Got a call from UPS trying to confirm address and when i said dont you already have it since its on the package then the guy hung up.

Called my office and I happened to answer and said my name.  He then said "Is this Donna?"  I said yes and he asked me to verify if the phone # was a direct line.  I said it was the company phone #.  He said he was calling from ups and I would have a package delivered soon.  I called UPS and there is no package being delivered.

These people are very rude and call my office constantly looking for someone who does not work here.  Just hang up on them.  They need to get on their camel and go back to India.  Foreign scammers

received this call at my office today.  while I appreciate all the posts confirming what I was pretty sure just happened, does anyone have any information on who to contact and report this to?  

I just got the call now from this #. Just repeated my name and I said yes.. hopefully i dont get a bill for nothing.
Next time im not answering calls from there.

"Jason" with a heavy accent claimed to be from Lockheed Martin and wanted to speak with a particular manager.  When I asked what the call was in reference to, he said, "Sorry?" and hung up.  ATTENTION "Operator" from 25 Apr 2014 -- Interesting that you mention 856-204-0652 as being associated with 815-695-7849.  Have received many calls from the first number from men with accents and different names claiming to be with John Wiley & Sons, Microsoft, Staples, and Citibank.  They supposedly are returning managers' inquiries or want to discuss account problems.

Just received a call from this number.  Similar to other posts, it was a man with an Indian accent and asked if this was (my first and last name), I said yes and he said he was so and so from Bank of America.  Then he asked if this was my direct line or the general company number.  I said 'why do you ask' and he hung up.  That same number popped up again but hung up before I could answer.  When I called it back, it says the number is not in service.  I just called reception and IS, we are blocking this number.

Got similar phone calls looking for non-existent person on this number and on 619-906-7706.

Presumably a bad line and a VoIP call from India, judging by accent / call quality.

This number called my office.  A man with a heavy accent asked for my husband, who also works here.  I said he was not in at the moment, and I would take a message, and the man hung up.  Caller ID read Newark, IL

overseas caller asked for someone who does not work for the company. I told them twice there was no one by that name here. They then called back immediately and asked for the same person. I hung up on them.

NEVER REPLY WITH YES ! They record you and may try and send something then bill you for it because they have a recording of you "agreeing" to the terms.

heavy indian accent male called asking for my  by name and then hung up...  after trying to call back the line is busy

someone with a heavy  indian accent asked for me by  full  legal name  twice and then hung up...  tried to call back but the line is busy...  im getting way to many of these calls...

Accented man asked to verify my name and then hung up. Fishy.

I've been getting calls all day from this number, it shows up on our caller ID as Newark, IL, 815-695-7849.

The guy called and asked for several people, none of whom work at my extremely small office.  I told him to place us on our do not call list, he said he would but kept asking for people until I hung up.  He has called back many times today and I just put it through to our voicemail each time.

But my money is this is some sort of scam.  Don't waste your time on this piece of scum.

My switchboard called and ask if I wanted to take a call from Chris - a very common name. Silly me, I didn't ask for a last name when I accepted the call. The person on the other end had a thick accent and asked if I was blank blank (he used my full name). I said "yes" and he immediately hang up.  Clearly they pulled my name from Linked In and called the switchboard at my current employer. Seems as if they are verifying information in some attempt at identity theft is my guess. Tell your switchboard

Just got a call from 815-695-7849.  Caller called my company and said he had a prescription for someone here.
He used the name of a friend of mine who recently passed away - and who has never worked here.  When I asked his name he refused to give it.  He wanted to leave a voice message for my friend.  Beyond creepy.  Foreign accent.  When you try to call back all you get is a busy signal.  

Same thing and same number (815) 695-7849 claiming to be David Jones.  Asks if number is personal or business.  Hangs up, then calls back claiming I hung up.  He finally got frustrated because I could not understand his pathetic attempt at English.  Note to phone scammers, if you are going to ply your trade, speak understandable English.  I just use these guys as a scratching post and verbally abuse them now.  Beats road rage.

Got a call from a "Shawn Roberts" saying he was from UPS asking for an employee. I asked who the package was coming from, and he said David Miller. He said he needed to confirm the address. I asked him to hold, looked up this number, and hung up.

Got one of these. Guy asks is this "So-and-So", I say "yes", they hung up.

A guy called from this # and immediately asked me how I was.  My standard reply to callers like this is, "Too busy to deal with calls that aren't directly related to our company's business."  The guy got all flustered and asked to speak to one of our presidents (by name).  I asked what the call was regarding and he told me he was with UPS and that he was calling regarding a package for Mr. X.  I already didn't believe that he was with UPS or calling about a package for Mr. X, so I told him I'd transfer him to our Receiving Dept. to discuss any incoming deliveries from UPS.  He faltered a bit but said OK.  After he was on hold less than 10 seconds, he hung up (of course).

This number just called here at the reception desk. He was very rude, could barely understand him when he asked for a person who has not worked here in over 7 years. He has called twice so far asking for the same name. What do these people not understand about they no longer work here and to stop calling.

I wonder what kind of scam he's trying to pull off.... Annoying and frustrating!!!

Got a call from this number this morning from a man who said he was from KPMG, asked if he was speaking to me by name and if my business name was what it is, I replied yes to both and then he hung up. Like others I also recognized an Indian accent. When I tried to call back, I got a busy signal, when I tried from another phone, I got a message that the number has been disconnected. Upsetting and disconcerting.

Someone called with a heavy accent to my work as he asked for my name I replied yes, and he hung up. Seeing he called my place of business we tried calling back to hopefully find out what was going on seeing we thought it was odd. The phone does not connect. 815-695-7849

That same thing happened to me today. Is there a way someone can put a stop to this?
