I received a call from this phone number late in the evening on 2 separate occassions.  The recording said that I had a collect call from an inmate at Clark County Detention Center.  When i tried to call the number back it did not ring.

You are stupid, if an inmate called you from jail, of course you cannot call them back! its a one way line.  Climb back into your cave before your identity is stolen... oh no!     Really is this any way to live your life? don't be scared of anything face each day as if its your last... so it doesn't matter what happens!

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU COULD DO TO TRY TO GET BACK TO THE CCDC AND SEE IF THAT PERSON IS STILL THERE OR GOT OUT?

and the payphones in the jail are run by a company called Correctional Billing Services.. or Evercomm ... They pretty much have nothing to do with the jail...

when you are in the holding tank, the call is free.. it clearly tells you "this is a FREE call from an inmate at the ccdc.....and so on."

When they get moved up in to the housing or whatever and call, it is not free and tells you so...

Just one more thing... Even if you have your number set up to block all collect calls, the free call still goes thru....

And I'm not sure about the call being free as someone mentioned.  The recording does say "if you would like to hear the rates for this call press...".  Just thought I would throw that in there.

My husband and I each received two phone calls from this number at around 3:30 in the morning Thursday, 8/22.  I unfortunately missed the calls but I do believe they are coming from CCDC (Clark County Detention Center).  I believe my brother is still in CCDC and was trying to get a hold of us. (He was expected to get out the day before).  I am already aware that you cannot call this number back, it's a detention center, know one is going to answer, all you're going to hear are clicking sounds.

NOTE.  This may not be "a loved one in jail".  There is a common scam occuring that generates from out of detention centers.  I experienced one from Louisiana. I received pre-recorded calls for 2 weeks. Instead of accepting the call, I contacted any and all friends who I thought might be in that state and wind up in jail. There was no one.  Do NOT accept the call, unless of course there's lots of folks you know who are likely to be arrested, or you don't mind being charged $3.00 per minute!!!

This is not anyone trying to steal your identity.  This is a free call not collect but FREE call from the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC).  So one of your loved ones is trying to call you to tell you they are in jail, and possibly wants some money to get out. It is a free 10 minute call that is outbound only.  Like a pay phone you are unable to call into the number but the number can call out.  This is another reason that the caller id reads the number but says it is unknown.  The recording for instructions starts when the call is placed, therefore you might miss the option to press "0" to accept the free call.  So when you do pick up the phone hit "0" and you will hear their voice.

I received a call from this number this evening at 7:00 pm, but I answered the phone, no one speaks and just disconnects. I tried calling it back, but it does not go through, just like no ring. I heard that this might be the first step to steal the identity. I am worried, I dont know what to do next.

The message on the answering machine... You have a collect call from an inmate at clark county detention center press number (?) to accept or to no longer recieve calls. Two calls from this number one at 6:15 and the other at 6:30.
This has not been ruled out as a scam, I may know the inmate, but as of today I have not figured it out....yet
When I call back, no ring, dial tone, pulse, busy, beeping, nothing.

This number registered on my caller id late one evening as unavailable.

I received a call from this number twice Sunday morning.  When I called the number back it did not ring, just a pulse sound.
