We receive SEVERAL calls per week from this #, and no one ever speaks when we answer. I think one time an automated message started playing, but I just hung up because we are so frustrated with the # of calls received.

the only way this is going to stop is to report them to the FCC - if you google it, it should come right up - you want the complaint form online

This no. has called many times under various disguises.  Once Pet Services was in the name that appeared on Caller ID.  I am on MO No Call list and I filed a complaint with the MO Atty Gen this morning.  I advise you to do the same!

Scam to lower credit card debt.  A nice friendly recording of a woman, then when you press the button a man with a heavy Indian accent that you can only make out about one out of every five words he says.  Says he is from Master Card/Visa.  Sounds like a scam.  Hung the phone up.  I really need to get one of those air horns to blow into the phone.

Got a call this morning from this number and my caller ID said "Credit Services" and, yes, I was in Vegas two weeks ago. Maybe they're getting numbers from the casinos we stay at. I stayed at the Tropicana and I do not gamble so that's the only thing I can think of.

My grandmother taught me the right solution.  Get one of those aerosol air horns.  Blast their ear drum out.  It's really the only way to take some vengeance on them.

How do I stop them from calling?
Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

If you have AT&T (SBC) then my BEST suggestion to all of you folks, is to get their (or your service provider's) "CALL SCREENING" feature for a few bucks a month.  With it you can BLOCK UP TO 10 NUMBERS just by punching a few phone keys... After a call: *60, then #01#...which BLOCKS THE LAST # that called you EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE NUMBER!  Or you can follow the automated instructions to enter a number, review what numbers are on your "LIST" or delete a number "07" after hearing it from your List.  I've had this feature for several years and believe me, it's worth every penny if you get a lot of calls from the same annoying people over and over again. They may start using an alternate number, but just 'add' them to your list also.

Get some peace in your life!  It's a shame to have to spend a few bucks to stop these calls, but it's better than listening to their crap, getting aggravated and upsetting your day.

It also helps to write your BLOCKED NUMBERS down; I use a 3x5 index card with the date also so I can edit my LIST after a period of time, to make room for another idiots' number. Hope this helps you all.

In today's time, there are many phone mfg's that make phones or equipment that can block more than 10 or so numbers...some in the 100's.  You'll just have to determine if the cost is "cost effective" compared with a monthly fee from your phone service provider....Remember you'll still have to subscribe to "Caller I.D."from your provider, even with your 'blocking' phone/equipment.

ANOTHER HINT:  DO NOT PICK UP YOUR PHONE FOR ANY 888, 877, 800, 866 or similar calls, as that MAY tell them your number is an active one and the time you're available.  After all, your friends/family don't call using these prefixes, do they now?  And they sure aren't calling with an i.d. of "TOLL FREE CALL" are they???   Calling the above prefexes tells the party the PHONE NUMBER you're calling from...Even if you have a "blocked" number yourself.

AT&T also has available their "PRIVACY MANAGER".  I've been using it since Dec 2004.  If an unknown caller trys to get through to me using a "blocked number" the Privacy Manager automatically picks it up stating "the party you are trying to reach does not accept UNIDENTIFIED calls. Your caller ID was not received.  To enter an access code, press 1, or to record your name so that we may announce your call, press 2." ...

PRIVACY MANAGER answers the types of incoming calls where the PHONE NUMBER is not displayed
such as 'ANONYMOUS", "OUT OF AREA", "UNAVAILABLE" and "PRIVATE."

PMgr then gives the calling party a few options:

~Enter a 10 digit "access code" (You assign to them...usually their ph #: easier to remember)
~Call again unblocking your number (*82);
~Unblock their number just for this one call.  If the unblocked phone number is then available for display, the call will be connected and you will see this number on your Caller ID display.

~Callers can identify themselves by recording their name (no message, only a couple of seconds to record a name) YOUR PHONE RINGS, and the Caller ID displays the words "Privacy Manager" and a 10 digit phone number that is only for use with the Privacy Manager service.  It has nothing to do with the calling party's phone number and no one will answer this phone number if called.

Next YOU HAVE (4) CHOICES when your phone rings and you see PRIVACY MANAGER:
1.  Accept the call.
2.  Decline the call.
The caller will hear: "The person you are calling is not available at the time. Please try again later."
3.  Send the call to voice mail or an answering device.
4.  Send a "solicitor's rejection."   I LOVE AND ALWAYS USE THIS ONE (Unless a friend calls). It
thoroughly pisses the (unwanted) caller off everytime.  Sometimes that caller tries again and says
using the "record a name" feature above "This is not a solicitor"...I JUST HIT IT(#4)  AGAIN !!!!
The caller will hear:  "Attention, phone solicitors!  Please add this person's name and telephone
number to your Do Not Call List.  The person you are calling does not accept phone solicitations."

For your family and friends, just get them used to "Unblocking" their numbers, usually with *82, before
dialing your number.  After hearing you have a blocked system, they'll remember after a few trys.  This is actually easier than assigning them an "access code" to use....too many numbers (usually their ph#).

I have also forwarded my phone to the local Police Department, church and even "Dial A Prayer" when I feel a pain in the a** caller is going to call again.  When they do, my phone rings 1 time, and I KNOW that call has been forwarded.  It's always given me a great chuckle for these calls.  Then I just cancel the call forwarding after waiting long enough for the idiot at the other end to try again and/or think "geez, this must not be a correct number for the person I'm trying to reach.  Can you imagine the Police getting a robo call, pressing a number and start laying into the jerk on the other end for "telemarketing" the Police???

Good luck and don't let the b*****ds get you down.  They are not worth your time to ask them not to call.
They want active phone numbers, won't remove you most of time and will just keep trying...ego all the hang ups...they don't care, it's that simple...they work on the volume of calls connected to.

2nd call I've received.
Telemarketers - "we see you're making your credit card payments on time & we want to lower your rates".  I pushed 2 to "not receive further contact" & was connected to an agent anyhow.  I asked for a supervisor. The guy literally handed the phone to the person sitting next to him.  So, I politely said,
"Hey Motherf&*cker, I work for the ACTUAL card services company, so don't think you can scam me with this call.  I'm on a do-not-call list, I don't have a Visa & I've recorded your call.  I'm filing complaints against you with the Federal Trade Commission & FCC"
He hung up...  I've blocked the number from my phone. I'm filing my complaints right now.

the call plays a recorde message that says and even though there was no problem with my current balance, I should speak with someone immediately regarding my eligibility to receive lower interest rates on my credit card. i press 1 to talk to someone and put them on speakerphone becuase if i can waste some of their day then i figure i save someone else from having to talk with them...  they ask a lot of questions about my credit card and i tell them nothing but ask them if i should be telling someone i don't know this information... after a while they figure out that i am not sincere and am just pulling their leg and they get angry and hang up...

Automated message starting with "This is Heather from account services"... When I pressed 2 to "stop future calls", I was connected to a man with a heavy Indian accent - which I only mention because I see earlier comments that their operators had Indian accents. When I asked the name of the company, he twice said "Visa and Mastercard Services", and confirmed it when I repeated it back to him. Seems like a strange name to me. Anyway, when I asked what the phone number of the business was he hung up on me. I'll be filing a complaint with donotcall.gov - not sure if that helps even a little.

DAMN, THESE FOLKS HAVE BEEN BUSY THE PAST 2 MONTHS!  LOOK AT ALL THESE CALLS ABOVE.

I JUST GOT THEIR CALL AND PRESSED 1 TO SPEAK TO A LIVE PERSON - JUST TO EFF WITH THEM - WHICH I DID.  NOW DAYS I TAKE GREAT PLEASURE IN EFFIN' WITH THESE CALLERS.

WHY YOU ASK?

BECAUSE THEY ARE NOW BLOCKED!!!  BTW - MY CALL BLOCKING PHONES HAVE ELIMINATED 90-95% OF TELEMARKETERS, SO I RARELY GET CALLED ANY MORE.

I ALMSOT MISS THEIR CALLING!!!

TO EVERYONE:

+++++++BEING ANGRY OR UPSET WILL NOT HELP YOU!!!!

***********YOU MUST BE PRO-ACTIVE!!!++++++

PLEASE READ BELOW!
FACT 1 - the DNC list CLEARLY does not work!  Everyone knows this...or should know this!
FACT 2 - filing a complaint with the FCC does not work!  A total waste of time.  Done that.
FACT 3 - having an unlisted phone will not help you.
FACT 4 - asking/begging telemarketers to take you off their call list ? you?ll get laughed at!
FACT 5 - no "class action" law suits are being filed and certainly, none are being LITIGATED.
FACT 6 ? contacting the BBB ? LAUGHABLE!!!  The BBB is a corrupt RIGHT-WING organization that sells their ratings to the highest bidder.

********* QUIT BEING FRUSTRATED OVER TELEMARKETER CALLS! ********

********************* QUIT BEING A VICTIM!!! *****************

****** PLEASE DO THIS!     PURCHASE A CALL BLOCKING TELEPHONE!!! ******

Call blocking phones are very inexpensive $40-$60 and they come with, at least, one wireless handset.  Very, very convenient.

************* DON'T GET MAD ? HIT BACK! ************

STOP  BEING  ANNOYED  AND  STOP  BEING  A  VICTIM.

STOP COMPLAINING!

BUY A CALL BLOCKING PHONE!

Uniden and Panasonic make CALL BLOCKING telephones.  They?re cheap - $40-$60 and they usually come with a 2nd wireless handset.  COSTCO & AMAZON SELL THEM.
They work beautifully!  These phones also block ?PRIVATE?, ?OUT OF AREA? and "UNKNOWN" calls!!!
I have had the same home number and the same business phone number for over 15 years and my home and my business lines (both published) seem to be on every call list imaginable.  I bought a Panasonic call blocking phone for my home and I bought a Uniden call blocking telephone for my business.

NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH TELEMARKETERS.  THEY CAN?T GET THROUGH!

We can stop these telemarketers IF we all buy a call blocking phone.

this is not a telemarketing firm. i work at a telemarketing firm. NOTHING IS LEGIT ABOUT THIS. first off we get calls for my grandma. she doesnt even have credit cards. ive answered twice now and talked to them first off card services could be anyone but when it shows up at unknown thats not right. second off i asked how they got this number. they didnt have a good answer for that. i asked about a number for any questions. they are required to TCPA even after a customer hangs up. after you mention who you are "card services" you have to give them a number to reach for questions generally at the end of the call If you have any questions pleaase call yada yada yada thank you for your time have a great day! but no as soon as i said well the thing is i dont have a credit card i got hung up on. now. there is nothing we really can do unless we stay on the line and track the call. but i would first ask for a name and number and then if they cant help with that freak out on them scare them. let them know we know what they are doing. and hell even tell them you are trackin the call or you already have. its all we can really do.
