These poor people are NOT a scam!  I was almost scammed last week by another "supposed law firm" and I saw all the complaints that people have posted about this phone number.  So I took it upon myself to call them.  They are a carpet cleaning business.  This man gets several phone calls from people harassing him because they think he is the one trying to scam them.  He is completely not aware that this is going on.  He stated that he has never even heard of the number 678-321-1141 before. And no I donot work for this man....I am just trying to help him because I know all too well what its like to get unwanted harassing phone calls that you dont deserve.  I think someone stole this phone number and somehow its tied into his business with that magic jack thing people are using.  He was a very nice man and thanked me endlessly for telling him this is going on.

I keep getting these phone calls from Peter Simon and Associates and when you call them back you cant get through. How can I get them off my call list because I recently filed bankruptcy and they just keep calling

I have been contacted both by Starnet and Peter Simon and Associates, I have never returned a phone call but one call was about the fact I misrepresented myself now its a complaint filed with there office. I think this is funny because the only thing i have ever used that they say they call on is Aarons Sales and Lease makes me think they got a list of fomer customers/contacts and are now trying to scam people into paying them money. I really wish someone would just report it to the authorities and get these guys arrested. Thinking about answering them the next time they call and tell them they are being recorded by federal authorities and that they are being traced as well just so they quit calling.

Received  a call (let it go to voicemail) on my company cell phone from a Michael Beckman with Peter Simon and Assoc.  Phone number 678-321-1141.  They were looking for a "Jimmy Rogers"...no idea who that is.  This is a about the 3rd call in the last 4 months I have gotten concerning this person, but previous calls were from Cohen Schwartz and Assoc., who I have instructed repeatedly to remove my cell number from their call list.  Called this new number to tell them the same thing, and they would not transfer me to Michael Beckman (unavailable) and I talked with a Miss Marshall.   Told them that they have wrong number and I do not know any Jimmy Rogers and to take my number off their list.  She started to give me the number for Cohen Schwarz telling me I had to contact them instead, and then got argumentative when I insisted that since the call came from the Peter Simon office, that they had the responsibility to remove my number or they would be hearing from my lawyer.  She hung up just as I said "lawyer".

To Jimmy Rogers somewhere out there....kindly take responsibility for whatever mess you are in and quit giving out my cell number as your own.

I received a call from Michael Beckman on my cell.  The number came up 678-341-5585.  The call back number he left was 678-321-1141.  Before I had been receiving calls from the first number from David w/Cohen, Schwartz & Assoc.  Never called them back  Of couse the usual threats of going to be served court papers, etc.  Same scenerio with you.  I'm doing the same thing...ignoring them.  You can actually contact the secretary of state of your state to find out which bill collectors are bonded in your state.  If they are not bonded, they cannot contact you.

I too keep getting calls from this number.  Ironically I was getting calls from Cohen and associates, and they stopped and these started. Michael Beckman has been the name that is on the machine.  I have learned from this fourm not to call back and am so grateful for the information here.  My ex husband fraudlantly took out payday loans in my name and under my ss and I'm not getting involved with this loan shark business.  Thank you for the advice.

I have been receiving calls from Cowen, Schwarts and Associates for the past couple of months and have never answered or returned the calls.  The first call left on my voicemail stated that I misrepresented a financial matter.  Further calls stated that they were gathering information for collecting a debt.  I blocked all calls from the 678 area code.  After blocking these numbers I received a call from Peter Simon and Assoc that was an 888 number which also went to voice mail stating the same thing.  I also blocked that number.  Now I have been receiving a call from another number which only hangs up and leaves no message.  I have not owned a credit card and have no outstanding debt to my knowledge.  I hve also checked my credit and found no outstanding or unpaid dept. After a little more research I also found that this company may be trying to collect an old debt that they purchased for penny's on the dollars.  Everyone may lookup the statutes of limitation for old debts.  If it is an old debt outside the statute of limitation and they are threatening to sue you is would be a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

I got a call from this company (Peter Simon and Assoc) today.  678-321-1141.  I didn't answer and let the answering machine get it.  It didn't tell me anything except to call this person, can't remember his name now, at this number regarding a serious legal matter!  As i was reading this, i was shocked to find out that they are affiliated w/ Cohen/Swartz and Assoc.  They had been calling, now that they have stopped this other company is now calling.  I'm sick of these phone calls!  I never answer them and never call back.  Maybe i should, but I like to resolve matters, not argue w/ someone over the phone.  Maybe i should just get a backbone and talk back to them and not give them any info. cuz they could have the wrong person or acct, but i doubt it.  I have never had a payday loan or heard of StarNet or anything, which makes me think that they have the wrong person, but they have my married name right, so i just don't know what to do.  Any suggestions???  And i don't know how to file w/ the BBB.

I received a message from Peter Simon and Associates and David Rice stating that they were investigating a case in which I "misrepresented a financial matter."  David answered the phone, and at first couldn't find my file.  We kept hearing clicking on the phone line, which seemed to indicate that we were being recorded.  David was very friendly and stated that all I owed was $110 from Fast Cash.  I told him that I needed something in writing to verify that I was paying the right people and a true debt.  He stated that unfortunately, they needed something today in order to stop legal action.  I began reading all of these posts while I was talking on the phone with him.  Then he began asking me if I was married, if my wife had a job, where did I work, did I own my house, did I own a car.  I refused to answer any questions.  I then explained to him that I would be paying this off in two weeks and then he got his supervisor on the phone.  His supervisor explained that he could not wait that long.  I explained back to him that he would just have to wait.  I was granting him a two week period to send me verification of the account.  I then told him that they should just do whatever they needed to in the next two weeks.

I don't think that this business is a law firm at all, and I am not sure that your account will even be credited if you pay them.  I suggest that you don't send them any money or answer any questions.

I received a call today and it was from Peter Simon and Assosciates.  I have yet to return the phone call.  However, i was concerned and decided to look them up because the message stated that they were returning my phone call and they left a reference number and an email address.  I did not call this company nor do i know who they are so, Im glad that i found this page so i will not be returning that phone call by any means.

I just got a call from Stacy at Peter & Simon, 678-321-1141 ext. 424.  I was told this was for a debt to Loan Point USA and that unless I took care of this they would have to proceed further.  I received a call several months ago from someone telling me that I was going to be served.  I had previously taken out some payday loans and eventually went with a company to pay them all back.  Loan Point refused to deal with them and would not take the money.  Now what, is this legal?

I received a call from this company in may.  They stated that I was being investigated for fraud.  They were giving me information so fast and telling me that I was going to be arrested if I do not take care of this matter.   I asked questions about the information that they had.
It was old information.  My maiden name.  An old bank of mine.
They told me to take care of this matter and get the bank to help investigate who caused this.

I paid the bill and they said they would send me documentation to help with the investigation.

I received NOTHING!
I have left numerous messages.   I finally got someone today.   They double talk.  I told them I would investigate them.   They are sending the documentation today showing who the client was.  

I will be FIGHTING this!  Guaranteed.

I got the same calls as everyone else. Turn them in to your Attorney Generals office as I did and don't worry about it because it id a SCAM!    It is all on the FBI website.

HEY! Got the VERY SAME message for my mother today, it was even the same women, this so called "Sandy". Weird things is, after she gave her "complaint filed over misrepresented check for a financial transaction" spiel, she did not hang up imminently, she lingered for a second and all I could hear was what seemed to be a room full of people talking or arguing (much like a room full of telemarketers). Now I'm currently enrolled in law school and know for a fact that a real call of this nature would be from an official Attorneys desk, not a receptionist in a crowded room, and the personal matter of the phone call would not be presented over the phone. A legitimate message would merely state the Attorneys name, the recipients name and a number to contact, no personal matters would be discussed due to the possibility of a wrong number and the mere private nature of the information. If this women or any affiliated persons call back I plan on threatening them judicially. On top of that, if this "Peter, Simon and Associates" were a real law firm, they would surely maintain a website advertising their services and contact information for potential clients. Ive looked and there is no record of PSA anywhere aside from boards like this claiming phone fraud. This "StarNetINC" seems rather shady as well, on the surface they appear to be some sort of phone service provider, but any further delving leads to simply soliciting personal information for billing without any further information regarding services. If anyone experiences the same type of fraudulent calls I suggest filing a complain with your local phone provider, seeking advice from your lawyer or attorney, filing a complaint with the FCC or BBB. Good luck everyone, hopefully these criminals will see justice soon enough.

I got a phone call from this number stating that I owe this loan company money when I have been dealing with the loan company themselves. They were asking personal questions which was wierd. Then I thought why would they be asking me such questions. They began making threats on what could happen if I don't pay them. It has to a scam.

I just listenend to a voicemail from this company and a "Mr. Brody", about a financial matter that has come across his desk that I really need to discuss with him.  And, he called me by my former name.  When I called they were already closed.  I decided to look them up.  I am so glad I did.  But what he doesn't realize he has messed with the wrong lady.  I have been a paralegal for over 20 yrs and work for very well connected attorneys here in Dallas.  I know collection law in Texas and the Fair Debt Collection Act better than they do.  Not to mention all my accounts are paid.  I can't wait to call him back. Actually, I think I will have my attorney call him back.

I just received a call at my job from this exact number 678-321-1141 they have not given me a case number yet but they have threatened to come to my job to serve me papers to go to court. I told them I would call back but haven?t done so yet?they did say that they are willing to hold off if I pay them a fee and then make arrangements to pay back a PDL. This call came in right after I stopped receiving calls from TPS 888-656-8767 who threatened the same thing. I spoke with my attorney who instructed me not to take their calls. I am guilty of taking out the loan and it was not my intention to not pay back however, things happened and I was not able to pay back?yet. But, according to my attorney they can?t come and break my legs like the old days so all they can do is call and harass. He said not to deal with them at all. He tells me that the good news is that they will go away but the bad news is..they will be back. Eventually, I will pay back but I will not cave in and deal with the harassment. Has anyone ever been served with papers? If anyone has more info I would appreciate it as well. I am glad I stumbled upon this page.

I just got a message from my brother that a lady by the name of Sandy from Peter Simon and Associates callled him, as well as another of my family members, and that they were trying to reach me so they can discuss a complaint against me for misrepresenting a check. The call back number that was given was 678-321-1141 ext 4079. When I tried to call the number all I got was a busy signal. I immediately checked the internet to check out the validity of this so-called company, and I am glad I did, because apparently, according to all theses posts on here, this "company" is a fraud and this is nothing but a scam. Thank God because I had no clue what this could have been! ( and i dont think this was cool since it got my whole family, including myself, very worried and upset!) Jerks!

I am delinquent with FASTBUCKS,(which was apparently sold to Nation Credit Adjusters) but I spoke to the Area Manager here in New Mexico and she told me my account was still active and that she's totally willing to work with me locally.  My balance is just under 300 bucks, which I'll rectify within the next few days.

They gave me an email address, "admin@petersimonandassociates", their phone number is the notorious StarNet Inc (678) 321-1141.

They left a detailed message on the voice mail which they are not supposed to do I am putting a complaint the Federal Trade Comission and they give you a case number.  You should then send it to the stupid company who does not know anything about the Fair Collection Law

Follow up to my post of May 18, 2011. I filed a complaint with the BBB in Atlanta against this Peter Simon & Associates. To date they have not repsonded to the BBB. This is letting me know that they are a scam. Urge everyone to file a claim w/ BBB to get these people to STOP the harrassing.

Got a call from this number yesterday morning, stating I had taken out a PDL in April 2009 and they were trying to collect $1,400 from me or it would immediately be turned over to their litigation department for them to file against me in Tarrant County (I live in Texas).  The man tried all his scare tactics on me and told me I would be taken to court for fraudulent checks.  I requested time to look in this matter and don't you know, they just couldn't give me more time.  I asked them to supply me with something stating who they were and how much money I owed and who the original debt was with.  I am still waiting on this email.  He called me again today at work and I rudely instructed him not to ever contact me at work again .. he hung up.  So glad I insisted on something in writing and did some research on this.

Our local news company is doing a story on scammers this evening. I am not 100% sure if it's in reference to what we've all experienced. It will probably be up on their website this evening as well.

I sent my registered letter to them. It was actually received by someone named Perry Milak. At least I think that's the last name, his writing was so bad, it's hard to say.

I have also confirmed that they are associated with Investigative Recovery. If you look them up, it's another bad "firm"

I got a call today saying that my name was attached to the misrepresentation of a financial matter... which is illegal in the state of Texas. I'm glad this website was here, and that my husband suggested that I check out the firm first. Instead of the caller ID number (678-321-1141), they gave me an 888 number with an extension to call back to. I didn't and won't. The guy said his name was Nick Bordwod. Total scam. I've never even been involved in any "financial matters", let alone illegal ones.

Just received a call from this Number on my cell and work phone number. from a lady named Angela. She claimed I had taken a Loan out in 2009 from a Loan Point USA. Never heard of this before. She couldnt give me the loan original amount just what she claims I owe with fees and everything. She claims that If I dont pay her today or make arrangements to pay I am going to be garnished. She had all of my personal information. Trying to find out if this is real.......after reading all of these comments it seems to be a scam.
