Same experience here. A Carol Vance at 682-651-5427 hacked my legitimate post on zillow.com. A suspicious inquirer called to report this scam.
I had to call each person who emailed me to inform them. Sadly, I'll never use zillow again.

I cannot believe they are still able to pull this scam on people.

I cannot believe people still fall for this scam.

If it's to good to be true.....then it's a scam.

When I am board I look for these scams because they are so obvious. I play with the person for a few days then waist their time making them wait at the western union for hours.

It just happened to me, I was looking online (zillow.com) for houses to rent. I did get back the email below. After several talks via phone, I did agree to send 1300$ via money gram. I did get nervous as the person calling himself Michael ask me to send another 1600$ to get the contract legal. As I mentioned my concerns, 'Michael' never came back to me and wasn't to reach on his phone number 682 651 5427.

I got the same email from a omeone renting a house same number then when finally contacted to send $ I got suspicious and googled the name money order was to be sent to it was Hector Rivera Stamford Ct.  Total scam. Is there someone we can report this to? He was also arrested last May for check theft of an elderly person.

I too was looking for a house to rent and found one on hotpads.com, I inquired about in via email and received an email back from Carol A Vance at yahoo.com with the contact phone # 682-651-5427 stating she had moved to Dorchester Mass and had decided to rent her home instead of selling it and that they wanted someone who would take care of it. Said to go by and look at the house and that the real estate sign may still be up, but she decided to rent it own her own. Stated she has the keys and paper work with her and implied that she would send them when she received money for deposit. Also stated that we needed to act fast.

These people are scamming people out of their money on a house that I have listed for rent.
they have hung up on me twice when I told them they where busted.
They are asking for $1000 to be sent to them and they would send the keys back.
I am a Realtor and I have the listing on a house they are advertising for rent.

BEWARE SCAM.

I was searching for a home on online and received a email from what I was told was hotpads.com and the guy name he said Robert Weltner, he told me to wire him $500 and he will fedx me the keys to the home I was suspicious about it because he was so admit that I do it quick. So I told him I was at Walmart and I needed his info to send it he have me the name of Hector Rivera 601 main st stamford ct. But the phone number is from grapevine tx and it's a landline phone PLEASE BE CAREFUL ITS A LOT OF PEOPLE OUT HERE TRYING TO GET OVER ON PEOPLE.
