I received 2 calls the first day and 2 the next. The person identified himself as a Investigater Timothy Dupree and said they were looking for my daughter or a warrant would be issued for her arrest for check fraud -back in 2005 !!

I got a call from them today. It was rediculous. In no manner can a debt collector threaten you with jail. All they can do is take Civil action for the amount original loaned plus interest (a legal amount not the billion percentage they try to say they can). There is no way they can just call and get a warrant. They are not a judge or even a member of the police force. The got extremely angry the more questions I asked them such as their business liscense number and their address. He pressed for my account information saying I had committed depository check fraud. Seeing as I deposited no "check" I dont see how that is possible. I eventually hung up on him. I called my attorney right away and they said he had no grounds to even suggest my arrest. This is a scam. I asked what company they said I owed and he wouldnt give me a number an address NOTHING. I have filed a complaint with the FTC.

I have been getting calls from a mrs. Lunar from ebss and assocuates claiming they are going to turn my name in to the police for a warrent and once I began to talk with them they were very unprfessional about the conversation and wanted me to send money into them that i have not even borowwed

I received a call on December 19, 2011 From Ervin Bowen at number 678-974-1712. He left a message saying that he was a detective investigator and has a warrant for me and that i better call him back asap. He left a name Mike Robinson and left and 888 number for me to call with a case number. I called the 888 number and got a recording that it was a collections agency. Then today (1/3/12) i got another call from a guy from the same number and my mother answered the phone. he proceeded to say he was a detective and I had committed check fraud, I then took the call and he said the same to me. I cant remember what name he gave me but he sounded like the same man who left the message, when i told him that he said that he never called me before, when i started to ask him questions he insulted me by calling me a theif and then said whoever the woman was in the background (my mother) probably didnt have a penny to give me and then put the call on hold. I hung up. What can i do to report this harrassment? I live in florida.

Like any other debt collector, "Franklin" would have to prove that anyone she had called really owes her money she is soliciting from total strangers. Not only she can not prove that debt is existing, but she is very well aware of that. That is the real reason as to why she is bulling people she does not even know. into forcing them to give her money over the phone. If she has legit way of proving anyone owes her money, why does she not do her job in an appropriate way? All the other debtors do! When was the last time anyone calls you asking you for your personal financial information to take your money without even telling you the name of the company they work for!!!? And using the word investigator instead debt collector, so that you get scared and give them all your information about your accounts and all that over the phone to a person you have no idea who they are, for some debt they can't even prove to you? REALLY???!!!! And then "Franklin" feels she has right to make a threat if you dare to ask her to prove to you why she wants your money for! REALLY????!!!!

Apparently they are still at it.  Now also from 678-974-1979.  This time a woman, 'Investigator Franklin,' informs me that I have an old debt (curiously with a company I used to do business with) and that I owe over $1400.  I told her that my recollection is that any debt was settled and that I need to check my records.  Well she informs me that  my "Time is Up" and you have to pay now, and that she 'Has the Upper Hand in this matter."  I told her that under no certain circumstances do I hand out banking and credit card information to anyone over the phone.    Not sure if these folks are the scam they purport, however I will suggest to anyone that is paying any debts over the phone that you know damn well who you are talking to if you do have the guts to hand out such information.

I received a message and called them back within an hour. They said the person that called me is not with the company any more! Really? Reported it to my local police, to FTC and AG. Misrepresentation is punishable by law, so is abuse and all other low life techniques. I told the person never to call me again. The criminal that I spoke to told me never to call them again and hung up on me. A little later another person calls and asks for me to call them back. (set up!) I don't know how they got my name and they are not giving a reason for call. It is called abuse.
FTC has file on this group and wants me to call them again and update the complain every time they contact me. They called me with threats 5 times within an hour at work. I saved all messages and will file a suit in court for braking the law. An attorney wants to file class action suit. ($1000 fine for braking the law.)

Received a call from Regina Smith of County Investigative Services.  She asked me to return her call regarding a "due process" investigation in which I am "the accused".  I called back and was connected to Scott Anderson because Regina was not at her desk. He put me on hold for a long time to grab the report off Regina's desk.  He asked for the last four digits of my phone number.  He was very vague, and didn't really clarify what kind of case was being investigated.  This is definitely a scam!  Beware and warn others!

I received a message from "Regina Smith" stating that I was "the accused" in a "due process" investigation.  She asked me to return her call.  I called back and was directed to Scott Anderson who said Regina was not at her desk.  He put me on hold to check her desk and came back on the line to ask what the last 4 digits of my telephone number are.  Everything seemed intentionally vague.  I told him they had the wrong person.  My mother received a call the same day from Regina asking her relationship to me.  I told her not to call back.  This sounds like some kind of scam.

My friend received a call from Investigator Hammer. Said they were trying to reach her relative because they had a fraud case against him and that their client was going to process an application for an arrest warrant. The caller told my friend that they needed to contact him by Friday 10/14/11 and get his statement.

No. 1 - the only ones that can get an arrest warrant are cops or other law enforcement personnel;
No. 2 - cops don't call family members and threaten arrest (not usually) and normally work their investigation up without divulging threat of an arrest.
No. 3 - if they are calling from an agency they will let you know what agency they are calling from.

I received a call around 11:46 AM...it was Nicole Kelly (wow this girl is busy & I feel bad she needs to work for SCAM Artistist)  Said Hi this is Nicole I'm calling about a fraud claim where you were accused of depositing a check...I'm like what...she then said you have a fraud claim for writing a bad check...well the last time I checked deposting money and writing a check are 2 different things (she also had my name) I allowed her the opportunity to read off her piece of paper (typical telemarketer or biscam artist) but I interupted her several time asking tons of questions, Check #, amount, who it was made out to (surprisingly she had a name, but of course it is a place that only accepts Cash, I called them to verify, its a Tailor)  She was frustrated she cldn't finish her speach, she asked if I wanted to speak to her Supervisor, I said yes I do. So of course Mr. big himself comes on the line, I listened and started asking him lots of questions as well .after he realized I was a little smarter than him he said ma'am we are not calling to collect the money we are an investigating service we were hired by the company you wrote the check out to find you.  Well, I haven't moved since I moved from my parents home. I asked him how much the check was he stumpled with words and said mmm  well $180.00, but of course he tells me they don't have the check. Now if I were writing a check to the tailor for $180 I'd buy a new pair of pants or dress. Really! I wouldn't get it tailored.. What a Dumb A**  sorry, but this is a huge scam.  He tells me he is going to send out a warrant, I proceeded to ask him which County, of course he had no clue..I said really you don't have a clue..another thing is why would any company seek this so called "Investigative Service" when they can go to the court house themselves..Also, did I say this Company is in GA and I live in PA...and this guy is going to put a warrant out for me.  GOOD LUCK!!...I told him to do whatever he has to do and hung up on him. My father is an attorney, he alerted the State Attorney and the State Prosecutor and gave them this number to File a Complaint.  Also, the judge is my dad's friend and he said a third party can't submit a warrant the party you wrote the check out to can.  Remember me saying the Company they supposingly said I wrote the bad check to does not even accept checks...so I know I never wrote a check out to this company or even have a bad check to anybody!!!  Okay, . when and if you write a bad check the system works like this,...1st the company will notify you, 2nd it will follow up with a letter asking for payment via cash or money order or some type of certified monies..If you don't respond it will then take the 2nd step which would be take the bad check to the prosecutors office in the county you live in and go from there.  they are not going to pay an outsider to collect money on a check..why would they a prosecutor is alot cheaper.  Oh yes and by the way did I also tell you that the tailor I supposingly wrote the bad check to told me that they don't accept checks and if they did she would have called me since she calls me when my clothes are done being tailored to pick them up. This is a HUGH SCAM....  I have to say stuff like this freaks me out...of course I'm single and just trying to keep my head above water..with the economy the way it is...and I'm doing a great job doing so...but come on anybody will do anything to RIP INNOCENT PEOPLE OFF!!    You SCAM ARTIST need to get a JOB...

she tld me I'm a part of a fraud investigation for a check written.  She put her supervisor on the phone because I asking lots of ?'s (only because I knew I never wrote the co. a ck)  i then asked the supervisor to send me a copy of ck, didn't have it. then he told me they only do the investigating they don't collect money   WHATEVER!!   I got off the phone called the company they told me I wrote the ck to which I always pay for cash and they told me they don't accept checks.  Of course the supervisor sd there was a warrant out, I asked what County, he then back pedals and sd oh there will be one out.  This company should be the one investigated...I finally said to him, okay I heard enough of your garbage...I have recorded this call he started yelling...so I hang up.  WHAT A JOKE!!
