OK. I just got a call from this number. Glad I looked it up before I called back. The guy who left the message did not have an accent but he was *coughing* badly throughout the message and I could hardly make out what he was saying! I just heard "my name is... cough.. resumé on Yahoo! ...cough... position with...cough... in Atlanta... cough..."

WTF. Who does that? Not returning the call. Very shady.

It is getting really really hard to apply for work these days.  I have encountered two scams, just today, including this number.  I am usually pretty good about avoiding scam job postings but it is really scary to think that I am sending these people my resume.  How did this guy even get my cell phone number? scary.

I got a call from this number today, and the voicemail sounded sketchy so I decided to google the number, and the " company" name.  Thanks for the heads up.

Today is July 26, 2010. I got a call a few days ago and the caller left a voice message. He identified himself and said he was from Bankers, as best I could make out -- the sound quality was not to clear. Then he said he was located in Tyrone, GA. Tyrone, GA.! Oh my Gawd...that's 109 miles from where I live! I'm not likely to relocate to Tyrone, GA. Not unless of course the pay is right...really, really right! My resume was passed to him by his "Boss"...which the "Boss" got from Careerbuilder.com. They had a job opportunity and if I was interested to give them a call.

I always check a business out before I apply or make actual contact, when I'm dealing with job search sites. I need to know who the business is, what they do, their location, etc. I wasn't sure I heard the name of the business clearly, so I set out to research the phone number. The phone number led me to this website and I'm glade it did. My research of the company stops here. I don't need to know anything else about this job opportunity.

I haven't time for this kind of foolishness. I will now ask CB and other job search sites to not post my resume to any and all employers, only to those I apply to. It seems job search sites are a Mecca for scamsters seeking to prey on the unemployed and sometimes desperate people, needing to feed their families. People must be discerning, vigilante, and report scamsters at their every turn.

Thank you so very much for the info you posted JW Duncan. "800 Notes" is now in my FAVORITES Folder.

I'm currently job hunting in the Atlanta area for contract or direct hire work. CareerBuilder has been infamous for Job Scams. Normally I see them in emails and avoid them, however for two days consecutively, I've received those phone calls from crooks telling me I would make $80k per year plus to sell insurance.....after I pay them $250 for Training, another $75 for state licenses, and cold call to sell insurance to Senior Citizens.

This caller was doing something similar and did call from a local number, which turns out to be unpublished or fake so far. He was surprised I already knew about his scam and his company, they are common in Atlanta, Ga and most of the country. He had a very heavy middle Eastern accent, which automatically set off alarm bells with me.

He gave up this website name:  http://www.bankers.com/

When I questioned him about the details of the "Job Offer", it was clear it didn't exist and they wanted to "Train" me for the position and possible management openings later. He confirmed I would have to pay the license and training fee up front, and would not be paid directly by them.

I asked him to send me more information by email, he claimed my email address wasn't in the resume he saw. (It is). I asked to to tell me what profession I was job hunting for in the resume, he couldn't. I repair Computer and Electronic hardware to component level, plus work in professional stand up comedy. He'd clearly never seen my resume.

This company is already known to me as a scam. Anyone that asks you to pay them any money for any reason to work for them, is a crook out to steal from you. I told him I couldn't work for any Muslim since they have declare Jihad on all Americans, then hung up on him.
