Wow it appears that I have won 350,000 and a new mercedes from readers digest. Some guy i could barely understand called me from 876-533-4615. He knew a lot about me, my full name and address. Did'nt want to take my fees from my winnings for some reason. Oh well, better luck next time I guess.

Oh my Gosh!! I received my first phone call from these people today!! I kind of knew it was a scam because no one is just giving that much money out willingly. Anyhoo, the guy sounded like he was from African and told me to purchase a green dot card from my local Wal-mart or dollar general and not to tell anyone until after I've received my money. They hadn't asked me for any information of my own yet though so when will they do this?

We've recently received a scam like this, my mother was a bit gullible, but it's human nature. Anyways, she did do all the things this person, but as per usual, scams are scams. After we told her many times it was a scam, she felt horrible to fall for something like that. I already know about how winnings go: I work at a casino and most of the times winnings are taken out if it's an high amount. They kept on calling my fathers cell phone to talk to my mom, but then they got a hold of MY cell number. We've already taken action to try and block the numbers, and the scammers name is Bill Bradly and the number he called form was 810-406-3415, and from another number that tried to get ahold of her from my phone, but I already have it blocked. Same thing on the other scams: Go to a Wal-Mart and get a Green Dot card and put this amount and they'd notify the people with the money and what not. They had to nerve to say that they're in our home town, near the CVS Pharmacy, talk about a laugh, but the calls have began to quell down slightly.

My husband just got a call stating he won 3.5 million dollars and a new Mercedes Benz all he had to do was go get a green dot paper card originally 500 dollars be my husband  talked his down to 50 dollars stating he only has 50 dollars in his wallet. He said he would meet my husband in person at his job to deliver the car and the check my husband called me all excited stating all our bad luck has changed( we just had car repoed and his hours at work had to be cut in half because he has to have all 6 of his discs in his back replaced in the next 6 to 8 weeks) this and that I said hunny calm down its a scam. I have worked in the banking business for 12 years and have seen so many different scams if its a true winning you don't have to pay anything and the taxes are taken out of your winnings what is sad is this guy swore on his children that this was not a scam.

Of course I said this was a scam, and I didn't have the money anyhow. He received nothing from me. He was very convincing throwing in he would even pay for half my expenses. Don't be dooped in this scam!

I just got the same call from one person saying his name was david meyers I had him to give me the zipcode here and name some streets cause he told me he was from my city and his branch was located here, but he couldn't give the right zipcode or one right street name and address. he was not professional when he called so that's how I figured it was a scam. glad everyone had the same run in or I probably would be second guessing myself like did I just blow my chances on a prize.

I just got a call from someone calling himself David McIlroy claiming to be with The Golden Nugget Cash Awards Department saying I had won 4.5 Million a second  prize in the cash giveaway along with a 2012 MBZ in my choice of color silver, grey or cherry red. A few minutes later a man called back saying he was with the Claims Department phone number 347-478-6392 in New York. Gave me the same story also said won free one yr. Insurance Policy from  GEICO, Lap top etc. Then proceeded to verify my address which I did not give to them, and he started to say they would deliver the car today and two FBI people would be with them to go to my bank etc. I in the meantime I had pulled the Company name up on the web to verify the scam and I told him to please delete my phone number and to stop calling as this is a scam and he told me I did not know what I was talking about and I said this is a big scam and he hung up. SO BEWARE THEY ARE STILL OUT THERE FOR THIS SAME SCAM!!!!!!!!

Just got my call...it was from a different number 876-584-9477.  Same story though.  Iwasted my time listening to the pitch just waiting for the point that they asked me to go to Walmart and buy a "money pack" which would cost me $345 to cover the delivery.  They had my name, phone number, and address, and they said that the delivery people were on a road 10 minutes away and named the road.  Whatever, nice try boys.

OK, now I feel cheated :(  The guy called with a thick Caribean accent, says he is with Golden Nugget Award Lottery out of Las Vegas AND New York.  He knew (but mispronounced) my wife's first name.  He called me by our correct last name.  He even knew our address.  Sadly I only won $450,000, not the millions like some of you lucky ones :(  To add insult to injury, the car I won was not a Mercedes, but a 2012 manual transmission Chevy!!  He asks if I am available tomorow at 11:30 AM for the delivery of my car and the BEEG check.  I say that is difficult as I work at that time.  The man insists that I make myself available because I am the 3rd place winner and they are delivering the prize to the 4th place winner in my same area that day. Strangely he struggled to pronounce the name of my town.  He the started to talk about how the Golden Nugget Awards and Lottery was going to pay 99% of the shipping and handling fees for delivering the car...BUT.....that's when I say "I'm don't like where this is going" and I hung up.

He imeadiately called back, I did not answer, he left a message saying that I misunderheard his meaning about paying the 1% fee.  Would I please call back at 1-876-58-687TREE?

He tried calling once more moments later.

Give my winnings to charity please

Recieved the phone call from the "readers Digest" letting me know I won 2.5 mill and a Mercedez Benz and I would only have to pay 5% of the tax and the government would pay the rest.  I asked to speak to a supervisor who's name is Paul Price, and when I asked for his information to call the BBB, he even provided me a phone number 702-347-8638 which is located in Las Vegas, and not in Canada.  And they have kept phoning back to see if I called the number yet.  NOT A CHANCE !! I contacted the BBB in Ottawa and did a little back ground check, Do not call any number they give you!  use canada411 or google and do some research, things that look to good to be true usually are !!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother.  This guy just tried to scam my husband.  He also goes by the name Frank Jones.  He asked us to put $204 on a Rite Aid green money card for him.  He said he was born in CA, but had a Jamaican accent.  I am reporting him to a family member with strong ties to an important affiliation (I can't give out the info)  This guy got so mad when I told him I knew it was a scam.  I plan to call him CONSTANTLY to see how he likes it.  i hope this makes you feel better.

I just got a call from these guys who claimed we one 1.8 million dollars, and to go to Rite Aid to put $204 on a green money card.  I knew it was a scam and told him off.  He had the nerve to get angry at ME for accusing him.  I told him Karma's a bi***, and to comfort all those who have been scammed by this guys, I want you to know that.  I told him I was an 85 year old lady and gave him a fake name. I plan to call him every hour on the hour to just "chat"  Let's see how he likes it.
He said his name is Frank Jones born in California with a Jamaican accent??? Please!

I recieved a call today and they knew my home address, which was very scary. Well it was my mother's home address since I am away at college! But they wanted me to pay 399.00 to get my check for $980,000.00 and a dell computer delivered to my home. And reading that some of the other people were offered millions; I feel cheated. (lolz) Then he asked if I wanted it publisized or keep my prize information to myself, so knowing that it was fake I told them publisize it, put it all over the television!!! He than informed me that I would have to pay for it to be on tv! Really??? Then on top of everything, he kept calling me sweetheart the whole time, and in the end when he saw I was not going to pay anything, he told me God is going to bless me with a boyfriend one day and that I have a sweet voice and seem like a very sweet young lady that God will bless with a good man one day! Wth???? Never heard of mess like this in my life people are really crazy!!!! Also he did mention that it was the Golden Nugget award out of Las Angelas and when I asked him well how did I get entered into the drawing he said something about paying my utility bills on time and a Wal-Mart reciept.....Huh???? Two completely unrelated things, and neither showing how they got my information as in paying for groceries does not require personal contact info and the utility co. cant legally give out your information...anywho this was some really crazy stuff... OAN ONE LAST THING THE NUMBER THAT CALLED ME WAS DIFFERENT IT WAS 876-289-2429!!!!!

I SURE WISH THAT MONEY WAS REAL THOUGH AND IN MY POCKET RIGHT NOW...LOLZ

I got a call today from a Mrs. Walker who said she was the general manager of the Golden Nugget in New York and had been doing this for 22 years (but she could barely speak English).  I had won 3.5 million dollars and a new 2012 Mercedes that would be delivered in the next hour and a half.  All I had to do was wire $1000 to some guy in Colorado and go to Walgreens and fill a green dot card to give them and they would pay me back when I gave them receipts.  They even said they would go to the bank with me to cash my 3.5 mil check but I would have to give them 1.5 mil back to pay IRS and they would even do my taxes for me.  I told her if I won anything I shouldn't have to pay for it.  I worked for a bank for 20 years and have seen people get scammed with stuff like this.

These people have called my elderly mother on several occasions - I have called them back and advised them to stop calling and scaring her and that I was reporting them to the local police department, they seem to just think this is a joke.

They have told my mom that she won a car and 2.5 million in cash, they also told her that they had her home address and would be coming to deliver these prizes and all she needs to do is pay them a delivery fee.  She is seriously afraid that these guys are going to show up at her dorr, they have freaked her out.

The guy I spoke to identified himself as Mr. Jackson

These scammers have taken my 84 year old Mother.  I have repeatedly tried to get this stopped but these people are very good a preying upon elders--especially those who want terribly for the things they tell them to be true.  We've changed phone numbers and put them on the do not call list to no avail.  All the calls originate in Jamaica, though "Sarah Parker" says she is calling from Henderson.  Her alledged "boss" calls himself Bob Miller, though it was a different name last month.  They start calling at 5 in the morning.  Mom had 27 phone calls from them in four days.  Promises of cash, checks, car winnings get bigger all the time.  They use the green dot card method to eliiminate any trail/record.  Look out for these signs:  "Packages" that require funding-repeatedly and for increasing amounts for bogus things like insurance on the car, "gold sealls" so they can transport $$ across state lines, taxes, check fees, etc.  They claim to have their own planes, and say they will bring the money in a truck with an FBI agent, caution the victim not to tell anyone about the winnings, etc.  They are very good at cultivating their victim with "what would you do first for your family with the money?  Be sure to dress nicely as we'll be taking your picture.  Give us the driving directions to your house.  Give us the checking account number and your bank's routing number so we can arrange for the big check.

We have been getting the same call except from a Dave miller. He said all the same things and when we said we think this is a scam he asked us how we know versus trying to reassure us it isn't and asked if we had been scammed before. He called several times in a row after we had hung up on him.

I received a call from Mr. Mike Turner and he said I won 2.5 million and a car in a Readers Digest sweepstake. He also said he was with the Golden Nugget Sweepstakes and Lottery Co out of Las Vegas. They are asking for $399.00 for shipping and handling, etc. Currently I am trying to get them to fax proof to me and I have a friend in Las Vegas that will take that info and help validate if this is a scam. I will also be checking with Readers Digest and the Golden Nugget. I will keep you posted.
