I just received the same phone call.

His name was Mr. David and he said that I won $2.5 million. I start to ask him a ton of questions and he seemed to get irritated. He then stated I would have to pay $799 through Western Union in order to have the check released. He said the check is in safe keeping in my area and asked if I wanted to have check presented privately (2 reps & an attorney) or public (w/ camera crews). Called his bluff & told him within 45 minutes to see if they will actually show.

The same (876) Jamaica area code as well as (702) contact #'s were the ones given.

Just put security check on my bank accounts, etc. to make sure no access is allowed.

Everyone be very careful & don't fall for these scams/gimmicks!!!

Got the call from a David Washington. Same scam as above. I won a mercedes from shopping at Walmart, Pennys, or Sears. When I said I dont' shop there he said I must have submitted for Publishers Clearinghouse. Had a foreign accent. I told him to get a real job. He kept assuring me he was legit so I asked for his phone number and he provided 702-347-8510.

Got a call from this number a Mr. David Washington assuring me that I won a Mercedes. When I told him to get a real job he again assured me he is legit. I told him I would call him back and he gave me this number. Apparently he claims I submitted for some kind of giveaway at one of the major shopping stores: Walmart, Sears, Pennys, Publishers Clearinghouse.  What a shame that people like this can't find any other way to exist than trying to rip off people. My number is on the do not call list but this company apparently does not abide by that list. Do Not Believe this BS...

A John Anderson called and said that I had won their sweepstakes. He was asking for a fee to obtain my winnings.

its a guy claiming to be a telemarketer for some company he sent my friend money from a south carolina address for assisted living his number is flagged to be in las vegas and dc area if you ask for his cid number he wont give it to you so he is not legit. i have called him repeatedly at the number 7023478510 and he refuses to talk to me anymore he even threatened to shoot me in the head he was so mad at me for calling so much i say return the favor and harrass him for once

Had this today, gave me the name John Kleider. When he told me "you have won the Megar (that's what it sounded like with his accent) Millions" I asked him who won. I told him there are three people in the household, so I wanted to make sure the right person was talking to him. He seemed stumped, and stumbled for a moment like his brain tripped, before restarting his whole spiel. I asked him again "who are you looking for? What is the name of the winner?" and he hung up. Called back later after he looked up my number using a 411 service so he would have a name to provide, but he asked me about Walmart, a few other places, before getting to Reader's digest. I toyed with him a bit to waste his time and find more info on him online. Wound up hanging up on him 4 times total. One of the calls I did the Monty Python "woman" voice for a while, then in the following call, switched it to "angry texan" at which point they realized I was messing with them, hung up, and have not called me since.

Scammed called me at 7am to tell me I had won $1.9M from Mega Millions. Or from Readers Digest/Publishers Clearinghouse. Or from shopping at Walmart. Or by using a Visa or MasterCard. Every time I questioned his story, he changed it.
His name was "John Washington." (Surprised he wasn't George.)
Number he called me from was the 702 number, but he said I needed to call 206-855-3076 to claim my prize, and ask for Bob Buckingham. I guess Grover Cleveland was busy.
