I believe in Karma, It's a bi***! Gave them all the information on the ex., including her name, her kids, work #'s, addresses... What a pleasure! Grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.

This number keeps showing up on my Caller ID. I have no business with this company so I do not answer. Thanks for the information.
Jillian 2013-12-11 14:54:16 Unknown
Thank God someone else feels the same way I do about these freaks.

These a** holes have MANY numbers, I was called by 4 today in a matter of 35 minutes. I have been calm about it for over a year, but as of today, I have had ENOUGH!!! I answer every call I receive because you just never know if it could be a place you actually owe money to. I hate having any unpaid bill & if I have one, I want to take care of it immediately, so when these douchekabobs call and give me the run around asking for an Alexander or an Alejandro & I tell them for over a year at least a hundred times that I AM NOT HIM......... I am not kidding when I say that I would love to reach through the phone & Wiley Coyote them.

SQPR 2013-04-22 14:34:09 Unknown
Wow, let's cry a river for the banks .....
SQPR 2013-04-22 14:30:45 Unknown
No, he's smart. The banksters ditched their bad debt and got a bailout for their troubles. His debt is past the statute of limitations, he can not legally be pursued in court. Your company purchased a bad debt ..... too bad!

They've been calling me to reach my husband...today, they called MY MOTHER. They are trying to collect on a debt my husband DOES NOT OWE..... He cancelled his Bank of America account a year ago, and they continued to charge maintenance fees on the account. We have the proof, I have dealt with BoA on it... and yet both BoA and these rude low lives are harassing us. Complaints filed.
Doyou Owedebt 2013-04-19 00:27:08 Unknown
If you owe money just speak with them if the wrong number let them know. They have to and usually will remove it instantly due to state regs. However should say a family member say that is a valid number then well they can call it. My suggestion is to work with them. Never jump at a first offer wait it out. see if the deal gets sweeter.
marcus coleman 2013-04-19 00:24:20 Unknown
You may want to look into that again. Should a letter be sent out and you do not open it, that is as good as contact. And the limitations usually run out after 7 years but only in some states. Certain creditors will even sue for judgment (cap-one) and the debt will be owed forever.
Marcus Coleman 2013-04-19 00:16:28 Unknown
I have had the calls before too. But once I answered their calls they were able to work out quite a deal for me. I owed money I spent it. I suggest you own up to your debt too. It will cease all the calls.

This company calls at all hours of the day and night. Very rude and should be shut down. Call blocking enabled on line. Do not speak with them whatsoever.

Each state has different rules.
http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showforum=54
FDCPA is federal, all of them have to abide by it.

You would have to make a payment, agree that you owe it or agree to pay to reset the SOL, it is usually counted from the date of last activity on the account.
You can say the debt is unfamiliar but if they will send you the information in the mail you will check your records.
yef 2012-10-24 01:39:18 Unknown
I'm not purporting to be an expert, but I have read that it is actually making a payment that starts the SOL again, not simply talking to them. Also, the SOL varies from state to state from what I've read. Anyone else know for sure?
You're right about it being hard to prove the debt is owed, especially when the collection agency is shady!
Daisy 2012-10-24 01:00:32 Unknown
If you speak with a representative from a company you owe money to, you are starting the statute of limitations all over again. So, contrary to the advice given above about how nice these folks are, don't take their calls, don't give them ANY information, including your name or your situation. If you are unable to pay the debt, avoid contact with them. Credit card debt expires after 4 years. If you take their calls, they will start the clock ticking at the last point they can prove they had contact with you. Each "friendly" chat starts the 4 year cycle. Don't give them that advantage. If they are so right, they should sue in court, but because it is SO HARD to prove the debt is owed, this rarely happens. If it does, file bankruptcy on the unsecured debt.
Laura 2012-10-23 21:37:34 Unknown
There is a difference between not wanting to pay and not having the ability to pay. If it is a valid debt then there needs to be flexibility and compromise on both sides. Arrangements need to be made that are reasonable and the debtor has to be able to follow the agreement. Harassment gets you no where. As I can see from the posts above, the reasonable individuals at Northstar are the ones who have had the most success. My only problem is when the collectors are calling family members and work places. In my mind that crosses a line. Hopefully you can loose the hostility and be more successful at your chosen career path.

Getting calls from this and other numbers belonging to the same debt collector- Northstar Location Services. Funny thing is, i don't owe nothing to nobody. I pay my credit cards in full every month, my car is paid off and my mortgage is current...

I am placing this and hope they see it. I, generally, never write on these , but take info. These guys crack me up. I am probably going to settle just because they are getting close to my number. If that happens, I don't really have the time to direct any more energy their way. Every conversation I have had with them has been recorded. Across from my office is a lawyers office that I pay to handle short sales coming through as I am a real estate broker.
Funny that when even called out on lies, they play dumb. I had 2 Chase accounts that I needed to settle. One with first source advantage, another with northstar. I settled my account with first source for about 14%. This genius at northstar tells me they are the only collection that Chase will use, so I NEED to work it out with them. Have the brains to at least lie correctly. I know first soured advantage had my credit report and they knew I had 2 Chase accounts.
Every conversation is recorded which is legal in all 50 states. Weather or not you can use them in court is another story. I can use mine. They contacted me, I am not a company, new jersey is where they are located.. the lies keep coming, and I have called them out. How about getting an offer a last week, yesterday they ask if I can pay the great offer they gave me, say an amount $400 more. At first I just ignored them, thinking they were too dumb to work anything out. Now, I give them a chance to make me laugh. If I don't end up settling, I will gladly email the recordings to whoever wants them.
I negotiate, buy and sell homes for a living. I deal with attorneys all day long and hold them accountable for what they say. HTC Thunderbolt is my phone and recording every conversation is a simple app. 32 gb memory card about a quarter used after almost a year.

NorthStar leaves horrific voice mails. Threating at best, calling family members. which have never been on a loan. I couldn't owe much if anything. I do travel and time to time I get several weeks behind. These messages make you not want to call. They are non-stop

i think we should tell them to go f*** themselves and stop calling or else we'll go to the better business bureau and have them put out of business!
