CALLS ONCE OR TWICE A DAY! MOST RECENT DATES 07/05/12 07/03/12 07/02/12 06/29/12!!!!!

Per Kathy from a post in Dec 2011, this is CBE Group, a debt collector. The call is generated by an automated dialer for your phone number. When you pick up, it immediately begins a transfer to a live collection representative who will ask for a specific name. If you don't acknowledge you are that person, s/he will not talk with you.  If they ask for a specific person and you say you're not that person, you cannot take a message, they will grill you for details, and tell you to have that person call them back.

This stupid number has called me about 5 times, beginning a couple of days ago.  I don't answer; they don't leave a message.

Going off of the previous posts, it kind of worries me because I don't have any credit cards or student loans....why would a collection agency call me???

Oh well, I'll just keep ignoring it!

They are debt collectors for sure.  Usually people such as the College Foundation or Sallie Mae uses them when you are behind on your student loans.  I know this because unfortunately I am behind on my payments for my student loans and they have been calling me. I have also heard that Citi Financial and One Main Finance uses them as well.

Keeps calling and does not leave phone number, when i return to see who is it, a menu comes up.

This number comes appears & no messages left.  Then I called back & was asked to respond to am I in New York?  Then it apparently tried to look up my blocked number and asked if I was some unintelligible name.   I hung up and found this site.

Just dont answer it bet what I would do is get thier letter in the mail and send a cease and desist letter in the mail. Then start writing down the dates they call and take a photo of the caller ID. Then when you get the card back from your certified letter wait until they call and tell them they are violating the FDCPA and that they got your letter on that date and they called that many times and that they can be sued for $1000 for each call and file a complaint with your state and FED! Hey I have some debts due to my illiness and most are credit card, I just get their letters and send the my own letter and they have to stop!Caller: CBE Group

I have been getting calls from this number for the past week.  I've never gotten calls from them before.
I am out when they call but they leave no message.  A couple of times there appeared to be a message, but it was just 3 minutes of static and off/on music, actually sounded like road noise in the background.  Once a young man's voice cut in to ask "hello, hello" then he hung right up.  That too was preceeded by static and music for a minute.  We have no bad debt, and don't know anyone from this area code.  I just don't anwer any calls, for any reason, that I can't identify who it is or why they are calling.  If important...they'll leave a message.  Also, my email was hacked this week - maybe some connection for a scam?  It's best to be careful!!

Obviously its a debt collector. People that you owe money to hire all these random small collection agencys to hound and harrass you. The collectors buy your account from the biz owner and they try to see how much they can get off of you. Once the debt has gone to a collector that means that your account has been written off. The collectors have several years to try to get you to pay. For each state its a different amount of time. If you just blow it off, they can't do you much except give you a bad credit rating. As soon as you acknowledge that the debt is yours, than the time starts over again. Just don't acknowledge that its yours.

I answered, all they said it is a personal matter, and needed to talk to Alan, I asked if I could take a message, and they said no. So I do not think it is a place of Business, or they would have giving me some kind of information. On my Caller ID it had The CBE Group, I have no idea who this is.

Calls and when you answer the gay on the other end ask for a different person each. Three times a day she calls.

Same here. No voicemail left either.

Received 2 calls from this number today in the span of 3 hours.  They haven't left a message, and I don't know anyone from that area code.  Interesting that John (above this post) received calls from this number not even 24 hours ago.

Reciveing 3 calls a day form this. Have no idea what this # is about.
