A Canadian TV show that did an expose on a telemarketer.

They were in Pakistan.

The DNC (do not call list) can not stop calls from out of the USA.

There is absolutely nothing the US or Canadian gov't can do about them.

Received an illegal recorded phone solicitation from "Home Security," stating that there was a burglary in my neighborhood or that I had been referred by a friend. Bullsh*t. I believe this is a scam operation.

Reported them to donotcall.gov and will search for their true identity so I can file a civil suit and recover statutory damages.

ID says GENESIS GUTTERS. No message left.

So glad to see the rock is being rolled of the Home Security fraudsters. I receive calls from these idiots three times a week. As SCUser reports above these creeps use an assortment of numbers to reach unwitting dupes. DON'T BE A DUPE! Don't answer ANY call with a caller ID of "Home Security."

Keep getting calls from this rip-off group. They use different numbers and keep calling. I've been on the Do-Not-Call registry since day one and verified annually but just get garbage calls from these or other groups daily. A lot of good registering on DNC did.

They just left only a partial voice mail recording. I've been called many times by this company over the last few months... and usually from a different phone number. The gov't needs new legislation about this new type of telemarketing  pest. The gov't Do Not Call Registry clearly doesn't work anymore. These companies are finding their way around the law, making it harder for them to be caught and fined.

Just received a call from this bunch.  CID says "Home Security".  

This comes on the heels of many days of receiving calls that either just say "OUT OF AREA" with no number, or "Private Call" with no number.

With no number, there's no way to report, and no way to block.

The slime at the bottom of the human barrel are getting desperate.

We have received calls from them off and on for several months now.  I've answered the phone and each time it holds for a few seconds and then hangs up so I never get to talk with anyone.  We already have a home security system so their calls are total nonsense, especially since we are on the Do Not Call list as most are.  My husband and I pay for our phone and should be able to regulate who calls and who doesn't but for some odd reason, the phone companies have taken that choice / freedom away from us by allowing companies to buy up a bunch of numbers and abuse us.

Years ago I worked at the Cols OH PD and took certain reports over the phone ~ one of those was telephone harassment reports.  In order to get your message across to them you may have to follow this procedure.

Keep a record each time the call comes in with Date, Time and Who the caller is.  If you talk with them, make note of who you talked with and what was said including any hang ups when you tell them to quit calling (always get their name first and act like you're interested in the product to get their name and hope they are honest and give the right one)

Once you have a good running record (several calls a week), contact your phone company and ask to have a tap put on the phone.  They will send you the necessary paperwork for you to fill out.  Make a copy of your log so you can keep a copy and attach the other copy to that report.

Phone company will notify you of the dates the tap will be active on your phone.  Continue to keep a record for yourself

Once the tap is successful (and only if it is successful) the phone company will let you know they have the information on the caller.   THAT INFORMATION will NOT be given to you ~ it will be sent to the prosecutor's office and they will summon both of you in to work out the problem.   At that time you can ask the prosecutor in front of the guilty party what you have to do to sue them if they ever bother you again.   That is if the company rep shows up.  If not discuss your options with the prosecutor.

This is how it was handled in Franklin County Ohio.... talk with your local police department or prosecutors office to see what their laws / procedures are as they could vary.  What is sad is most won't want to be bothered because it's a minor problem in their eyes but if people let them talk them out of following through, these kinds of problems will never be resolved.

Keep getting calls from these jerks.  Never answered any of them.  Have blocked and reported them in the past.

I keep getting these calls all day and all evening. Tried to call them back but no answer. I am on the do not call list - don't these people realize I would NEVER EVER buy anything from them?

First call was received today, no message left, which is weird for a recording.... anyway, i think its funny that they use the "fake" caller ID name for their" security system installation" dont you think poeple will catch on to that pretty quick? I mean you guys are betting on us being REALLY STUPID, which we arent. Free Security installation, if you can believe it.  Caller ID said Genesis Gutters (Spoofed it would appear).  Reported to Do Not Call Registry.

The lowest of slime on the other end of this call.  A recording:  "DON'T HANG UP!"  They claim it's not a sales call then proceed to tell you that there's been a burglary in your neighborhood & you've been recommended for their home security system.  It terrified our babysitter (who answered) who then called her father crying and in fear, which traumatized our children and put an upbrupt end to our anniversary dinner.  I would like to learn who is behind this & launch a public campaign against them.  Or maybe call their children to tell them a burglar is wondering around their house.  I cannot imagine how many people they must terrify.

I'm another among those on the DO NOT CALL list.  These creeps call often, despite my having reported them each time.  Maybe if enough of us take the time and make the effort, they'll be stopped.   I also usually go past the recording and  waste as much of the salesman's time as I can afford that day, before letting him know I had no intention of doing anything but reporting them.

I just keep adding them to my block list. It keeps getting longer. These scumbags keep using different number though.

Although on the no-call list and the call block, these people call back time and again with the shouted:
DO NOT HANG UP!!! I resent that - someone should subject these folks to an extended lesson with nothing but these messages - with NO way to turn them out.
