If you call them back, they give you the option to have your number removed from their calling list just by pressing 3. I just did it. I hope it works.

Answered a call from this number and it was a pre recorded message. I filed a complaint with the FCC

678-951-8227 - claims "This is a public service announcement from the Dept of Motor Services your paying too much on car insurance - press 1 to be connected to an Agent and we can help you in 6 minutes find a cheaper auto insurance "  ~~~ once connected she said " How many vehicles are you insuring? I asked the girl who I was speaking with and she said "an independent agency that finds the cheapest insurance with many brokers" so I said "So I am not talking to the DMV?" she said "No" and I said "But that is what your call said" she responded "I've heard the recording it says a consumer report says according to DMV you pay to much" I said  "I know what I heard" ~ and of course she said I have lots of customers waiting and hung up on me! HA Of course I reported it to the FTC ~

Got call from them, didmn't answer. Have added them to my REJECT list in my phone.

I have greatly reduced the number of calls to my cell phones by going to my carriers website (Verizon) and they allow me to block up to 5 numbers for 90 days. Since these scum change numbers every 30 I have had a very peaceful time. Call me once shame on you, call me twice shame on me. I also put it in my contacts list under Scum Suckers and assign it NO ring tone so at least after the first call they won't bother me anymore (I have filled all of the numbers in each and am up to Scum Sucker 47 now). This is only a whack-a-mole solution however it is the only one I can offer.
The criminals behind this operation aren't going to pay attention to you asking to be removed from their list. Their calls cost them nothing and they can make a million of them a day so they have no intention of ever removing someone. When you press a key to talk to them all that is accomplished is to verify that they have a working number.
If you want to stop these calls then you need to dry up their revenue source. Your phone company is charging you a fee for caller ID. Your phone company pays the scammer for sending their caller ID information. Your phone company pays only a fraction of a cent per call and you pay $5 to $15 to your phone company. The scammers send out millions of calls per day which amounts to a significant amount of money however your phone company is charging a large amount to millions of customers. This may have something to do with the phone companies inability to stop these calls. You can also see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet.
In order to stop this we need legislation making it illegal to charge for caller ID. If a phone service wishes to operate it would need to provide the caller ID at no charge to other phone providers and to it's customers as part of the service. Here is the $50,000 solution that the FCC is looking for and it doesn't cost anything.
Civil action by the FTC against such criminals is totally ineffective. These criminals need to be charged with Federal Felonies and subjected to significant jail time. All of those involved know that they are violating FTC regulations. The FTC levies huge fines, then rescinds them based on inability to pay. The FTC settles for the minimal cash on hand, and enjoins them from future telemarketing. The criminals sign off, then go right back to business as usual. These same people under different companies have been sued in the past and have only paid a minimal fine. The government needs to go after them using the RICO act. That will be the only effective means of dealing with this.

Same as all the above.  Got through to a live person and asked to be removed from call list.  Got thanked with another robocall from a different company two hours later (541-257-1290).  Coincidence?  I think not...  Filed a complaint with www.donotcall.gov

2 calls to a cell phone that is only used for emergencies. Why do they bother these unused cell phone numbers?

my phone rang, I let it go to voicemail because I did not recognize the number, so I called it back, and it said something about my auto insurance was too high and I am entitled to get it lower or some kind of discounted rate was available for me..... so, I pressed 1 to talk to some person, she got some basic information but I did not give her mine Social Security or my drivers license number or anything like that I just gave her my addres, name, and date of birth..... she said hold on and I am going to transfer you to somebody so they can help you further, so I waited a minute, so she got back on the line and said the guy was busy and he will call you back as soon as he gets finished on another call.... so I have not received any call back yet and I have been waiting for a couple hours now..... strange, lol

Received a call from this number on my cell phone which typically does not get "pest" calls.  It showed as "Georgia, USA" and left a piece of a recorded message on my voice mail as follows, "for more information press 1 now."  Glad I didn't answer.

Called for an advertisement about auto insuarance. When I called back, I got automatic answer from a robot.

Got a call just now.  Only reason I answered is because it was a local area code.

When I answered, the robot was already mid-spiel, tried to claim that Department of Transportation records indicated I was paying too much for auto insurance, and to "Press 1" to talk to someone about it.  No other options were given, and when I didn't do anything, the robot ended the call.

Got call once.  No message.

Got call once. Georgia number that let no message.

I got the same call. It was a machine trying to sell auto insurance.
