Called at 9:35pm tonight!!!
If it's not a scam, then why didn't the person calling from this number leave a message, hummm?
barbc 2012-08-16 16:59:15 Unknown
I constantly get a call from this number and I have a business 888# Today someone left a 5 minute message on my work phone. When I listened to it, it was a woman with a foreign accent or she may have even been speaking another language I'm not sure it was mumbled and evidently she didn't know she was on my voicemail there were 2 people talking in the background. I called the # back and it states thank you for calling "card services" no specific name mentioned.

Looks like a shill for the scam is getting upset here, now that the scam has been reported.

Part of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions. Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people. There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

It is in fact HSBC card services. Wish I would've known before hand because I would have answered due to fraud activity on my account. Wish they would've left a message but now I'm just going they call back tomorrow.

Called. Didn't pick up. I called back later, was HSBC credit card department apparently to extend me a line of credit.

The company calling from this number is HSBC. If you have either an Orchard Bank card or Best Buy Rewards Zone Master card, or other, they are not collecting, rather calling to follow up with an inquiry you recently did on your account, whether a dispute or recent request for credit line increase.
There CS rep left a voicemail for me.

Yes, this number is for HSBC credit card. I recently reapplied for a card after a year of not having one. Legit number for HSBC.
JJBSD 2008-12-03 20:12:42 Unknown
Then WHY do they hang up without leaving a message???
cascade545 2008-09-07 18:48:16 Unknown
Perhaps you should get your what I will call "story" straight. I won't say get ypur fact straight because nothing you stated is, indeed, a fact. The number is to the Credit Department, Orchard Bank division of HSBC.
This is the department that calls youback if you have requested a higher line of credit. Its also the number they call from if you have a card already, and thry want to inform you thst you sre qualified for a igher line, but need to get you authorization in order to apply the increased limit.
This is a legitimate company, calling from a legitimate number, that is in fact calling for a legitimate reason. If it was a scam I would be one of the first to back what was said. But I don't believe a company that gave me a card when others wouldn't should have to suffer from your type of slander. When you flame someone on a board, have something to back up your claim. Otherwise, go crawl back into the hole you pked your head out of to scream the sky is falling!

it is a scam. . .do not do it. they will steal ur identity, drain ur bank accounts, get lines of credit in ur name and you will be held accountable. these people are very good. . .be careful
