a call from a number has been distrbing..bt the no.shown on screen is only +5661.....lemme pls knw atleast frm wer z it calling....

I just had the exact same phone call.  This is a new work cell phone that was just activated yesterday and no one has the number, so I am not sure how they got my number.  I told him he called a work cell and he said he would try later....

I've had a few missed calls from this number and decided to finally pick-up today. The telemarketer offered a free security system in exchange for letting them place a sign on my lawn. I asked how much it would cost me per month, etc. They said I would never be charged at any time...Too good to be true, right? When I asked again what company this was so I could check them out, they thanked me and hung up quickly, but not before verifying that I owned my home and what my name was. They said thier supervisor would call me back to confirm, and to please answer my phone. They did not call back. Silly me :(

Super Idea.  These companies can charge $9.99 to our phone bills, why can't the reverse be done?  So what you are saying is Caller ID is now useless because of Caller ID covering software.

If this is true, is there any way of really finding out who called you?

I did not answer the phone call, 2nd time for a call from this number now (caller Id).  I tried to call them back on my MJ internet phone and I get a recording to be removed from the "company's" call list (violation #1).  What company?  My phone number has been on the NDNCL for almost 10 years now (violation #2).  If our government would fine these companies for violations, we would not have this problem today.  

Better yet, impose the max fine of $5,000 per violation and give it to the people the company called.  Have it automatically billed to the caller's phone bill and apply a credit to our phone bills.  The caller's companies would not even have to be fined that much,  only $20 per call would put an end to this.

If these calls were treated like threats on our presidents life, it would also put an end to this.  The phone companies can not do that because there is software to cover the caller's id data and the only way to truely see who is calling you, is to have it traced 3 plus times and the call coming from the same number for, US TEH PUBLIC (good luck on that happening).

Several calls, no messages and since didn't recognize the a/c didn't answer. Tried to call back to get off the list but "all circuits are busy. Please try again later".  How lucky is that, and how can I get that message for these guys that call all the time

If the new phone was from "verizon" they got the # from them.
you must opt out @ Verizon also.

I was called on my work cell phone from a company called the Home Security Group and they wanted to place a sign on my lawn?  They didn't get too far because I asked them what company they were with and how to call them back, and they just hung up.

One call, around lunchtime, no message.  Number was unfamiliar which is why I didn't pick up.  I like to control my minutes used and an important call will leave a message.  So now they're calling from N. Dakota..., should we direct them to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave to put their sign up?

same thing, 2 phone calls in the last 2 days. i picked up the first time and nobody would talk. i called it with my work phone number and it says all lines are buisy.

called me. I didn't pick up. didn't leave a message. I figure it's some type of scam

Called at noon today and I did not answer.  I called number back and got a message that gave me the option to be taken off their list.  Right.  I selected the right number to tell them to stop calling.  They called again just now (6:30 p.m. EDT) and I answered.  Told me it was "Dan" with "home security group" and started saying something else when I interrupted him and told him that I told his company earlier today to take me off their call list.  He hung up.

Called my office line. Just silence on the other end.

Annoying and in the middle of class, tried to offer a free security system if I put a sign in my yard. Funny thing though, I'm only 17... I called them back and was supposedly put on a no call list. But today was my second call, some one with legal authority do something please.

Didn't recognize caller. Said it was OTO Group, which doesn't mean anything to me. And we don't have U-Verse, whatever that is, either.

Keep receiving calls from this number almost every day on my cellphone; do not know who they are or what they want as I know no one in this area code (North Dakota).

How can I get this # to stop calling???

Called again today - they have called several times now. No Message. I reported them to Do Not Call but it has been my experience that doing so is of no value.

Received 3rd call from this number . DO NOT ANSWER! Their computer is able to gather your information if you do. Save the time, date and your actions and report them to the FCC.

Who is U Verse? Where did they get my number? And what kind of lawyer wants to take this on? How much do Your minutes cost? (Up to $3 on some plans) Plus what is Your time worth? (I am an Industrial Consultant $2500 an hour on site WITHOUT garbage interruptions from places like this)

I have gotten three calls from this number in the past few days. I haven't signed up for U-verse, so I don't think that is the only way they get your number. I accidentally answered it earlier today because I didn't look at the number before answering. As soon as I heard a "beep", like a recorded message was going to play, I hung up.
