Got a call from this number recently. I think it's the same tele-scammer that calls me at least once everyday (Monday - Friday), usually around the same time, but with a different number each day. I don't answer, and they never leave a message. My policy is that I don't answer the phone unless it's from someone I know. Plus, I won't hear the ringer anyway ... I have the normal ringtone set to a very silent ringtone. Only friends, family and contacts have regular ringtones, so I'll hear when they call and I'll answer the phone for them. Oh, and I have any unknown numbers set to "automatic reject" so they won't even get a chance to ring my phone! I used to really hate these tele-scammers, but now I get a little satisfaction knowing I've wasted some of their time! Maybe if more people do like I do, the tele-scammers will only be wasting the time and resources of the telephone service providers, and then, maybe the service providers will take some action against them. One can hope....

I stopped these calls.  When I got a live person on the phone, I  started blowing a whistle as hard as I can until they would hang up!  After a few times, the calls have stopped!  Don't say anything and when a live person starts to talk, start blowing the whistle.  It works.

i have used the prompts several times. they just call back from a different number! i have done it at least 3 times.

I keep getting calls at least daily on my cell from this number and I answer identifying myself with the Company I work for (they call my work cell).  There is always dead silence at the other end for a good 30-40 seconds, after which I just hang up.  They are driving me nuts!

This phone number belongs to a public utility named CallerID4U, Inc. They have entered into revenue sharing agreements with telemarketers who make illegal unsolicited telephone calls.  They profit directly from these outbound unsolicited telephone calls.

This appears to be a clear violation of a number of laws, including 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

You are correct that the one link is not a government site. It is a personal opinion blog that doesn't ask for any information and does not claim to be an official site.

Called my cell, same message other folks reported about being entited to financial compensation for something or other, I was driving and hit the Bluetooth call canel button as soon as I realized it wasn't someone who O wanted to talk to.  Because I was driving I didn't see the strange area code appear before I hit the answer call button.  So I had to pay for receiving this call during peak which REALLY pissed me off.  My cell is registered with the No Call Registry but everyone knows how good that works.  I will block this number from any future calls.

This number 701-248-1396 called my CELL yesterday at 12:29 pm.  Caller ID said Minton, ND.
I screen any call from a # that I don't recognize.  The voicemail said sum crap about debt or something... I automatically recognized it as a different version of the endless pain in the a** "Hi, this is RACHEL" phone scam.... This call was significantly different than any of those calls that I'm used to receiving numerous times a day because it was THE VERY FIRST ONE ON MY CELL  EVER? It definitely stood out in my mind... So I came here to check it out... And then at 12:11 PM again today  when my cell rang & the caller ID said same area code & Jamestown ND (although a different number 701-253-0407)  I again knew .......SCAM ALERT.... The voicemail this time was for that YAZ LAWSUIT CRAP....   Now remember these two unsolicited in as many days are the only TWO UNSOLICITED CALLS ON MY CELL PHONE THAT I HAVE HAD THE SAME NUMBER FOR SINCE 1999.  Anyone need anymore convincing that this is a scam... Oh yeah and just thought I'd mention been on the do not call list since its inception.. :)

Received two calls from this number while I was out of the office on 1/16/2013.  No messages left.  The caller id shows "Minto   ND"--this is a city in North Dakota of which Wikipedia says: "As of the census[2] of 2010, there were 604 people, 255 households, and 173 families residing in the city. "  So I find it hard to believe that there is a telemarketing call center there!

Got this call yesterday.  All it said on the caller ID was "Incoming Call."  I wrote down the number to check on it and I'm glad I did.  I won't be picking up on this call.

Woman's voice from this number left a message on my cell phone. If I'd had a heart attack, stroke or some other medical problems and taken any from a list of 3 or 4 birth control meds; I should press something and yadda, yadda.  How annoying....

I just got a call from this number on my cell phone, and all it gave was the number (701-248-1396) and Minto, ND as the location. The robo-caller isn't smart enough to wait for the voicemail to pick up, and started speaking too soon, leaving only the latter portion of the message "...you may be entitled to financial compensation... press 1 now to speak with a representative to see if you qualify. Again, press 1 now to be connected."

Just received an automated call on my cell number from this phone number. The message started "Have you suffered a stroke or......" I hung up, this is the first time I received any calls from this number, and I have had all of my phones registered on the do not call list since day one!

I just got a call from this number but didn't answer since I didn't recognize the number.  After reading this I'm glad I didn't.

Using the name Legal Resource Center, soliciting for class action lawsuit for users of Yaz, etc.
