Keep getting calls from Process & Summons Dept. at work. They are listed in the BBB as fraud. Look them up and get all the info you need so you don't fall victim to these people. They will also call you using a number with an area code near you if not your own area code to trick you in answering. Do not give these people any personal information. Ask for proof in writing and do not give them your address since they should already have it if they are legit.

Just received call with message being left for someone I've never heard of with a case number and threat of civil suit charges. If they call again I'll pass this message and number along to our local police department.

Annoying. No debt here. Let it ring or give the phone to your young kids.

Going back as far as May 24th 2013, I have received numerous calls from different phone numbers the latest being 678-3944-4275 on 06-10-14, saying that I am delinquent on a payday loan that I had paid off on 04-20-11.
When I went to the local police dept., they checked on the latest ph. # & reported that it was a scam.
They also suggested: That I change my ph. #, & not answer the calls anymore.
So now they have my new ph. # & I just let all of their calls to voice mail.
I've also told my family who have been receiving these calls to just disregard them.
When I check my credit report, there's no such debt.

These scammers called once with a robo-call threatening court summons in my county. Lol, just let it ring. If it's valid, they would mail something but they never will.

Total scam. They are using a spoofing software to hide their location. I received recorded call from area code 802 (Vermont) and the exact recorded call a minute later from area code 678 (Georgia). Don't return the call. They are using a data base from old payday loans trying to scare people into paying money they don't owe.

this number called me at home and work stating the same thing. you will be served and so on. they also called from this number ten minutes later 8024485953. this will be the third number I will be blocking. these people are sick and will never stop. is regarding a payday loan.
I was told by the police department not to answer their calls.
DEFINITELY A SCAM!

they are calling me and harrassing me for no reason.
| Elspeth 2014-05-27 14:50:29 Unknown |
It's a scam. If you were being charged with a crime, the cops wouldn't call you first - they'd just show up. Debt is civil, not criminal, so if even if you've defaulted on a loan, you cannot be arrested or charged either!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.
