On June 19, 2012
I received a phone call from phone number 1-253-382-9903 to reduce my interest rates to all major
credit cards, visa, mastercard etc. They did not just want your credit card number from your statement
but the number from your physical card. I knew then it was a scam. I did not give them any of my
information.
Thank you.

So now here I go having to get another card issued out to me. So message is ~ Don't ever respond to the random email from any bank. Just call. This is fraud.

I just dealt with this "IT IS 100% SCAM" OUT OF VILLA RICA, GA. Lucky thing is that Chevy Chase Bank had flagged my account due to spending trend had increased. I felt stupid for giving this no name phone number my info but it the security poeple at chevy chase had answered their phone then I wouldn't have done it. I ended up having to get a new card and pin. Why doesn't some federal agency get these people.
guinnynana 2009-06-17 21:41:12 Unknown
I just received the same e-mail about my credit card. Of course, I did not fall for it. I had received e-mails before about the same thing and I checked it out and just deleted it from my mail. Banks don't work that way and people who fall for it should check first. I would never give my card number to anyone.

I just got the same email, the biggest tip-off (as I just got an Amazon credit card) was the grammar, which is always off in scams.
EX:
For your security we have deactivate your card.
How to re-activate your card ?
Banks wouldn't speak like this. Forwarded to Chase
texas man 2009-06-16 14:06:24 Unknown
same here just got the email fwd it to abuse@chase.com
Lorraine 2009-06-15 16:46:54 Unknown
Call Chase ASAP and tell them what you have done. The number is on the back of your card.
KatrinaL 2009-06-14 23:06:16 Unknown
Same as everyone else, I just received the same e-mail. I have never had an account with Chase....that was the first tip-off.

I got this email, too, saying the same thing. People who are not computer savvy get taken by these emails everyday. There's a sucker born every minute. If there's one reading this message, check where the email is coming from. If it's not coming from a "chase.com" address, it's definitely not authentic.
Drew D 2009-06-14 18:47:26 Unknown
Yep, just got the same thing... The number isnt listed on any of Chase/Wamu's websites. Totally fraudulent.
get-a-brain 2009-06-14 17:48:38 Unknown
Call the credit card company using the number on the back of your card, cancel the card immediately, since you just gave your account information to criminals.
Second, get a fricking clue. Banks don't work this way. People like you keep this criminals in business!
