I get a call from this number about once a week. Does not leave a voice mail

I got a call fromt his number but they didnt say anything when I answered just blank and then the sound when someone hangs up.... I dont know what it is but I dont like it

I called them back and got a recording that said "You have received a call from a Fund Raising Center, for a Safety Center in your state, please leave your phone number and someone will call you back"  It's bad enough they call 7 days a week, but then they give a recording and want to call you back again!

Despite being on the Do Not Call list I got so fed up with all these unwanted calls (including from 678-846-0512 Georgia Firefighters Association) I found this neat little unit that can be programmed to either block or send unwanted calls to your answering machine without your phone ever ringing! You can add as many numbers as you want and even program it to have ALL 800, 888, 877, & 866 numbers dumped straight into the answering machine. I’ve had it about three weeks and love it. My elderly mother-in-law gave these ^&%^@# $10 and they will not stop calling even after being told to stop.  They just will not stop and i am fed up! The same male wanted to argue with me over the legality of his calls and stated "Well, it is not illegal because it a business call"  I told him that he was wrong and he said "whatever man" and hung up.  He usually calls in the mornings just after i go to sleep after working night watch at the PD.  Today i will try to call them back and express my intentions of seeking an arrest warrant for harassing phone calls per Ga Law § 16-11-39.1.

STOP CALLING ME. I'M NOT GOING TO ANSWER.

Glad to know that this is that group faking out to be in support of firefighters.  I have learned my lesson and I hope that you can pass this along.  After innocently giving to them they sold my name and number to other "fake" organizations that try to convince you that they represent someting valid.  I was later told by a real firefighter that he has never heard of this organization and to not give them money.  I told them that I would report them to the police if they called again and hung up.  that kept them away for about 6 months and now they have started up again.  I guess it is time that something is done about this scam.

Calls recieved almost every day from this number. VM never left! Who is it?

I have been donating to the Gaffa, Gapva (paralyzed vets) and the one for the police (I dont recall their initials). It started out with the police org. and before I knew it all 3 were calling. When I told the GAFFA to quit calling they became very nasty. I was spending hundreds a year. Then I remembered that these donations are not tax deductible. All of my other donations are. Sounds fishy to me. Asked to be taken off all lists. The persistence of their calls also made me uneasy. Be careful!!!!!!

I have logged over 120 calls in the last three months from this number on my phone's caller history. I feel like they are violating the sanctity of my home and I REALLY resent paying nearly $100 a month for my telephone service so that THEY can conduct THEIR business on it!! I hang up on them all the time.  You'd think they would eventually get a clue.  I wonder if GAFFA is an acronym for "GA Fire Fighters Association" and if they have hired a 3rd party telemarketer to solicit charitable donations on their behalf.  It's hard to know because the few times I have answered calls from this number, no one was there.  The National Do Not Call Registry does permit calls from political or charity organizations, but there is a rule about this.  If a 3rd party telemarketer is hired to call & ask for charitable donations on behalf of another organization, you can ask them to stop calling.  If they keep on calling, you can report it on the FTC website (www.donotcall.gov) and they may be fined up to $11,000.

Sadly, this is not true of ALL departments.  The ones here make the officers buy them themselves and don't even front the officers the money to buy they and deduct it from their checks, but they will for their uniforms.  Aren't those officially part of the uniforms if they are required by the agency??  Sorry a** local governments if you ask me...

Got to agree with the rest of your message though.  There are ALWAYS ways to donate to ANY organization in person.

It isn't the Georgia State Firefighters Association.  They do not solicit donations over the phone, they get funding from the state and from the firefighters in the state that sign up for membership (I am one).  Their Area code is 770, not 678.    It also is not the Georgia FFA Association.  They are also a 770 area code.

I think this is just a marketing company because a return phone call does not get an answer, only a busy signal.  Most collections calls at least answer the phone with an automated voice system.

OK ... i can clear this one up ... it is the GA. state patrol Faternal order of police fundraising line ... and yes my spelling sucks and no ... dont answer unless you wanna help them buy some new guns or whatever they spend donations on...

Got call from same number and caller id says "GAFFA". Nobody talks when I answered. This is very anoying since they keep calling almost every day.

Sorry , that I contributed $21.00 to the Georgia State Police and will not do it again.  We keep getting calls before 9 a.m. and before 9 p.m. from GAFFA.  I called the state police number and they know nothing, they say. The sticker on my car window means nothing and Iam scraping it off, today..

I am getting call from 678-846-0512 all the time often more than 3 times a day.  How do I stop this?

PS. Never Never Never Never donate anything over the phone.  I'm a cop and we get this all the time.  One person called and was collecting money to buy cops bullet proof vests.  HE hung up when i told him that the police departments in Ga buy the vest for the officer if they want them.

If you would like to donate call your local Pd and ask to speak to a person who can handle that for you and get a receipt.  If you really want to donate to a cop come find me!!!!!

If you get your number unlisted, remember anyone that knows your name can call 411 or operator and they will gived it to them.  If you want to stop anyone from obtaining your number this way the number has to be Private.  The phone company will tell an inquirer they have no such customer.

this fool has called and called and called!  thye call early in the morning and all through the day.  when you pick-up and hang-up they call back, but you can't call their # back.  How do you block it or get it to stop?

My daughter recceived a call from this number. She told them I was still at work, and asked who was calling.  The lady on the line said to tell me it was a courtesy call.  This is odd, because I recently donated to the Sheriff department.  I would not donate over the phone, I have them mail the donation request to me.  It looked legit.  But I did not recognize this number on my caller ID.  I took the suggestion above and blocked the number.

Since they call for "non-profit" organizations they don't have to abide by the no-call listing.  I get these calls ALL the time, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day.  After 9PM at night, before 8AM, even on Sundays.  Giving doesn't stop it either, they just call again and say it's been 3 whole months since you gave.  I get calls for Sheriff's department, Firefighters, injured police.  I'm not a cold hearted person, but I can't give to everyone!  Don't these city workers have insurance policies for when they get injured?  Don't my tax dollars pay for those things?  I feel used and abused!  I can't stop the calls.  I just don't answer anymore.  I'm about ready to disconnect my landline to get rid of the incessant money begging callers.

they call repeatedly, refuse to take me off their list.  They claim to be calling for the Georgia State Firefighters Association; when I asked GSFA is this was true, they said they have no knowledge or relationsship with GFFA.  I have filed a complaint with the National Fraud Bureau and will see what happens.
I asked the rep who called me to explain why the GSFA didn't know them, asked who was lying to me, his response was 'Not us', so i guess GAFFA's story is that the firefighters in Georgia are lying so-and-so's.

I received a call this morning from GAFFA.  I did not answer. I looked up GAFFA on Google, and the listings are for GSFFA.org. (Georgia STATE Firefighters Association). However, it could very well be the same association.  I may pursue this and call them to see if their fundraisers are using GAFFA for their caller ID.  I really wonder how much of this fundraising is legitimate. We don't give to anyone who calls.

Mine was for firemen.  Wanted a pledge on the spot told her that I didn't do that.  She got king of Pi**y, so I thanked her and said goodbye.

went to a reverse phone detective website.  Wanted to go ahead and buy the info to be able to find outthe full report but in all honesty has me too paranoid to do so.  

Also as I was reading some of the posts out loud to my Boyfrind he also mentioned how he has also dontaed to the fire fighters as well.  So... yea, whats going on?

The number called and the caller ID said GAFFA.  same 678-846-0512.  I also donated to the fraternal order of police maybe a month ago.  So far only one call from this number.  I usually dont answer calls I dont know but with so many friends out of town I figured maybe they were calling from someone elses house, when I answered no one said anything and then it just went dead with that beep beep beep as if they hung up on me after I answered.  I dont know but it does not sit well with me.  If they did sell the number then they can forget any future donations from me and I willg et my number changed tomorrow and get it unlisted.  If they call again the number will be blocked.  But I will def. keep this site on my favorites just to keep anyone updated on this and if you guys could do the same it would be awesome
