners.  Asked who is calling?  Chris from Ameribank (never heard of them) asked if I could take a message as Ken wasn't here (he really is, but not if I don't know who you are).  Chris said no message and hung up.  Maybe you should ask who in the operation handles merchant services?  It's not Ken, it's me.  Now I know who they are and frankly feel they are unprofessional on the phone, plus I don't buy anything from a cold call.  I'm already shopping my merchant services with a local vendor who was recommended to me personally by a trusted friend.

There have been alot of call and hang ups from this number because answer machine answered.  The person who called makes frustrating groans on message then hangs up.

That's a good idea!  Im going to try that way instead of guessing who's number it might be.

I just had this number call me Caller ID said Unknown Name . If Unknown name shows up with unfamiliar phone number, I just let it run thru to my answering machine. I have been out of business now for 4 years and  out of the phone book for 3 . To hell with them if they  dont want to leave a message. Seems like all I get anymore on my phone number is scam callers. One time I told a woman why dont  you quit phone scamming and get a real job? She really got mad at me and said "can you make 40,000 a year like I do ? " I said  yes and I don't have to annoy people on the telephone to do it " That shut her up.

Just called - did not pick up.

How stupid some people are they call residents offering business savings ? don't have a business told them that when I called back something called ameribank merchants services. They are rude & call even though I reported them to FTC . Had enough talked to Lawyer he is going to sue them said to keep records of each time they call & we WILL get a settlement for their harrasing phone calls . !!

Have a heart patient that is at his residence these people call & call . So now have reported them to the FTC local police FBI criminal investigative services & ATG office. Not intersted in anything you have to sell. WE know your are scammers. Bottom feeders too . So go stuff it you know the place.

Don't answer when they call they are rude telemarkters they don't give up but they can waste their time calling if they want. I finally turned them in to the FCC that should stop this bottom feeders & scammers. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sheila from Ameribank, said it wasn't a sales call, but when told I do take credit cards (maybe I do, maybe I don't, who knows...), then of course they tried to push pretty hard for a sales visit.  Do not tell me it isn't a sales call, when the entire purpose of the call is to set up a sales call.  Maybe you think a "sales lead" is different, but it's not.  That is a sales call.  If you'll lie to me at the outset, there's no reason to believe that you won't lie to me about everything else.

This is how my conversation went.
Me: "thank you for calling AS, how may I help you?"
Caller: "Can I speak to "Joe"?
Me: "Jo, who?" (We have several)
Caller: "Joe Smith"
Me: "May I ask who is calling?"
Caller "Emily..."
Me: (sigh) "And you are calling from Where?"
"Caller: "Ameribank..."
Me "Can I tell Joe what this is regarding?"
Caller: "I just have a few questions for him.."
Me (laughing) "Ok...regarding what exactly??"
Caller "Well we just need to ask him a couple questions before we come by tomorrow.."
Me: "Is he expecting you tomorrow?"
Caller: "No, that's why we have to ask him a couple questions"
Me: "yeahhhhhh..."
And into voicemail they go....

If calls are coming through on your business cell phone, check to see if you can enter their number and then put a block on them...

Hung up when I answered...put call blocker on so they can not call again with that number.

Ask for owner I told them it was a corporation we did not have an owner
they said ok hung up

Woman asks for the owner by first name.  I state he is not here.  She says, "is there another owner I can speak to?"  I state no.
I ask what is this regard she will only state this it is a "private business matter."
I state that "the owner" will not want to talk unless he knows what this is.
She states she will call back another time.
I reiterate that "the owner" is not going to talk to her unless I can tell him what it is.
She re-states that she will call back at a better time when he is available.
I hang up.

A woman called. She did not give me her name. She asked for the owner. I asked if i could take a message. She hung up on me. I'm not sure what their intentions are but this needs to be investigated.

Just put these people on hold, they hang up after 20 seconds. I make them repeat everything they say at least twice, and then put them on hold while "I look to see if whoever they are asking for is available"

Waste my time, then I will waste yours...

Very Pushy. Very Rude.

Telemarketer refuses to respect request to be removed from their call list. Now documenting each call in order to take legal action once I determine who the company/criminals are.

received call from 678-278-9167.  When I answered I could hear a lot of ppl talking in the background, but nobody every replied to my "Hello?"  Eventually they hung up.  I called the number back, got menu options for Ameribank National.  None of the options were to be added to the DNC list. Damn!  I'll add their number thru the government.

Ameribank - woman said she could help our company make money. Said it wouldn't cost a thing. I asked then how do you make money. She said if her rep could have just 10 minutes of my time, I'd understand their program. I told her nobody gets anything for free, what's the catch? She kept saying let my rep explain it to you. Told her I didn't have time & leave me alone & then I hung up.
